Abstract

This article provides a systematic literature review of the driving factors influencing the application of green supply chain management (GSCM). The GSCM adoption issues have been widely given attention by researchers and practitioners since the adoption of GSCM would impact significantly on an organization's environmental, social, and financial performance. Most GSCM adoption has been discussed in the perspective of logistics management activities such as procurement, manufacturing, transportation, and reverse logistics. Nowadays, the discussion of GSCM adoption in terms of the driving factors affecting a successful GSCM application has led to complexity. In this article, a further review and discussion are conducted in terms of the driving factors dealing with GSCM adoption, including three major points, such as the driving forces of green procurement, green manufacturing, and green distribution and reverse logistics adoption. The driving factors are reviewed to highlight the recent factors affecting GSCM adoption.  In this article, 94 papers from the past study are presented, associating each point of the discussion.

Abstract

This study aims to discover at the effects of the implementation of pack house in the supply chain of green bean from various aspects. The background of this study is the phenomenon of uneven distribution of pack house from the Department of Agriculture. The research object is involved 100 green bean’s farmers from Magelang. The used methods are observing, surveying, and interviewing in term of logistics cost. Multiple linear regression analysis is used to predict yields based on several cost components of green bean. There are two model equations that emerge from this method. The first equation assesses the relationship between yield and total production and transportation cost. This equation has the best significance value at the total cost of agricultural inputs. The second equation assesses the relationship between yield and the breakdown of the agricultural inputs. While the effects of pack house are to set as a non-agricultural operational hub that connect among stakeholders in green bean supply chain.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the impact of halal certification on the performance of food small-medium enterprises (SMEs). Specifically, this research aims to prove empirically whether there are significant differences in (1) profit margin of SMEs before and after obtaining a halal certificate; (2) profit margin between halal certified and non-certified SMEs; and (3) operational performance between halal certified and non-certified SMEs. Operational performance measures used in this study include production capacity, product quality, sales, net profit, amount of customers, customers' loyalty, and market share. A survey was conducted in 85 food SMEs in Surakarta city. Administered questionnaires were used to collect primary data from SMEs' managers. The differences regarding profit margin were analyzed using paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test. We determined the operational performance differences through non-parametric tests, namely the Mann Whitney U-test. Results based on objective data showed that there was no significant difference in the profit margin of SMEs before and after obtaining a halal certificate as well as between halal certified and non-certified SMEs. Results based on mean rank differences of subjective data of performance using the Mann Whitney U test showed that there were significant differences concerning all performance measures between halal certified and non-certified SMEs.

Abstract

The application of GSCM (Green Supply Chain Management) practice in the leather tanning industry in Yogyakarta is still relatively difficult because the industry prefers manufacturing systems that can accelerate profit uplift without considering environmental quality. Therefore, this research attempts to measure GSCM performance applied in the leather tanning industry, particularly at PT. Asa Yogyakarta. The method used in this research is Green SCOR (Green Supply Chain Operations Reference) and AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process). Data collection in this research was by identifying the company's GSCM activities, then compiling performance indicators that refer to the green SCOR method. Weighting performance indicators are conducted to determine the importance of each performance indicator by using the AHP method. The results of this research indicate that the application of GSCM is quite good with the average value of the total GSCM performance 90, despite several improvements that are necessary to enhance the performance.

Abstract

This study aims to present a fuzzy logic approach in the modeling of optimal order quantities of chicken eggs to suppliers. Determination of the number of egg orders using fuzzy logic by considering the condition of supply and demand so that the number of eggs ordered by Agent eggs is optimal so that the amount of stock in the warehouse is reduced. The variables used in developing the fuzzy set model are the price of eggs/crates, the composition of the weight of eggs in the crates, and the amount of stock of eggs in the warehouse at the time of ordering. The membership set for egg ordering uses the Triangular and Trapezoidal membership functions. The fuzzy set model produced in this study can be used as a tool for decision making in determining the optimal number of egg orders to suppliers.

