Abstract

This study aimed to determine changes in ground water level against time to recharge the unit models with medium sand soil in cloudburst conditions, to determine the effect of changes in humidity land in heavy rain conditions and for the efficiency of the model unit catchment .. By using the model infiltration unit made from box 170x170x200 cm3 and infiltration well with dimensions of 30x30x100 cm3 filled with 90 cm thick layer of sandy soil . The results showed that changes in ground water level is 18.8 % , 22.4 % and 24 % for the test I, II, III , respectively .. Soil moisture for the test I ran to saturation at 110 minutes , while for II and III trials in the 90th minute . Unit efficiency filtration models in improving the soil surface water is 3.6 % . This suggests that these filtration units of the model can reduce surface water runoff and increasing groundwater levels.

Abstract

Pilar merupakan bagian dari struktur bawah jembatan. Keberadaan pilar pada aliran sungai menyebabkan perubahan pola aliran sungai. Perubahan pola aliran tersebut akan mengakibatkan terjadinya gerusan lokal di sekitar pilar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh bentuk pilar terhadap potensi gerusan lokal yang terjadi di sekitar pilar tersebut.Penelitian ini dilakukan pada kondisi aliran seragam permanen (steady uniform flow) dengan tiga variasi debit. Model fisik pilar yang digunakan adalah bentuk pilar persegi, bentuk pilar bulat dan bentuk pilar jajaran genjang. Hasil yang didapat dari rangkaian penelitian ini adalah semakin besar debit yang mengalir pada suatu penampang saluran maka gerusan lokal di sekitar pilar juga akan semakin dalam dan bentuk yang terbaik pada penelitian ini adalah bentuk bulat karena mempunyai potensi kedalaman gerusan yang terkecil.

Abstract

The main objective of this study is to use a good method to control the robot that capable of detecting the presence of light and avoiding obstacles in front of the robot without hitting the obstacles that may obstruct it. Legged robot uses sensors to detect the presence of photodioda the firelight and ultrasonic sensors (PINGTM) is to detect the presence or absence of obstacles so that legged robots are able to walk without bumping into obstacles that may obstruct it. A servo motor was used for driving the wheel of the feet. In this research, legged robots have been able to go scour the walls and extinguish the fire.

Abstract

Mesin pompa yang menggunakan mesin bensin merupakan salah satu mesin konversi energi jenis pembakaran dalam motor dengan menggunakan bahan bakar bensin (C8H18). Maksud penulisan ini adalah untuk menyampaikan hasil atas suatu penelitian tentang efek penggantian bahan bakar bensin dengan  minyah tanah pada mesin pompa air. terhadap volume air dan konsumsi bahan bakar. Analisis dan interprestasi data dilakukan dengan cara Analisis Kuantitatif. Untuk menguji dua sampel kecil yang berpasangan maka digunakan Test Hipotesa pengujian dua sisi (Djarwanto Dan Pangestu Sudibyo; 1985: 191) dengan level of significance sebesar 0,01. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa volume air yang dihasilkan oleh pompa air yang menggunakan bahan bakar bensin dan minyak tanah terdapat perbedaan yang cukup signifikan, dengan taraf signifikansi 1 % karena harga t terhitung 3,883 tidak terletak diantara harga tabel t yakni -3,182 sampai 3,182. Bahan Bakar yang dihabiskan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan karena harga t terhitung 0,24057 terletak diantara t pada tabel yakni -3,182 sampai 3,182. Jika dilihat dari beaya yang digunakan untuk mengairi sawah satu petak (1250m3) untuk minyak tanak lebit irit Rp. 7.370,- sedangkan dari segi waktu maka bensin lebih irit yakni 3 jam.

