Abstract

This study aims to describe mathematical anxiety in solving students' mathematical problems. This type of research is qualitative research with a case study method. The subjects in this study consisted of 1 student who had a high level of anxiety. The technique of taking the subject is by using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques using questionnaires, tests, and interviews. The instruments used were mathematical anxiety questionnaires, tests of mathematical problem-solving abilities, and interviews. The result shows that the subject has difficulty solving mathematical problems. It shows that the subject with high anxiety is not optimal in solving mathematical problem-solving problems. Thus, students with high anxiety need specific treatments or require the application of fun learning to optimize their mathematical problem-solving abilities

Abstract

The ability to think critically and creatively is needed in solving math problems. Secondary school students in Indonesia still possess these two abilities according to the results of PISA research. Therefore, learning studies that influence these two abilities are still feasible to do. This study aims to examine the effect of MEA learning with contextual worksheets on the ability to think critically and creatively in solving math problems. The study was a quasi-experimental study using a post-test only control group design. The research population consisted of 137 class X students of SMK Kharisma Mengwi, Badung Regency, Bali for the 2019/2020 school year, which was spread into five classes with equivalent math abilities. A random sampling technique determined a sample of 2 classes. Data on the ability to think critically and creatively in solving mathematical problems were collected using a test in the form of a description. Data were analyzed using the MANOVA test. The results of the analysis show that MEA learning with contextual worksheets has a positive effect on the ability to think critically and creatively in solving math problems (F = 90.018; p <0.05).

Abstract

This study aims to create a didactic design in an effort to overcome the learning obstacle through DDR (Didactical Design Research) in learning multiplication of two matrices through prospective, meta-pedadidactic, and retrospective analysis stages. Data collection using the following techniques: 1) observation, namely observing learning activities, analyzing teaching materials and learning implementation plans used by teachers in classroom learning; 2) tests in the form of diagnostic tests for students to determine the learning obstacle, prerequisite ability tests, and final identification tests; 3) interviews with mathematics subject teachers by asking questions that lead to student difficulties and teacher difficulties in delivering mathematics learning material; and 4) instructional videos in the learning process. The data were analyzed to find a learning obstacle and based on these findings, a was prepared Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT)which was outlined in a hypothetical didactic design. The didactic design that has been designed is implemented to test as well as validate HLT. The results of the instructional video recordings were analyzed in the meta-pedadactic stage. The didactic design of the two matrix multiplication material contains didactic anticipation that can be an alternative for the teacher when facing situations and responses that may occur.

Abstract

This research focuses on the profile of learning independence in achieving the mathematical creative thinking skills of vocational school students. This research was conducted in class X SMK with subjects consisting of 5 students. Data collection techniques using questionnaires, tests, and interviews. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, data interpretation, and conclusion drawing. In this study, data reduction was carried out by grouping students into high, medium, and low levels of learning independence through a learning independence questionnaire. Furthermore, the data is presented with a description of the characteristics of the creativity level of students who have high learning independence in solving math problems. Then draw conclusions. Researchers used triangulation methods to compare data. The results of this study are that students have a high level of learning independence and students have difficulty working on tasks of mathematical creative thinking skills so that it takes a long time to do. Students are required to have activeness, own initiative, be resilient and persistence in learning. Students can involve various resources and activities such as reading alone, group study, and question exercises in order to improve their mathematical creative thinking skills

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to determine: (1) the appropriateness of the comparative material test instrument based on the Revised Bloom Taxonomy to measure HOTS student; (2) the quality of the comparative material test instrument based on the Revised Bloom Taxonomy to measure HOTS student; and (3) analysis of potential effects on the use of test instruments for comparison material based on Revised Bloom's Taxonomy to measure HOTS students'developed. This research is development research with the Tessmer model development design. The subjects of this research were all students of class VIII SMP Koperasi Pontianak. The research data was obtained based on the expert's / expert's assessment of the test instrument, the results of the test small group which will be analyzed in terms of validity, difficulty index, distinguishing power, and item reliability, as well as the results of the tests field test which will be analyzed related to potential effects. The results showed that: (1) the feasibility of the comparative material test instrument based on the Revised Bloom Taxonomy to measure HOTS students'reached the valid criteria level; (2) the quality of the comparative material test instrument based on the Revised Bloom Taxonomy to measure the HOTS of students reaching the criteria level is valid, difficult, has poor distinguishing power, and is declared to have low feasibility as a research instrument; (3) analysis of potential effects on the use of test instruments for comparison material based on Revised Bloom's Taxonomy to measure HOTS to student achieve an effectiveness level of 68.96% with the criteria for positive potential effects.
