Abstract

This research focuses on assessing implementing postponement in a cement industry especially for OPC (Ordinary Portland Cement) in Indonesia. The company offers three postponement points; Ciawi and Kampung Rambutan, and Jatiwarna. This research has been done with observational method to map customer condition. Moreover, implementing linear programming model is used to gain optimal solution for allocated truck. The results are, highest proportion of OPC customer is in Jakarta, followed Karawang, and Bogor. The result from linear programming model simulation, Ciawi point is assigned to serve Jakarta and Bogor’ customers, Kampung Rambutan point is assigned for Jakarta and Kawarang’ customers, and Jatiwarna point is prepared for Jakarta, Karawang, Bekasi, Lampung, Pekalongan, Tangerang, and Serang’ customers. So, implementing postponement can increase customer satisfaction without adding higher cost such as investment cost. The cement industry encounter effectiveness and responsiveness even tough, some problem shall be taken such as double administration process (manual and computerized).

Abstract

Human Resources (HR) is the most important asset in a company. Employees can be a good potential if managed properly and correctly, but employees can also be a burden if the company can not manage it properly. As the increase in the industry, particularly coal mining industry in East Kalimantan is always the problem that arises is the possibility of the occurrence of occupational accidents, occupational diseases, and environmental pollution. The occurrence of occupational accidents, occupational diseases, and environmental pollution due to poor human resource management can reduce employee productivity and company. Research objectives to be achieved is describing the safety and health of employees produkitivitas particularly in the production of PT. XYZ, Loa Kulu aquatic mammal, and to know the significant influence of each variable. Survey respondents were employees in the production of  PT. XYZ, Loa Kulu aquatic mammal with a high of 165 employees. By using the Slovin formula can be determined that a sample of respondents is as many as 99 employees.Based on the description of each item answer the answer of respondents indicated that employees responded positively to the questions given. Multiple regression analysis showed that there were significant effects of occupational safety and health of employee productivity, it can be seen from the significance of each variable is significant 0.05. Significance X1 to Y by 0.000, and the significance of X2 to Y by 0.017. Can be inferred by looking at the results of studies showing that the implementation of occupational safety and health on the productivity of employees of PT. XZY  Loa Kulu Kukar, generally not very good, is expected to be further enhanced supervision.

Abstract

CV. Gracia has offset printing machines that often have downtime due to engine failures. The low effectiveness of the offset printing machines could cause losses to the company. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method is a tool to determine the success rate of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) based on categories of availability, performance, and quality. The OEE average value of the company in 2014, 57%, is relatively low. In this study, causes of this low OEE is analyzed using Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and fishbone diagram. Improvements such as relocation of raw material and colourful catalog were subsequently proposed and implemented during April - May 2016. The implementation resulted in OEE average value of 60%.

Abstract

PT. PAH merupakan sebuah industri pemotongan batu magma (magma stone) yang terletak di jalan Magelang Km. 15 Yogyakarta. Di perusahaan pemotongan batu ini terdapat 3 ukuran pemotongan yaitu sirkel besar (diameter 160 cm), sirkel sedang (diameter 60 - 90 cm) dan sirkel kecil (diameter 30 - 50 cm). Penelitian ini khususnya pada pemotongan batu besar, dimana terdapat keluhan kelelahan operator yang terdiri dari operator utama dan operator pembantu. Penelitian dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat beban kerja fisik operator pemotong batu besar (sirkel 160) dengan metode 10 denyut. Dalam penelitian ini ditentukan lama waktu istirahat yang dibutuhkan operator utama maupun pembantu. Selanjutnya dilakukan implementasi waktu istirahat tersebut dan dilakukan pengukuran kembali untuk mengetahui penurunan denyut nadi kerja operator. Penerapan waktu istirahat tersebut membawa penurunan DNK operator masuk kategori ringan dan % CVL masuk kategori tidak terjadi kelelahan.

Abstract

Untuk mencapai kenyamanan dan keamanan dalam bekerja, dibutuhkan stasiun kerja yang sesuai dengan ukuran antropometri pemakainya. Namun di dalam proses pembentukan benda keramik yang menggunakan mesin Wheel (electric wheel) dengan teknik putar, memang dituntut untuk bekerja dengan sikap lebih banyak membungkuk karena objek yang dikerjakan membutuhkan tenaga tangan yang cukup kuat agar keramik yang dihasilkan sesuai dengan desain yang dirancang. Akibatnya sikap kerja menjadi tidak alamiah. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian cross-sectional dengan rancangan pre and post test group design, jumlah sampel sepuluh karyawan sebagai subjek penelitian. Data keluhan muskuloskeletal dan beban kerja yang diperoleh dianalisis secara statistik dengan uji t-paired pada tingkat kemaknaan α = 0,05 dan diperoleh hasil adanya keluhan muskuloskeletal adalah 42,47%, peningkatan beban kerja adalah 34,65%. Solusi yang dapat diberikan adalah perlu melakukan sikap kerja bervariasi, perlu melakukan istirahat pendek antara 0,5 - 1,0 menit setiap 10 menit jam kerja.

