Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan komunikasi matematis tulis siswa dalam mengerjakan soal cerita statistika. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Subjek pada penelitian ini yaitu 20 siswa kelas IX SMPN 4 Pujon yang dipilih melalui hasil siswa mengerjakan soal matematika. Teknik yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini yakni memberikan soal cerita statistika kepada 20 siswa kemudian melakukan analisis data dengan melihat kemampuan komunikasi matematis tulis siswa berdasarkan indikatornya. Kemudian mengelompokkan siswa menjadi tiga yang terdiri dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis tulis tinggi, kemampuan sedang, dan kemampuan rendah. Hasil pada penelitian ini yakni satu siswa mempunyai kemampuan komunikasi kategori sedang yang mana menuliskan jawaban kurang tersruktur. Empat siswa memiliki kemampuan komunikasi matematis kategori rendah yang menjawab soal tidak tersruktur dan menulis notasi matematika secara kurang tepat. Sebanyak 15 siswa memiliki kemampuan komunikasi matematis tulis kategori tinggi yang memenuhi semua indikator komunikasi. This study aims to describe students' written mathematical communication in working on statistical story questions. This research uses qualitative methods with descriptive research type. The subjects in this study were 20 students of class IX at SMPN 4 Pujon who were selected through the results of the students working on math problems. The technique used for data collection in this study was to provide statistical story questions to 20 students then analyze the data by looking at the students' written mathematical communication skills based on the indicators. Then group the students into three which consist of high written mathematical communication skills, moderate abilities, and low abilities. The results of this study were that one student had a moderate category of communication skills which wrote less structured answers. Four students have low category mathematical communication skills who answer unstructured questions and write mathematical notations incorrectly. A total of 15 students have high category written mathematical communication skills that meet all communication indicators.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine differences in students' mathematical communication skills based on gender with learning using metacognitive strategies. This research method is a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group design. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling which consisted of 19 male students as the first experimental group and 17 female students as the second experimental group. The instrument used was in the form of a five-point essay test to measure the aspects of students' mathematical communication skills after being given a treatment, namely learning using metacognitive strategies. The pre-test mean score shows that female students are higher than male students, on the contrary, the average score of the post-test results, it is known that male students are higher. The data were analyzed using the t-test, it was concluded that there was a significant difference between the mathematical abilities of male and female students. This difference is consistent with several previous research results, although not a few studies also state that there is no significant difference between students' academic abilities based on gender.

Abstract

Salah satu keterampilan abad 21 yang dapat membantu mahasiswa untuk melihat serta menganalisis suatu masalah dari sudut pandang baru atau lainnya adalah keterampilan dari berpikir kreatif. Mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kreatif mahasiswa Pendidikan Matematika dalam memecahkan masalah open-ended trigonometri merupakan tujuan dari penelitian ini. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Sebanyak 35 mahasiswa diberikan pretest kemudian direduksi menjadi empat subjek untuk diteliti dan dianalisis secara lebih mendalam untuk menyelesaikan soal open-ended trigonometri. Peneliti, soal open-ended trigonometri, serta pedoman wawancara adalah instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian. Hasil penelitian dianalisis berdasarkan indikator dan tingkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif. Triangulasi data juga dilakukan pada tahap mendeskripsikan hasil dari penelitian. Hasil menunjukkan, aspek kelancaran terlihat pada mahasiswa berkemampuan matematika tinggi dan sedang, tetapi pada mahasiswa yang memiliki kemampuan rendah tidak terlihat. Aspek keluwesan hanya terlihat pada salah satu mahasiswa dengan kemampuan matematika tinggi. Aspek kebaruan terlihat pada kedua mahasiswa berkemampuan tinggi. Kesimpulannya, dua mahasiswa berkemampuan matematika tinggi memiliki tingkatan yang berbeda yakni sangat kreatif dan kreatif. Mahasiswa berkemampuan sedang dan rendah memiliki tingkat yang kurang kreatif dan tidak kreatif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan 1)untuk mengetahui apakah kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran CPS berbantuan GeoGebra lebih baik dari pada model pembelajaran CPS; 2)untuk mengetahui apakah kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran CPS berbantuan GeoGebra lebih baik dari pada model pembelajaran konvensional; 3)untuk mengetahui apakah kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran CPS lebih baik dari pada model pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu. Populasi penelitian sebanyak 490 siswa kelas X SMAN 1 Kuta Tahun Pelajaran 2019/2020. Sampel terbagi menjadi 6 ditentukan dengan teknik random sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji MANOVA. Hasil analisis menunjukkan 1)Kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran CPS berbantuan GeoGebra lebih baik dari pada model pembelajaran CPS; 2)Kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran CPS berbantuan GeoGebra lebih baik dari pada model pembelajaran konvensional; 3)Kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran CPS lebih baik dari pada model pembelajaran konvensional.

