Abstract

In embedded-system designs that involve just a small capacity voice-recorder, one may use EEPROM or voice-recorder IC. However, sometimes one needs a high capacity voice recorder also. In this case, EEPROM can’tfulfill the needs anymore because it’s hard to get EEPROM with capacity even at 512 kbyte. Meanwhile, the ISD® voice-recorder IC could store voice up to 16 minutes only. For this background, the writer proposes a high-capacity digital voice recorder which is able to record voice for several hours. It uses SD Card as the storage media.. With sampling rate at 8 kHz/8 bit and 512 MB SD Card, the recorder can store voice until 18 hours. The recorded voices are stored in WAV file format so that can be transfered from and to PC when needed.

Abstract

Jatropha seed shell (Jatropha curcas Linn) produced as wastes of jatropha oil manufacturing can be convertedto activated charcoal. The purpose of this experiment was to investigate the characteristic of activatedcharcoal produced from jatropha seed shell and to analyze its quality to ground water. The seed shells werecarbonized into charcoal at 500°C for 3 hour. The charcoal was activated at 800°C and 900°C for 0, 30, 60, and 90min. The results showed that moisture content, volatile matter content, iodine and methylene blue adsorption hadqualify met to the standards of quality activated charcoal powder according to SNI 06-3730-1995. Most of valueof fixed carbon met the qualify standard while ash content did not meet the standards. Based on the adsorptivecapacity of iodine, the charcoal increased the quality of ground water as recommended by the Ministry of Healthof 416/Menkes/Per/IX/1990.

Abstract

The alien species phenomenon is one of the greatest concerns in environmental issue. This research was held since October 2011 until Januari 2012 in Ir. H. Djuanda Reservoir, West Java. The study aims to describe the potential of Amphilophus citrinellus threatening invasion in Ir. H. Djuanda Reservoir referring to its ecobiological aspects. Total number of fish caught during research period was 657 fish. Six of 12 species caught were indigenous species. Midas cichlid dominated the amount of fish caught, with total length and weight ranging between 62–210 mm and 4.81–187.18 gram, respectively. It had adapted well and not only survived and grown in somatic but also grown in gonadic without being affected by season change. This fish is omnivore and usually consumes all sources of food within the feeding area. Other fish species thought to be utilized in the same way with the small, medium, and the large-sized Midas Cichlid is Barbonymus balleroides. This fish is an invasive potential for this particular region and controlling its population is a must.

Abstract

In health care provision, puskesmas (Community Health Center) can be described as street level bureaucracythat has important role in improving health services. The study aimed to analyze political intervetion inhealth service provision. This study used Michael Lipsky theory about street level bureaucracy and Karl Marxtheory about class and state to analyze pattern of intervention. This case study research was conducted in SouthKrembangan, Surabaya. Observation and secondary data analysis are the main tools to trace the pattern of localgovernment intervention in primary health care at puskesmas. The result shows that local government has beenbeing admitted indirect intervention in health service provision. The intervention was proved by the puskesmastreatment that referred to implement curative program from promotive and preventive that was actually its dutyand main function.

Abstract

The data acquisition of the post-fire construction is done by visual observation, dimension measure-ment, concrete field testing and also laboratory testing. Visual observation above the third floor which is directly on fire, indicate serious damages with the result that all of the building component above the third floor must be replaced by a new construction. The testing of building material shows that the grade of concrete component which is directly fired has fc '=6.8 MPa, while the non-fired component has fc'=15.2 MPa. The structural analysis shows that most of the building components at the first and the second floor are able to be functioned with a little repair of longitudinal balk at their support section to increase bending capacities.

Abstract

Nitrate is considered as a pollutant in freshwater or estuarine ecosystem which caused eutrofication. Bacteria can be used to reduce nitrate by denitrification process. The aim of this research was to find out the influence of carbon sources and aeration on denitrification of isolated ASLT2 bacteria. The sources of carbon were acetate, succinate, glucose and glycerol under aerob and anaerob conditions. The denitrification process was measuredat seventh day. Isolated ASLT2 bacteria was able to reduce nitrate aerobically and anaerobically in various of carbon sources. The highest activity of aerobic nitrate reduction was found by using acetate as carbon source and anaerobically was found by using succinate as carbon source.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study the efficacy of bio-additive (a mixture of Lumbricus rubellus meal extract, Morinda citrifolia leaf extract and lactic acid bacteria ), probiotics, and antibiotics on the prevalence co- libacillosis and healthy status of broiler that infected by E. coli strain Avian Pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC). A total of 140 DOC were distribute randomly into 20 units of cage, each filled with 7 chickens were arranged in a completely randomized desig . Twenty cages were divided into 5 group , each treatment consisted of 4 replicates. The treatment group consisted of treatment A = infection of E. coli positive control), B = infection of E. coli + bio- additiv , C = infection of E. coli + probiotic , D = infection of E. coli + antibiotic , E = no E. coli infection negative contro). Feed base on corn- soybean is formulated as a basal fee . The experiments were conducted for 35 days, on day 21 chickens infected E. coli. ND vaccination is given at the age of four days and 15 days. The observed parameters were changes of macroscopic, isolation and identification of E. coli, changes in histopathology, blood profiles and antibody titer against ND. Results showed the prevalence colibasillosis on treatment B resulted in the lowest rate (33.3), results in the isolation and identification of chicken with positive clinical symptoms kolibasilosis infected APEC, and microscopic observations showed histopathological changes in the organs pancreas, heart, liver, and exchanges fabrisius lung. The results of the blood profile analysis showed the presence of the body’s defense mechanism against bacterial infectio , which is evident from the number of leukocytes in treatment A and C are higher tha treatment E (P> 0.0 ), red cell count treatment D higher than E treatment (P> 0.0 ), and total of Hb treatment A higher than treatment E P> 0.0 ). Based on the overall health status, it can be concluded that the administration of bioaditif decrease the prevalence o  colibasillosis 67.7 % .
