Abstract

Die casting is a casting process in which molten metal is poured into a mold by injection using a piston driven by pneumatic/hydraulic energy. In some cases, the resulting product does not match the desired design because defects will occur if the configuration is not correct. There are several defects that commonly occur in the Die casting process such as cold shot, shrinkage, bubble, warping, undercut, etc. With the help of computers, these problems are expected to be reduced. Using inspire cast to visualize the injection process will facilitate the analysis of the Die casting process. With the help of this software, a better configuration can be created and implemented into the machine. However, the results are different, when simulating in the software it is said that the molten metal streams from different gates are above the recrystallization temperature of 665°C so it should harden and fuse better when the two molten metal streams meet. However, after implementing the new configurations into the machine, the process defects were still high at 23% for configuration 1 and 13% for configuration 2 compared to 6% for the existing configuration. However, implementing this software will reduce the cost of trial and error process to find a new configuration for a new material.

Abstract

One of the fermented traditional drinks that can have a health effect is kombucha. The materials that can be used in making kombucha is wuluh starfruit leaves. The research was conducted to determine the effect of sugar concentration of the physical, chemical characteristic, and antioxidant activities of wuluh starfruit leaf kombucha tea. This research is an experimental study with a complete randomized design method (CRD) consisting of 3 treatments. Kombucha wuluh starfruit leaves are made with a sugar concentration of 10%, 15% and 20%. The physical characteristics tested include organoleptic tests and the chemical characteristics include a test of the pH value, the total levels of titrated acids (tat), phenolics statistically  analyzed  using  the Kruskal Wallis test and the Mann Whitney test. The alcohol data and antioxidant activity (IC50) were analyzed descriptively. The results of the Kruskal Wallis test  have a significant difference in the pH. The best result based on the physical, chemical characteristic and antioxidant activity is were kombucha with a sugar concentration of 10% with a pH value of 3, a tat content of 0.11%, a phenolic content of 87.33 mg/ml GAE, an alcohol content of 0.41% and an IC50 value of 3.65 ppm.

Abstract

Stemming is vital in text processing. The stemming that is most often encountered is Indonesian and English stemming. This is because more articles are processed in text processing in English and Indonesian. Indonesia has several regional languages, especially local school content, often used in learning. Therefore, research is needed to process Javanese language texts to make it easier for education practitioners, especially in Ngoko Javanese. Ngoko Javanese stemming, which still uses the affix removal stemmers method (rule-based approach) in previous research. Has a problem, namely the lack of success of this method when returning the root words of Ngoko Javanese, so it is necessary to check the Ngoko Javanese dictionary so that the results of the root words obtained are maximized. This study aims to conduct stemmer research on Ngoko Javanese using the Enhanced Confix Stripping (ECS) method. This stemmer is designed to do word splitting according to the Enhanced Confix Stripping algorithm and through checking the dictionary adapted to the Ngoko Javanese language. The results of this study are the ability to extract essential words in Javanese Ngoko to achieve a level of truth in returning root words reaching 97 percent.

Abstract

Salah satu strategi dalam mengatasi permasalahan rendahnya produksi jagung pada lahan kering beriklim kering di Madura adalah merakit varietas yang toleran terhadap kekeringan dan mempunyai potensi produksi tinggi.  Langkah awal dalam perakitan varietas yang toleran terhadap kekeringan adalah melakukan seleksi terhadap plasma nutfah (genotip) potensial untuk mengetahui toleransi setiap genotip yang diuji terhadap cekaman kekeringan.  Tujuan Penelitian adalah untuk untuk menyeleksi beberapa genotip tanaman jagung yang tahan terhadap cekaman kekeringan.  Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Lengkap (RAKL) dengan 20 genotip dan diulang sebanyak 3 kali sehingga terdapat 60 unit percobaan. 20 genotip terdiri dari 19 galur jagung potensial dan varietas Anoman sebagai pembanding. Penelitian cekaman kekeringan mengikuti metode CIMMYT, yaitu cekaman kekeringan berlangsung pada saat tanaman berumur 50 hari setelah tanam (HST) sampai panen tetapi memberikan pengairan dengan kapasitas lapang  mulai 0 HST sampai 40 HST dengan interval 10 hari sekali.  Pada kondisi optimum, pengairan dilakukan dengan interval 10 hari sekali dengan cara memberikan pengairan sampai pada kapasitas lapang mulai tanaman berumur berumur 0 HST sampai tanaman berumur 80 HST.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa G3, G6, G8, G15, dan G18 merupakan genotip yang tahan terhadap cekaman kekeringan.

Abstract

Produktivitas jagung  yang rendah di Pulau Madura disebabkan oleh ketersediaan air yang rendah.  Salah satu strategi yang digunakan untuk mengatasi permasalahan rendahnya produktivitas jagung di Madura adalah dengan merakit varietas jagung yang tahan terhadap cekaman kekeringan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ketahanan kandidat jagung hibrida pada fase perkecambahan menggunakan Polyethylene Glicol (PEG 6000). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode RAL (Rancangan acak lengkap) dengan dua faktor yaitu genotip jagung dan konsentrasi PEG 6000. Semua genotip dikecambahkan dengan metode uji kertas gulung dalam plastik (UKDdp), kemudian dilembabkan menggunakan campuran aqudesh dengan PEG 6000 sesuai perlakuan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) pada taraf 5 % dan apabila menunjukkan pengaruh nyata maka dilakukan uji lanjut Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa genotip jagung dan Konsentrasi PEG 6000 berpengaruh terhadap semua parameter yang diujikan sehingga terdapat perbedaan karakter antara genotip satu dengan genotip lainnya. Genotip yang tahan terhadap cekaman kekeringan pada fase perkecambahan menggunakan PEG 6000 adalah G1 dan G5. Genotip yang moderat toleran adalah G3, G7, dan G8, sedangkan genotip yang peka terhadap cekaman kekeringan adalah G2, G4, G6, G9, dan G10.
