Abstract

Sand casting waste has the potential to replace quartz sand in mortar manufacture because it contains high silica. This study uses sand casting waste from the steel industry in Gresik, Indonesia to observe how it affects the quality of the mortar. Initial characterization were carried out to determine the properties of the material, including; magnetic test which results are not attracted by magnets, moisture content test with a value of 0.328%, XRD test to determine the crystallinity content which results contain 99.52% Silica Quartz, and XRF test to determine the content of the compound in which results are 81.25% Silica dominant. Then observations were made by making mortar with the replacement of quartz sand by sand casting with variations of 0% wt, 25% wt, 50% wt, and 100% wt and then tested its compressive strength at 3 days, 7 days, and 28 days. Based on the research that has been done, the optimum result using sand casting is at 25% wt with a compressive strength of 251.15 kgf/cm2 at 28 days of age which is higher than the standard.

Abstract

Computerization has an essential role in the field of remote sensing. Various methods for automatic coastline analysis continue to develop. This study aims to determine the performance of three methods, namely Roberts' Filter, Segmentation, and Band Ratio on Landsat 8 imagery, in producing land edges that are directly adjacent to the sea area (coastline). This study shows that the non-fusion image, the resulting edge, is less sharp than the fused image in the Roberts' filter method. The use of a 2x2 matrix on the Roberts' filter, the range of values from 0.52 to 0.56 in the segmentation method, and the Green Band Ratio - Near-Infrared produce various accuracy. The best method is produced by Band Ratio, where the edge detection results are close to the image's actual conditions. Meanwhile, unsatisfactory results are produced by the segmentation method.

Abstract

An important aspect of a sales business is the pattern of product purchases, which is one of the supporting factors for increasing revenue, as well as customer arrivals. To find out all aspects of a good buying model, it is measured based on products that customers often buy, products purchased at the same time, usage based on these products, and the relationship between each product. One place of business that seeks to develop a business strategy by using a product purchase pattern is the Avindo Motor Shop. Competition in the business world requires Avindo Motor to improve the quality of sales using a method or method so that what goods are usually purchased by customers can be known. In a day Avindo Motor is not deserted by buyers to make transactions, the resulting transaction data can reach hundreds so that every day the purchase of data. The stages of this research are the literature study stage, data collection stage, data management with data mining, results analysis stage, and presentation stage. From the discussion that the researcher has done, it can be concluded that to determine the pattern of purchasing products using Frequent Pattern Growth has been successfully carried out, and an association rule has been determined at the Avindo Motor store, such as if you buy nuts you will buy clips, if you buy inner tubes you will buy nuts and if you buy an inner tube, you will buy a clip.

Abstract

The South China Sea is one of the epicenters of conflict in the 21st century. The South China Sea area includes waters and land located in the archipelago of two large islands, namely the Spratlys and Paracels, as well as the banks of the Macclesfield and Scarborough Reef Rivers which stretch from Singapore, from the Malacca Strait to the Taiwan Strait. As this vast territory has often been subjected to successive control by neighboring rulers, several countries, such as the People's Republic of China (PRC), Taiwan, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Brunei Darussalam, have engaged in confrontational attempts to claim, over large parts of the entire territory. . While on the one hand Indonesia supports the prospect of peace in the South China Sea for economic development and domestic stability, Indonesian policymakers are concerned about China's interpretation of its South China Sea claims, which also includes reserves of natural gas and other natural resources. inside it. On the other hand, Indonesia is committed to defending the rights of the archipelagic state as stated in UNCLOS.

Abstract

Mas banana (Musa acuminata Colla) peel is a type of household waste as well as agricultural waste whose utilization still needs to be improved. In addition, among various types of heavy metals that are dangerous as contaminants in the environment, cadmium metal is a metal that is very dangerous to health even in very small amounts. Therefore, this study aims to not only utilize the waste of Mas banana peel (Musa acuminata Colla) as a biosorbent, but also to determine the optimum conditions needed to reduce cadmium metal which involves several test parameters, namely stirring time, pH and mass of biosorbent. Variations of stirring time used include 10, 20, 30, 35, and 45 minutes; variations in pH used include 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, while variations in the mass of biosorbent used include 0.5; 1; 1.5; 2 and 2.5 grams. The results showed that the optimum conditions were obtained at a mixing time of 35 minutes, pH 5, and a mass of 2 grams of biosorbent with a reduction percentage value of 78.45%. This percentage indicates that Mas banana peel can be used as a natural adsorbent for cadmium metal. In addition, the results of the FT-IR analysis of the Mas banana peel biosorbent showed that Mas banana peel has a functional group that plays a role in the heavy metal adsorption process.
