Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of digital-based da'wah communication in preserving the Randai tradition in Bukittinggi City, West Sumatra, using a qualitative approach with literature analysis. Data were collected from various academic articles, books, and digital content discussing Randai and its integration with Islamic values through digital platforms. The analysis was conducted thematically to identify communication strategies, challenges, and the role of digital platforms in promoting cultural sustainability. The findings reveal that digital da'wah has been instrumental in reintroducing and preserving the Randai tradition, especially among the younger generation. Platforms such as YouTube and Instagram are often used to share Randai-related content, combining cultural narratives with Islamic teachings. Key strategies include the use of engaging visual content, and interactive discussions that highlight the philosophical and moral values embedded in Randai. However, the research also identified challenges such as limited internet access in rural areas, cultural resistance to modernization, and a lack of digital literacy among Randai practitioners, which hinder the wider adoption of digital proselytization for cultural preservation. The study concludes that digital proselytization provides a viable pathway to bridge the generation gap and encourage cultural preservation in the modern era. Effective collaboration between the cultural community and local government is essential to enhance the sustainability of the Randai tradition through innovative digital strategies.

Abstract

Drug abuse among adolescents is a pressing problem in Indonesia, with adverse impacts on the mental, spiritual and social health of users. This research explores the application of dakwah management integration in Islamic counselling guidance, specifically through prayer and dhikr, in improving the social skills of drug abusers at Yayasan Lentera Mutiara, Mataram. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, producing data in the form of written or spoken words from observation. The research was conducted at Yayasan Lentera Mutiara Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, regarding the application of Islamic Counselling Guidance in drug abuse rehabilitation. Primary data was obtained from interviews with three clients (AS, JF, AN) who were inpatients for at least 3 months, and two counsellors with at least 2 years of experience. Secondary data includes written documents and actions. The results showed that Islamic counselling guidance through prayer and dhikr practices contributed significantly to the improvement of personality, more controlled social behaviour, good communication, and religious values of the clients. The programme creates a holistic rehabilitation approach that brings together spiritual and social aspects to help drug abusers undergo a comprehensive recovery process.

Abstract

This study explores how the philosophy of scientific logic serves as the foundational basis for integration‑interconnection within Islamic Guidance and Counseling (IGC). By examining its epistemological and logical framework, the research reveals a holistic paradigm that harmonizes normative‑spiritual Islamic values with the rational‑empirical principles of modern counseling. Using a qualitative library research approach, key reference books, national and international journals, and relevant academic literature on the philosophy of science, logic, and IGC were purposively selected. The literature was identified, reviewed in depth, and analyzed through Creswell’s stages of qualitative analysis: deep reading for initial insight; coding of significant information units; thematic grouping of codes; and interpretation of themes to uncover the role of scientific logic in shaping an integrative and interconnected counseling paradigm. Findings demonstrate that framing IGC through the lens of scientific logic restructures the relationship between contemporary counseling methods and Islamic values. Addressing ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions ensures consistency, validity, and coherence, enabling counseling to engage clients’ psychological, spiritual, and cultural dimensions fully. Integration‑interconnection thus transcends technical combination, reconstructing IGC’s epistemological foundation to be holistic, transformative, and context-sensitive. The philosophy of scientific logic emerges as a strategic catalyst for developing a coherent and sustainable IGC framework.
