Abstract

This library study sought to investigate the implementation of online learning activities during the Covid-19 outbreak. To increase the reliability, robustness, and comprehensibility forming in this small-scale library study, the researcher employed a thematic analysis while clustering the most identical research findings from 30 previous online learning activity studies into some thematically categorized themes. As the topmost prioritization of this small-scale library investigation was to generate more comprehensible, relatable, and applicable research results beneficial for the betterment of worldwide English language teaching-learning enterprises, the researcher selected 30 published online learning activity investigations uploaded in varied journal article platforms ranging from 2020 to the 2022 year. Based on the data agglomeration final results, online learning activities promoted various advantages and disadvantages concerning EFL learners’ target language proficiency levels advancement and habitual classroom learning vicinities. Anchoring on this unassailable fact, globalized educational institutions and second language educators should work hand-in-hand to invent more contextual online learning dynamics currently matching with nowadays EFL learners’ learning needs, skills, and preferences.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to find out the functions of rhetocial moves and to find out the negative effects of rhetorical moves by Josep Biden. This research used the qualitative design. The data source of this research is the script that will be taken from Youtube channel. The channel containes news about the United States of American President, Joseph Biden, in announcing of oil banning over Ukraine conflict.The research shows that there are three distinct registers, namely the "formal," "consultative," and "casual" registers. The formal register predominates by a factor of 19% over any other. The objective of this formal register is to facilitate communication. Many individuals continue to be ill-equipped with register skills. They are unsure of how to properly construct sentences. They are hesitant to use such language. However, the register experiment will teach us how to use register effectively

Abstract

Too much concentration and attention has been given to the significant degree of professional development growth without focusing on cultivating more robust educational motivation among globalized EFL educators. To compensate for this previous research drawback, this small-scale library study attempted to profoundly investigate the extent strong motivation strategies can impart extensive support for worldwide EFL educationalists to induce more supportive and positive second language learning climates in the presence of heterogeneous learners. Thus, the researcher thematically analyzed the identical findings generated by 30 previous EFL teachers’ motivational strategies studies. With the employment of a thematic analysis, the researcher could potentially yield more credible, relevant, and contextual research results since conscientious data interpretations were iteratively applied before grouping these particularly generated findings into some similar research theme categories. All these 30 previously published EFL teachers’ motivational strategies studies were adapted from 2017 to 2024 year. The last current 7 years of published studies were the topmost priority to ensure the trustworthiness of all the thematically-subsumed research findings to be in line with the major specific topic forming in this library investigation. The thematically divided research results revealed that robust EFL teachers’ motivational strategies significantly helped second language learners master the desired target language competencies and experience more enjoyable classroom learning climates.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The phenomenon of using code switching and code mixing has become a thing in multilingual communities which is common when daily communication activities take place. Apart from that, there is the phenomenon of code switching and code mixing is not only found in everyday communication activities, but this phenomenon also occurs in song lyrics, especially in the current digital music era This. Likewise, the songs on the album Salam by Haris J experienced a transfer phenomenon code and code mixing. This research describes the forms and factors of code switching and code mixing in the songs on the Salam album by Haris J. This research method using descriptive methods with a qualitative approach. Data collection technique in this research, the SBLC technique (simak bebas, libat cakap) and the Katat technique were used. Song lyric data containing code switching and code mixing is explained based on theory Poedjosoedarmo (1976) and Suwito (1983). Factors causing code switching and code mixing the explanation is based on Fishman's theory (in Chaer Leane, 2010) and Hoffman Troike (in Trilipita, 2016). The results of data analysis show a form of code switching in song lyrics the Salam album is temporary code switching, while the forms of code mixing are: 1) words, 2) clause, 3) phrase, 4) reword. The code-switching factors found were speaker, listener, and situation change. Code mixing factors foun namely: 1) Talking about a topic, 2) Efficiency conversation, 3) lexical needs, 4) fillers and sentence connectors

Abstract

Agricultural discourse is the result of conveying a message to increase the agrarian literacy of a community to become agriculturally literate. The goal of this research is to obtain an objective picture about the text structures, social cognition, and social contexts used in the construction of agricultural discourse to establish the agrarian literacy of farmers. The research uses a qualitative method with a symbolic interactionism design to study the way a social interaction is constructed and developed. The data collection methods used were documentation and a content review. The data sources for the research were newspapers and YouTube. The data analysis used a descriptive qualitative method with the stages of identification, classification, and interpretation. The results of the research show that (1) the text structures used to establish agrarian literacy include elements of semantics and syntax, (2) the forms of social cognition utilized by speakers to shape the discourse are person schemes, role schemes, and event schemes, and (3) the social contexts that influence speakers in carrying out encoding are food security and sovereignty, agricultural consultants, and millennial farmers.
