Abstract

This study aims to develop a booklet of types of natural orchids that are used as teaching materials on plantae material for junior high school students. The booklet contains pictures of the original types of orchids found in the Jorong Harapan Tinggam Community Forest, Talamau District, West Pasaman by describing the characteristics, morphology, classification, reproduction and role of orchids in life. The development of this booklet uses a 4-D model consisting of define, design, develop, and disseminate phase. The research carried out is only up to the develop stage, namely the validity test. This research was conducted in February 2022 at the PGRI Sumatera Barat University. The instrument used is a validity questionnaire, which be judged by of three validators, namely botanists, learning media experts and junior high school biology topics experts. The booklet validator includes three aspects of the assessment in terms of the feasibility of the content getting a score of 89%, the linguistic aspect is 87%, the didactic aspect is 86%, and the graphic aspect is 85%. The booklet that was developed as a whole got very valid results with a validation value of 86.75%.

Abstract

AbstractLearning outcomes of Animalia grade X of Senior High School required students to have the ability to group animals into phyla based on body layers, body cavities, and body symmetry as well as reproduction and relate their role in life. for the learning requirements of the Animalia topic to be identified, observations and analyses were carried out on the problems of teachers, students, tools, and learning facilities. This research is a descriptive study. The research instruments used were interview questionnaires, book content analysis questionnaires, and literature studies. the data obtained were analyzed descriptively. Based on the results of interviews with biology teachers, information was received that the availability of library textbooks was very lacking. From the results of the analysis of the contents of the book, it was found that the explanation has been separated by perphyla but has not explained the classification of Animalia, and has not included its role in life. Analysis of the curriculum content found that the school had used the 2013 revised 2018 curriculum but the learning objectives had not been described by KD 3.9. Based on the analysis results, it has to develop teaching materials that are to student requirements.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the success rate of hatching olive ridley turtle eggs (Lepidochelys olivacea) in semi-natural nests. This study used a descriptive method by direct observation of turtle eggs from conservation activists. The research was carried out in two locations, namely at the Jambak Sea Turtle Camp location, 3 nests of olive ridley turtle eggs (79 turtle eggs in the first nest, 81 turtle eggs in the second nest and 96 eggs in the third nest). The second location is at UPT Pariaman Turtle Conservation with 2 nests (first nest 100 turtle eggs, second nest 80 turtle eggs). The results showed that the hatching percentage of olive ridley turtle eggs in semi-natural nests at UPT Pariaman Turtle Conservation was 63.89%, at Jambak Sea Turtle Camp 40.63%. It can be concluded that allocating turtle eggs to semi-natural nests increases the hatching success of olive ridley turtle eggs (Lepidochelys olivacea).

Abstract

The diversity of fish species in the Sangir River is still quite large, but there is no scientific data so that the types of fish caught in the Sangir River have not been accurately recorded. This study aims to identification the fish caught in the Sangir River Lubuk Malako. The method used in this study was a descriptive survey with a total sampling technique by assigning 3 stations with different water conditions. Sampling started from 25 June to 12 July 2022. The samples were identified in the Zoology Laboratories PGRI Sumatera Barat University. The results showed that there were 19 species of fish consisting of 19 genera, 10 families, 5 orders caught in the Sangir River.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis keanekaragaman tumbuhan paku epifit pada tanaman kelapa sawit. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode observasi dan identifikasi langsung serta studi pustaka. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan Metode Slovin. Penelitian dilakukan di kebun rakyat di Nagari Gunung Selasih, Kecamatan Pulau Punjung Kabupaten Dharmasraya. Penelitian dilaksanakan dari bulan September-November 2017. Dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan maka dihitung nilai Kerapatan Relatif, Frekuensi Relatif, Indeks Nilai Penting (INP) Dan Keanekaragaman Shannon Wiener. Dari hasil identifikasi ditemukan 16 spesies paku epifit. Spesies dengan kelimpahan tertinggi yaitu G. Verrucosum. Indeks Nilai Penting (INP) paku epifit tertinggi terdapat pada spesies G. verrucosum. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan Indeks Shannon-Wiener menunjukkan bahwa tingkat keanekaragaman paku epifit pada tanaman kelapa sawit berada dalam kondisi yang rendah (0,85).