Abstract

This research deals with the problem of postponement facility siting for distributing OPC cements produced by PT. Semen Jawa. In order to obtain the optimum value of the site location, centre of gravity (CoG) method is applied. From calculation, a location in Jatiwarna, Bekasi with longitutede and latitude of -6.30687 dan 106.9311, respectively, is selected. I addition, for the reason of efficiency, it is suggested in this paper the PT. Semen Jawa should share a location of SCG batching plant in Kampung Rambutan as a postponement facility.

Abstract

Optimasi pelayanan kepada konsumen atau pembeli harus diutamakan oleh pihak pengelola dealer, karena hal ini merupakan salah satu tuntutan yang diharapkan konsumen, dan merupakan salah satu kunci untuk dapat memenangkan persaingan dengan dealer-dealer yang lain terutama dealer-dealer penyedia kendaraan bekas. Sehingga diharapkan dapat meningkatkan penjualan. Metode servqual merupakan metode yang digunakan untuk mengetahui kriteria-kriteria kualitas yang harus ditingkatkan kualitas pelayanannya berdasarkan gap yang terjadi antara persepsi dan harapan konsumen. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa ada lima kriteria yang harus diperhatikan dan perlu untuk ditingkatkan pelayanannya oleh pihak pengelola UD. Citra Santosa Motor yaitu: pelayanan kepada pembeli (customer service) dengan nilai –0,054, kondisi kendaraan bekas yang ditawarkan dengan nilai –0,044, harga kendaraan yang ditawarkan dengan nilai -0,027, kelengkapan fasilitas dan lokasi dealer yang strategis dengan nilai 0,057, serta jaminan garansi yang diberikan dengan nilai 0,071.

Abstract

This research aimed to present the Fuzzy approach in determining the optimal production capacity of the Nugget Production. The Fuzzy Model was developed by using two membership sets; i.e. the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) variable membership set of the production machine and Nugget Demand Forecasting. Nugget demand forecasting uses an exponential smoothing method due to its time-series type of query history data. OEE values were calculated using Availability, Performance and Quality Yield. In the Fuzzy approach, the Forecasting Membership Set uses the Triangular Membership Function type, and the OEE Membership Set uses the Trapezoidal Membership Function type. The fuzzy set model produced can be used as a tool for the company in determining the value of the Optimal Capacity production so that demands can be fulfilled and the product stocks decrease.

Abstract

Lemuru fisheries in Bali strait, Muncar, Banyuwangi has strategic role for fish canning industries. Sardinella lemuru has low economic value as fresh fish but high as fish canning. Fisheres production system must be viewed as a whole value added system, starting from landing site at fisheries port to fish processing industries and distributed to the consumers. Lemuru from Muncar fishery port are distributed to canning industries, cold storage, flour and fish oil industries. This research aims to (1) describe fish distribution pattern from landing site to industries, (2) determine fish processing cost in industries, (3) determine the economic added value of lemuru as various products. Data collection method are interview with fisher and industries, direct observation and secondary data from research report and scientific publication. Cost in fish processing industries is classified as investment cost, operating cost and overhead cost. The totalcost will becompared to the product price, from which the differenceis theadded value.  Value-added creation also considers the conversion rate between fresh fish products into finished products. Research  shows that, among the fish processing industries under consideration, canning industry has highest added value in the amount of USD 3.5 million/ton of finished product. For the canning industry, every 1 ton of fish can equal be converted to 1,5 ton of canned fish products. Flour and fish oil industry, in the meantime, generates added value of Rp 2.3million/ton. Finally, cold storage industry has lowest added value of 1.8 million/ton of product. Cold storage industry produces frozen fish and has a function for storing fish production in the harvest season.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate, identify and describe the performance level and the factor which impacts to the performance of the Perpustakaan Tun Seri Lanang (PTSL) using Balanced Scorecard approach. The descriptive analysis was used to proceed data on 4 perspectives, were financial, customer, internal business process and learning and growth, respestively. The questionnaires were distributed to 24 employees and 120 questionnaires were distributed to customers. The finding shosw that performance level of PTSL is in good category by the total score 41.75. Performance level of another perspective shows financial performance is very good by the total score 9, customer performance is good by the total score 3.62, internal business process performance is very good by the total score 8.79 and learning and growth performance is good by the total score the 19.34. Based on findings recommendation is formulated in order that PTSL should focus on employee productivity and customer satisfaction.
