Islamic education is transformatif of consciousness process which going on continous. Therefore, duty and functions of Islamic education is education for long life and sensitive for people requirement. This concept is mean that duty and fungtion of Islamic education focus on student which dynamic grow, from unborn child to be dead, prestige and moralty. This article analyses functions of Islamic education. The functions are focus on development of student. Boarding school as one of the sub-systems of education in Indonesia, has been instrumental in educating the nation and many of them gave birth to a leader who is able to counter the society, which is controversial in the religious and moral norms. The existence of a boarding school in addition to educational institutions as well as social institutions. Boarding school grow and develop together society since centuries ago, because it was the agency receives. Despite boarding implicitly connotes as traditional Islamic educational institutions, does not mean the whole boarding covered with innovation. In line with the demands of the changing times is the boarding school itself has been trying to find a new alternative to the road opening up, so it is not surprising that since a few years ago many good boarding schools who live in cities or in villages have been changing rapidly. This paper tries to give a description of the importance of the implementation of the Madrasah education and autonomy. madrasah education that offers better quality with a religious culture to build the character of students who are able to apply the values and norms of religion. Several factors support the implementation of the School-Based Management in madrassas are: (1)Support of various elements present in the school, teachers, staff, parents and the head of the student, (2)adequate facilities and infrastructure, and (3)Ethos work and high spirits of all the elements are there, so that the policy issued by the school can be carried out in accordance with the goals and objectives. Factors inhibiting the implementation of the School-Based Management in madrassas are: (1)The policy of the government that are sometimes not in line with the program planned by the madrasah, (2)Most of the teachers slow in implementing planned programs, (3)Lack of response to the program as part of teacher has been planned, and (4)Teachers sometimes often do not permit entry of teaching, it inhibits the programs that have been planned school.

Development of quality Islamic education institutions one of which will be greatly influenced by the leadership that was developed by individuals who have been given the task of leading Islamic educational institution. Islamic leadership has several characteristics that can be used leader Isam educational institutions in performing the task of leadership. The mosque as a instrument that can be used to prostrate, also means it can be used for social activities involving human dimension by making it as a central activity. This relates also to the potential mosque itself should be empowered with all the ability of the managers. In this case it takes expertise (skills) are not only sufficient, but must be fully implemented as the implementation of the propaganda bi ahsan al-amal (make changes by mobilizing all abilities). With this kind of understanding, the mosque can be interpreted as an instrument or means of universal worship. Not only worship mahdhoh (micro), but also worship ghayro mahdhah (macro). Public Relations (PR) has two senses. First, in terms of public relations as communication techniques. And second, public relations as a method of communication. The concept of Public Relations with respect to understanding through knowledge creation activities, and through these activities that impact the changes will appear. In contrast to Western civilization are experiencing stagnation and deterioration due to dogmatism confined religion, Islamic civilization actually progressed in the spirit of actualizing the values of faith. In other words, Islamic civilization and Western civilization has a different experience in terms of the role of religion in encouraging the advancement of civilization. In its heyday, Islamic civilization and contribute a big share in building a world civilization and eventually also lead to the development of civilization barat.Tulisan culture is going to elaborate on the contribution of Islamic civilization to the development of science globally. This effort is conducted not in the romance of history that is apologetis.but more than that, this effort made to develop the rekindling the spirit of Islamic culture and civilization through the messages of Islam. Achievement of the objectives of education is very dependent on the skill and wisdom of the principals leadership is one of the leaders of education. Because the principal is a professional officer in the school organization responsible for the regulation of all sources of the organization and collaborate with teachers in educating students to achieve educational goals. With the professionalism of this principal professional development of educational personnel is easily done because according to function, to understand the needs of school principals who he led to the competence of teachers not only stagnates the competence he had previously, but grew and developed so well that the professionalism of teachers will be realized.