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengevaluasi program magang mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi Universitas PGRI Sumatera Barat menggunakan model evaluasi CIPP (context, input, process dan product). Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif analitik dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Aspek 1) context yang berkaitan dengan landasan hukum penyelenggaraan program magang, 2) Input berkaitan dengan komponen komponen pendukung pelaksanaan magang, 3) Proses berkaitan dengan pelaksanaan kegiatan magang dan 4) Produk berkaitan dengan prestasi akademik dan non akademik mahasiswa sebagai capaian hasil dari kegiatan magang. Teknik dan metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara penyebaran kuesioner. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model CIPP akurat untuk mengevaluasi program magang mahasiswa, karena semua komponen dalam model CIPP dapat mengevaluasi masing-masing sasaran evaluasi secara lebih komprehensif. Dari hasil evaluasi dapat disimpulkan program magang telah terlaksana dengan sangat baik sesuai dengan capaian dan sasaran yang diinginkan.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to produce practical guides that are accordance with the learning needs on vegetative plant breeding topics in IX grade ofJunior High School. Guidance development is carried out using the ADDIE models, is analysis, design, develop. The research was conducted at the PGRI Sumatera Barat University and also MTsN 2 Lima Puluh Kota District. Validity was assessed by a validity questionnaire with a Likert scale to 3 validators. Data processing is done in a quantitative way using the percentage formula by Riduwan (2013).The aspects that are assessed in the development of practicum guides are aspects of the appropriateness of the content, language, presentation, and graphics.The results of the validation obtained are very valid (90% on average) with an assessment position for the content feasibility aspect of 91%, language 85%, presentation 92%, and graphics 91%. Based on these results it can be concluded that the contextual-based practicum guide on vegetative plant propagation material developed is valid so that it can be used in the learning process

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh model pembelajaran snowball-throwing terhadap hasil belajar kognitif biologi siswa di SMA Negeri 8 Mukomuko. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada Bulan Januari-Februari 2023, dengan populasinya yaitu seluruh kelas X MIA SMA Negeri 8 Mukomuko  dan sampel nya yaitu kelas X MIA 1 (kelas eksperimen) dan Kelas X MIA 2 (kelas kontrol). Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan teknik random sampling dengan desain penelitian berjenis quasi eksperimen pre-test post-test group design. Tes yang diberikan yaitu berupa soal dalam bentuk pilihan ganda berjumlah 15 soal. Data hasil belajar kognitif didapatkan dari uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas, kemudian dilakukan pengujian hasil analisis data menggunakan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran snowball-throwing dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif biologi siswa di SMA Negeri 8 Mukomuko. Hasil uji Independent Samples t-Test (t) sebesar 2,473 dengan nilai p sebesar 0,016. Karena nilai p ˂0,05 maka ada pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran snowball-throwing dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif biologi Siswa di SMA Negeri 8 Mukomuko.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian menganalisis efek penambahan dosis getah aren (nira) dengan kosenstrasi berbeda terhadap daya tetas telur ikan gurami, menganalisis pengaruh penambahan dosis nira aren dengan kosenstrasi berbeda terhadap kelangsungan hidup larva ikan gurami, menganalisis pengaruh penambahan dosis nira aren dengan konsentrasi berbeda terhadap pertumbuhan. Penelitian dilakukan selama 21 hari, dimulai dari telur sampai larva. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metoda eksperimen yaitu 4 perlakuan, 3 kali ulangan, dianalisis dengan menggunakan metoda one way ANOVA. Hasil penelitian uji deskriptif dihasikan rata-rata daya tetas gurami tertinggi pada perlakuan C (99,00 %), diikuti perlakuan D (98,66%), B dan A (93,33%), Pada uji homogenitas dinyatakan bahwa nilai p>0,05 (0.477>0,05) yang artinya data yang diuji homogen, dan dilihat pada uji one way ANOVA didapat nilai p>0,05 (0,373>0,05), jika sig >0,05 maka H0 diterima yang artinya tidak terdapat perbedaan nyata terhadap pemberian perlakuan yang berbeda pada berat larva gurami.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of WhatsApp Group-based Blended Learning on students' critical thinking abilities. The study adopts a quasi-experimental design and is conducted at SMAN 8 Seluma. The sample consists of Class XII MIPA 1 as the experimental group receiving blended learning treatment, and Class XII MIPA 2 as the control group undergoing conventional learning. The Statistics Group Pretest-Posttest design is employed. Non-Probability Sampling is used for sample selection, and data analysis is performed using the t-test. The research findings reveal a significant difference in students' critical thinking abilities between the experimental and control groups. The average critical thinking ability score for the experimental group is 49.55, while for the control group, it is 46.43. The t-test results indicate a significance level of Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 < 0.05, and Tcount (calculated t-value) = 5.668 > Ttable (critical t-value) = 2.022 (sig: 5.668 > 2.022). Therefore, H1 is accepted, and H0 is rejected, leading to the conclusion that WhatsApp Group-based Blended Learning has a significant influence on students' critical thinking abilities.
