Abstract

Productive pedagogies describe the ability of an educator in implementing learning process. This ability should be owned by prospective teacher students in order to improve teacher professionalism in the future. This research was conducted to obtain an overview of productive pedagogies for students of biology education study programs. Productive pedagogies are measured based on three dimensions, namely intellectual quality, relevance, and mastery of the classroom environment for prospective teacher students who carry out teaching practices in the sixth semester of the microteaching lecture T.A 2018/2019. This research is a descriptive study conducted in January-May 2019. The assessment of productive pedagogies was measured by using a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire. Data acquisition was analyzed by converting low to very high values. Based on the overall dimensions measured through the questionnaire, the lowest average was found on the relevance dimension of 82.4 and the highest in the dimensions of intellectual quality was 84.95 with a very good category. The results showed that 74% of prospective teacher students argued that productive pedagogies were in the very high category.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to produce biology learning materials oriented by Problem Based Learning (PBL) model containing character on circulation system topic for senior high school in terms of student activities. This research is a development research using Plomp development model. This model consists of 3 phases, namely preliminary research, prototyping stage, dan assessment phase. Previous research has been done in practicality test at assessment phase. In this study continued on the assessment phase, namely effectiveness test in terms of student activities. The study was conducted in student of second years which one of Senior High School in Indonesia. The research instrument used observation sheet of student activity. Data analysis techniques using the formula percentage. The results showed that the average value of student activity was 94.05 with very effective category. It can be concluded that biology learning material oriented by PBL model containing character on circulation system topic for senior high school has been effective in terms of student activity

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' perceptions of lecturer’s pedagogic competencies of biology education study program fkip-uirpekanbaru academic year 2017/2018. The study is using survey methods, and used questionnaires, observation, interviews and documentation as the instruments. The population of this study were all sixth semester students, there were 5 classes (a, b, c, d, e) with total of 172 students, which 86 of them are become sample of the study with high, medium and low academic capabilities. The results of the 10 pedagogic competency indicators based on academic ability high is 62.67 (good category) on average, based on moderate academic capabilities, the average value is 64.81 (good category), meanwhile, refer to low academic ability the average score is 63.25 (good category), last, the average recapitulation of pedagogic competencies based on both high, medium and low academic capabilities average value is 63.58 (good category). For lecturers who teach less than five years and lecturers who teach more than five years are obtained by good category. It can be concluded that the students' perceptions of lecturer’s pedagogical competence of the biology education program are in good categories.

Abstract

Plant duplication through tissue culture is applied primarily to large exploited plants. Plant tissue culture was developed to help multiply the various types of plants, especially for plants that are difficult to be generatively cultivated. The purpose of this research is to know tissue culture technique at Carrot plant (Daucus carota) and to know the influence of BAP media on growth and development of plant carrot eksplan. The method used is experimental method with 4 treatments. The results showed that eksplan can not form the roots, stems, and leaves and callus there is only one repetition that can grow well. The percentage of plant tissue culture success using BAP media is 1%. This happens because of contamination

Abstract

This study aims to determine student's high-level thinking skills on the body's defense system topics. Type of research is descriptive qualitative with a population of students of all grade XII MIPA Mathematics and natural sciences totaling 195 people. The sample in this study was taken by the Random Sampling technique, amounting to 39 people. The type of data collection used is a written test consisting of 24 questions consisting of taxonomic levels C4, C5, and C6. Data of high-level thinking skills obtained from the critical thinking skills test by 34%, creative thinking by 52%, problem-solving 30% and decision making by 35%. The result of the ability to analyze by 44%, evaluate by 29% and create by 27%. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the ability to think of high-level students is categorized as not good.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of applying the time token learning model with worksheets to the students' competencies. This research is a quasi-experimental study (Quasi Experiment). The study population was firstrate Apikes Iris students  in general biology courses in the 2018/2019 school year. While the sample of this study was Apikes Iris level one local students A and  Local B as control class. The instruments used in the study were knowledge test questions, and attitude and skills observation sheets. Data analysis in this study used the t-test for knowledge competency and Mann Whitney U test, for attitude competency and skills. The results showed that the average value of learning competence of experimental class students was 80.03 better than control class students who were only 73.91. It can be concluded that the application of the learning model of the time token completed with student activity sheets has an effect on improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

AbstractCarcharhinidae is the Ordo Selachimorpha, Elasmobranchii subclasses. One of the member of this family is Silky Shark (Carcharhinus falciformes). Intestinum of this shark has uniqueness, in part of intestinum which is form a folding called valvula intestinalis. The folding has role as widing surface of food absorbsing. The uniqueness of intestinum can be influed by habitat differencete ad ytpesof food consumtion. This aims of this study is to determined the structure macroanatomi of valvula intestinalis of Silky Shark (C. falciformes). Tester of this research obtained from Fish Landing (TPI) Wakatobi. Types of study is pure experiment. Data of morphology observation analised descriptively, to describe the tester of morphology character, where as macroanatomy of valvula intestinalis is decided by observing the variation of intestinum internal folding, number of folding, and scupe valvula surface. The observation result of macronatomy structure slimid that valvula intestinalis of Silky Shark (C. falciformes) scuped paper roll with opposite of cloaca. Total of roll paper are fine with scape both surface is 84.10 cm2.

Abstract

This study aims to identify of butterflies found in two waterfall areas in the city of Padang. Sampling was carried out in March - April 2018 with the transect walk method,  butterflies were captured using insect net. Total butterflies obtained were 179 individuals consisting of 51 species belonging to 37 genera and 7 families. The highest number of species found in the family Nymphalidae (17 species), followed by Papilionidae (10 species), Lycaenidae (6 species), Pieridae (6 species), Satyridae (6 species), Danaidae (4 species), and Amathusidae (2 species ) The most common species is Junonia atlites (Linnaeus).

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determined whether there is a relationship of discpiline learning and way of learning method with biology learning outcomes based on the academic ability of class XI science students. Analysis of the data in this study using correlation analysis Person Product Moment. The results showed that for high academic, learning discipline (X1), the learning method (X2), with biology learning outcomes (Y) there is a high relationship (0,626). For medium academic, learning discipline (X1) the learning method (X2) with biology learning outcomes (Y) there is a medium relationship (0,509). For low academic, learning discipline (X1) the learning method (X2) with biology learning outcomes (Y) there is a medium relationship (0,523). Indicates a significant between way of learning discipline and learning method with result of biology study based on the academic ability of class XI science student.

Abstract

This study aims to determine types of insect in cocoa plantations and thecontribution for the tenth-grade student of General/Religion Senior HighSchool Insect topics. This research is research-based development. Theresearch in the field used descriptive survey method and for the developmentresearch used the 4D model which consisted of four stages namely define,design, develop and disseminate. This research only reached the developingstage (validation test). Data were analyzed by using percentage techniquesand descriptive processed. Based on the research finding, that there wereeleven kinds of the Insect in cocoa plantations likes Aulachopora similis,Aulachopora lewisii, Tribolium confusum, Diogmites sp., Batrocera sp.,Leptocorisa acuta, Pseudococcus citri, Bothorogonia ferruginea,Dolichoderus thoracicus, Oecophylla smaragdina dan Lamprosemaoctasema. From the results of this research, Insecta topics in the form of abooklet has been developed which is very valid.