Abstract

One aspect that needs to be assessed to make better product is usability.  Testing the level of usability on BIMO hand is performed using adapted Southampton Hand Assesment Procedure (SHAP) method. Users are given the task of using prosthetic hand to perform daily activities according to performance measurement rules. Based on the opinion of Jacob Nielsen, the theory used to measure usability are 5 main parameters, i.e: Learnability, Memorability, Efficiency, Satisfaction, and Errors. Testing is done by giving 15 task daily activity to the respondent. After testing, respondents were given USE questionnaires (Usefulness, Satisfaction and Ease of use) as a media for usability assessmentand received suggestions from respondents. Some suggestions were obtained from the respondents after the research was conducted, such as the size of the product, censoric product respond, the suitability shape and weight of product. Based on the percentage of USE questionnaire assessment known Usability Prosthetic hand level tested is in the status of GOOD, this indicates the respondents feel the product is good to use.

Abstract

Lifting, pushing, and pulling activities combined with excessive material load and intense repetition have been reported to trigger excessive pressure on the lumbar disk (L5/S1).  Using a static biomechanical approach (3DSSPP Version 7 software), this study presents empirical evidence proving that log loading activities with manual techniques are jobs that pose a high risk of injury to workers, indicated by (1) very high lifting index value (10), (2) compressive force that exceeds the maximum permissible limit of 6500 N, (3) difficult standing balance control, and (4) high potential of localized musculoskeletal fatigue in the workers.  Musculoskeletal disorders analysis (using the Standardized Nordic Questionnaire instrument) shows intense disturbances in the lower back, shoulders, upper back, and hands.  Interventions to reduce injury to the workers can be carried out by substituting work techniques (using aids devices), improving work administration (improving the standard operating procedure, supervision), and wearing anti-slip work shoes.

Abstract

The increasing population in Yogyakarta City has implications for consumption and solid waste production activities. The waste collection process is the most expensive one in municipal waste management. It is necessary to determine the optimal route for municipal waste collection. In this research, we developed a vehicle routing problem (VRP) with a heterogeneous fleet, multiple trips, intermediate facility, and split delivery to approach the Yogyakarta City waste collection problem. We proposed a hybrid genetic algorithm (GA) to solve the VRP. The result of this study shows that developed VRP can be used to solve the Yogyakarta City waste collection problem.

Abstract

Employees are valuable asset in an organization. The organization can be defined as two types namely a profit or nonprofit company, and government institution. Employees as a capital human for these organization have big roles for performance measurement. Performance measurement of employee is used to determine whether the worker has been working efficient or not. Workload analysis is defined as analysis of a set or number of activities that must be completed by an organizational unit or position holder within a certain period of time. In this research, it will show employee workload analysis using two approaches in order to complete each other. Firstly, work sampling method was used to determine workload in physically. Secondly, NASA-TLX was utilized to analyze workload in mentally. Pareto method will also take a part for analysis the research result to be more comprehensive. This research has conducted in an East Java’s University-Indonesia. The respondents are employees who have each job description to do their work in each position. The employee’s workload will be calculated both physical and mental. From 25 position observed, show the job position who has strategic characteristic mostly have very high mental workload whereas the job position who has operational characteristic mostly have high physical workload

Abstract

Inventory management and control are needed, especially for retailers, to make their business run smoothly. Inventory management is related to the purchase, storage, and sale of goods. Therefore, the determination of the right amount of inventory in hands is crucial in this situation. Low inventory levels will cause a higher probability of shortage, but on the other hand, having a lot of inventory in hands will incur higher holding costs, extra storage space, and deterioration of goods in hands. In this paper, we propose an inventory model with the inventory and price-dependent demand. We also consider a deterioration factor in our model. There are two models developed in this paper, namely the linear deterioration rate model with constant holding cost and the model of the deterioration rate with Weibull distribution with linear time-dependent holding cost. The purpose of the model is to find the optimal price and ending inventory level that maximizes the average profit. Sensitivity analysis is also performed to find the effect of parameter changes in our model to the optimum solution. We found that model with Weibull deterioration rate and linear holding costs will give a higher average profit.
