Abstract

This research was about “Tress diversity on the two different types of forest in area of Lore Lindu National Park in Bobo Village, Central Sulawesi Province”. This research was carried out on April o june 2013 in Bobo Village, area of Lore Lindu Nasional Park, Sigi District, it aimed at finding out the trees diversity of the two different types of forest in Bobo Village, area of Lore Lindu Nasional Park, Central Sulawesi province, This research was explorative Survey research used single portion method which employed purposive sampling, The result showed that on the secondary forest type was found 90 individuals out of 40 species of trees which comprised of 29 families. The species of tree which had the highest INP value was Areca Vestiaria Giseke (27,04 %) and the lowest was Polyscias nodosa (0,01 %). In the primary forest type was found 88 individuals out of 14 species of trees which comprised of 11 families. The species of tree which had the highest INP value was Syzygium Polycephaloides (56,93%) and the lowest was Oreochnide rubescens (3,29%). Diversity level of vegetation (H`) on the secondary forest type classified as the highest, whilst on the primary forest type classified as moderate (2,42 %). Index of congruence of both types of forest showed that there was a difference among communities of both forest. Keywords: Lore Lindu Nationa parkl, Bobo village, Diversity, Trees.

Abstract

This research was about “ The Usage of Liquid Waste of Tempe and Liquid Waste of Tofu by Using Different Inoculum to Produce Biogas”. The objective of the research was to use liquid waste of tempe and tofu by using different inoculum in producing biogas, finding out the interaction between the waste and microba inoculum in producing biogas, finding out the biggest amount of gas produced by liquid waste of tempe and tofu by using different inoculum in producing biogas and finding out the best time for fermentation in producing biogas. This research was designed by using Factorial Pattern of Complete Random Design (RAL) 2x2 comprising 4 treatments and 3 times repetition. The treatment examined was P1 )Liquid Waste of tempe + Rumen), P2 (Liquid Waste of tofu + Rumen), P3 (Liquid Waste of tempe + Rumen Contents), P4 (Liquid Waste of tofu + cow feces ) with the comparison of every treatment 50% :50%. Based on the research result, it shows that every treatment examined can produce biogas. The highest volume of examined treatment is P1 treatment (Liquid Waste of tempe + Rumen Contents) which was 57.15cm3. The best time for fermentation was the third day (72 hours). Keywords: Liquid Waste of tempe, Liquid Waste of tofu, Inoculum and Biogas.

Abstract

The title of this research is “Herbs plant species diversity at two forest types of Lore Lindu National Park at Bobo village in Central Sulawesi. This research was conducted on May to July 2013. The objective of this research was to learn and to know about, diversity of herbs species at two forest types at Bobo village Lore Lindu National Park of Central Sulawesi. The type of this research is exploratory survey research by using the establishment of a single plot (50 x 50 m) followed by subplot (2 x 2 m) were placed on regular basis (systematic). The results of this research showed that there were sixteen (16) species of herbs plant in primary forest and twenty two (22) species in secandary forest. The Aglaonema simplex Blume (Araceae) was highest IVI of herb in primary forest (42.03%), the other hand Tacca palmata Blume (Taccaceae) was highest in secandary forest (38.80%). The value of Similarity Indeks between two forest types studied was 69.04%. Based on the FIV Index the primary forest and secandary forest were dominated by Araceae. Keywords : Herbs, The Village of Bobo, Lore Lindu National Park, Central Sulawesi.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to characterize the growth rate of mycelium of oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus). It’s expected that the out come of this study is to find out the best medium which suitable for oyster mushroom propagation. The experiment was designedbased oncompletely randomized design(CRD) consistingof 6 treatmentsand 3 repetitions. The treatment were various ratio of rice bran and corn on the growth medium. The ratio used as treatment (rice : corn) were 100:0 (P1), 80:20 (P2), 60:40 (P3), 40:60 (P4),80:20 (P5), 0:100 (P6). Result of experiment showed that medium P3 was the bestin supporting the growth rate of mycelia which in average of 8,45 mm/day. It were higher than it in other media P4 (7,95 mm/ day), P6 (7,45 mm/ day), P5 (7,08 mm/ day), P1 (6,33 mm/ day) and P2 (5,5 mm/ day). Mycelia on this medium was growth faster that mycelium on the other medium. Keywords: Growthrate,Oyster Mushroom(Pleurotus ostreatus), ricebran (Oryza sativaL), corn (Zea maysL)

Abstract

Traditional medical treatment is one of the ways to lower the glucose level in the blood. It is a plant Garcinia rostrata Hassk.ex Hook.f one of the plants which has a potential to lower the glucose level in blood. This is supported by alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin efficacious as an anti-diabetic. Therefore, hypoglycemia activity of Garcinia rostrata Hassk.ex Hook.f root extract test was conducted by using glucose tolerance and alloxan methods at mice. The objective of this research is to know the hypoglycemia activities of Garcinia rostrata Hassk.ex Hook.f root extract and to know the effective dosage of Garcinia rostrata Hassk.ex Hook.f to lower the glucose in blood of the male mice by utilizing glucose tolerance and alloxan induction method. Garcinia rostrata Hassk.exHook root extract was taken trough reflux method by using 96% ethanol as distillation. In addition, a test by using male mice (Mus musculus) was conducted, where the mice were grouped into five groups, those were controlled glibenclamide positive group, negative control Na CMC 0,5%, dosage 1 (130 mg/Kg BW), dosage 2 (195 mg/kg BW), and dosage 3 (230 mg/Kg BW). The results showed that the root extract of Garcinia rostrata Hassk.ex Hook.f have hypoglycemic activity and effective dose for lowering blood glucose levels in glucose tolerance method is 3 (230 mg / kg bw)doses, while a dose of 1 (130 mg / kg bw) have the effect of lowering blood glucose levels were not significantly different with 2 (195 mg / kg bw) doses and 3 (230 mg / kg bw) doses but it's better than the positive control glibenclamide on alloxan induction method. Keywords: Garcinia rostrata Hassk.ex Hook.f root, glucose tolerance, alloxan induction.