Abstract

Construction of a building project or the others structures needs cost, so that the project can be realized. Before an owner continues the project to the design or construction steps, the cost must be provided. The cost often becomes a problem because amount of the cost is limited to realize a construction project. The objective of this study is to select good alternative materials without declining the quality and function of the building as well as to find the value of cost efficiency on the Project of the BPK’s Office Building Construction of Yogyakarta by Value Engineering method. Value Engineering is a management thenique with systematic approach for finding the balance among cost, reliability, and performance of a product or a project. The study on the Project of the BPKP’s Office Building Construction of Yogyakarta was done on the structure work only, namely: plate, beam, column and sloof works with giving alternative materials for getting the best alternative by work plan of Value Engineering. The Value Engineering method was applied on structure components by systematic and creative approach trough work plan of Value Engineering using the following steps: an information, functional analysis, creative, development, writing and presentation steps. All steps were done continuesly and the result was expected giving efficiency from the previous design. From the application of Value Engineering, it is concluded that the cost efficiency is about 2.53% of total cost of structure work by application.

Abstract

Corporate awareness of the importance of technology’s support in supporting efficiently and effectively business activities is increase. It is also being pursued by PKIS XYZ to manage their business activities. PKIS XYZ experiencing problems which only able to manage 33,33% of their raw materials, while the rest should be managed by another company which incidentally is their competitor. This is certainly not profitable for the company. This research will analyse business processes in PKIS XYZ which are not optimal implemented. The findings obtained will be used as a material planning what technology to be applied in an attempt to optimize the business activities of the company. The output of this research is recommendation of future application portfolio that important to be applied in PKIS XYZ. Framework used in this study was Ward and Peppard, with SWOT and  Mc Farland's Strategic as a tool.

Abstract

The accuracy of foil resistance strain gauge (FRSG) for strain wave propagation measurement along metallic rods, i.e. aluminium, brass, copper and steel rods, subjected to impact load has been investigated. Hexagonal cross section of 5/8” sides × 6’ long metallic rods have been selected for specimens. At a distance of 8” from one end of each rod, an EA-09-125AD-120 type foil resistance strain gauge with gauge factor of 2.105 and resistance of 120W was installed. The rods were then placed on a pair of supports and loaded at the other end surface with an impact loading generated using an impulse hammer. The set up was also instrumented with a typical potentiometer circuit as a signal transducer, and an oscilloscope for signal acquisition. The output signals were then analysed by comparing with their respective theoretical values. The result showed that these FRSGs had demonstrated high accuracy in signal sensing indicated by negligible discrepancies between experimental values on one hand and their respective theor etical values on the other hand.

Abstract

The effectiveness of rice husk on pack carburizing process of low-carbon steel was investigated. The process was carried out at 850°C for 2, 4 and 6 hours. Carbon content of the specimen materials is 0.082%. Rice husk charcoal and rice husk powder was then compared to graphite powder. All of the media were sifted on 50 mesh sieve. After the process, all specimens were reheated up to 850°C, and then, hold it for 5 minutes. Subsequently, they were quenched into water at 28°C. The result shows that the effectiveness of rice husk charcoal is better than those of other media being used in the investigation. Six hours pack carburizing utilized, rice husk charcoal resulted in the enhancement of steel surface hardness from 122 VHN to 465 VHN and increase of the proportion of martensite structure.

Abstract

The Gajah Wong bridge to be studied is located in road section of Selokan Mataram, connecting Gejayan Street and Seturan area, Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta Province. This bridge was built in order to increase economic and to support traffic activities in this area. Gajah Wong bridge has 40 m span. The designing of this bridge used I girder, and then would be done redesigning another form of prestressed-concrete bridge which is box girder. This redesign method being used is Bridge Management System (BMS) 1992. Excel is used to analyze the structure. AutoCAD 2010 software was utilized for scetching the design. Girder designed using prestressed concrete structures with cross-sectional profile of a trapezoid -shaped box girder type . In designing the structure beam is used full - prestress post-tensioning with trapezoidal cross section box with 2.5 m high with 0,3 m floor-slab thickness. Prestressed-steel using  7 strands which is based on ASTM A-416 specification and used angkur 28 pieces of VSL type E-55.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to find out the service quality to passenger the train of Prambanan Ekspres (Prameks), passengers perception about the train, and the reason for choosing the train. Data of passenger characteristic and service quality to passengers  were collected by using questionnaire distributed to 379 passenger. To analyze the results questioner used Excel. Quality of services provided by PT . KAI  is quite satisfactory for the passengers. Prambanan Express The Train is the most desirable public transport for traveling Yogyakarta - Solo, because travel costs are cheaper , practical , safer and more comfortable than any other transport.
