A good inventory management becomes crucial for a company since it is related to some inventory costs. In managing inventory, in general we need to determine the optimal order quantity and the optimal time to order. In some cases, when supplier offers discount, a company tends to accept this offer although it needs to consider its storage capacity. In this paper, we develop a multi-item probabilistic inventory model with all-units discount and storage space restriction. We employed the Kuhn-Tucker Conditions to find the optimal order policy. From the numerical experiments, we found that when the storage capacity increases then the optimal time to order and the optimal quantity increase but the total cost decreases.

Inventory management and control are needed, especially for retailers, to make their business run smoothly. Inventory management is related to the purchase, storage, and sale of goods. Therefore, the determination of the right amount of inventory in hands is crucial in this situation. Low inventory levels will cause a higher probability of shortage, but on the other hand, having a lot of inventory in hands will incur higher holding costs, extra storage space, and deterioration of goods in hands. In this paper, we propose an inventory model with the inventory and price-dependent demand. We also consider a deterioration factor in our model. There are two models developed in this paper, namely the linear deterioration rate model with constant holding cost and the model of the deterioration rate with Weibull distribution with linear time-dependent holding cost. The purpose of the model is to find the optimal price and ending inventory level that maximizes the average profit. Sensitivity analysis is also performed to find the effect of parameter changes in our model to the optimum solution. We found that model with Weibull deterioration rate and linear holding costs will give a higher average profit.

Determining a transport hub is a strategic decision to build a good distribution flow. In this paper, We suggested a model for choosing hub locations as sources for companies. In previous studies, The determination of hub locations with a vehicle routing problem is not integrated. Therefore, This study built a model to assess the position of the hubs by considering the budget. The business should have a decision on vehicle routing with hubs to reduce total transport costs. In addition, the method of distribution of goods for hubs and non-hubs with third-party logistics was determined by the use of a vehicle routing problem. The optimal weight obtained through the analysis of sensitivity. In the sensitivity analysis, This study found that the best choice in this study was to use a weight of 0.9–1.0. This provides the lowest total cost of transport.

Currently, the company competition is getting tighter. Distribution companies need to provide excellent service to their customers to maintain their competitiveness. Distribution service performance could be measured with lead time. However, Reducing lead times may increase costs. This problem could be solved using freight consolidation and reducing backhaul. Freight consolidation can be done by using a hub-and-spoke network with a combination of inbound and outbound distribution. This study developed a route model for hybrid hub-and-spoke with time windows. This model determined the routes for shipping goods to consumers and taking products to suppliers using the same vehicle to reduce the backhaul. This model also conducted freight consolidation at the hub. The decision variables in this model included the routes of delivery to consumers, the collection of goods at the suppliers, the number of products distributed through the hub and direct shipping, and the excellent distribution route. This model was implemented into the problems. Besides, a sensitivity analysis of the model was carried out.

The Location Routing Problem with Roaming Delivery Locations (LRPRDL) is a model that represents company activities in delivering products to final customers. Direct delivery to final customers has increased significantly over the growth of e-commerce in the world. E-commerce or business-to-customer companies are urged to increase their last-mile distribution efficiency to survive in the global competition. For that purpose, the LRPRDL model was proposed to increase the efficiency of the company’s last-mile distribution. The model aims to minimize the sum of open depots and transportation costs by determining the number and location of depots and the shipping routes. The LRPRDL was implemented in an instance with four depot candidates, 15 customers, and six vehicles. The instance was solved to the optimality by using a public solver Gurobi. Furthermore, this research conducted a sensitivity analysis on the open depots and fuel costs, customer demand, and radius. The study indicated that customer’s demand and radius have a significant impact on the purchase decision.