Abstract

The study aims at determining the emergence of intrinsic cognitive load in online learning models of School Mathematics 1 in Covid-19 pandemic period. This research is a descriptive qualitative one the data of which are obtained from observation sheets, questionnaires and interview results. Validity checking uses the triangulation method. The results of the study show that the intrinsic cognitive load is caused by the interactivity and isolated/interacting elements contained in the learning process. Elements of interactivity are in the form of terms or concepts in Mathematics learning. These terms or concepts, for examples, are the meaning of Knowledge, Standard Measurement, Mathematical Approach, Intertwined Principles, Content, Context, Competence, PISA Learning Concepts, De-conceptualization, Systems Approach, Conceptual Approach, etc. Isolated/interacting elements are seen from looking for examples of implementation in the real world and actualization of events in Indonesia. An example of implementation in the real world is an element that interacts in real situations in the learning practice of Mathematics.

Abstract

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah sangat diperlukan baik dalam proses pembelajaran maupun dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Namun, hasil penelitian PISA menunjukkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa masih rendah. Oleh karena itu, perlu dikaji lebih lanjut mengenai kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa khususnya dimasa pandemi COVID-19. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran ALC berbasis E-Modul terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa pada masa pandemi COVID-19. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Quasi Experimental. Sampling pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Penelitian ini dirancang dalam desain Posttest Only Control Group Design. Instrument yang digunakan berupa tes essay kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang dilakukan secara online. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN 4 Mengwi yang berjumlah 277 siswa dengan sampel penelitian 62 siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari tanggal 18 Agustus sampai 31 Agustus 2020 secara pembelajaran daring. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji ANOVA. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh pembelajaran ALC berbasis E-Modul terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah dengan nilai Fhitung > Ftabel yakni 4,852> 4,00 dan nilai signifikansi 0,031 £ 0,05.

Abstract

Small group discussions (group work) are an important part of the learning process though students are rarely skilled at asking a question. The purpose of this study is to examine student interactions and questioning skills during group work. This research study uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The research subjects consist of eight students who were divided heterogeneously into two groups, with four members for each group. The research instrument consists of the researcher herself, a task in the form of a trigonometric ratio group worksheet, and three video cameras to observe discussion activities. One camera was focused on all class activities and two cameras were pointing at each group being observed. All conversation transcripts during the discussion are deciphered, coded, and then analyzed qualitatively. The results of this study show the interaction of conveying opinion/rebuttals, asking questions, and providing answers, with the percentage of giving opinions/ objections were more dominant than other interactions. The ability to ask questions was obtained by 50% of the students having the medium questioning ability and 50% having the low questioning ability, with the level of questions asked at the LOTS level, namely C1 and C3 levels. None of the students had high questioning skills. Of the two groups observed, group A was more active in interacting both in terms of exchanging opinions/rebuttals, asking questions, and providing answers. Suggestions for further research need to be carried out an in-depth analysis of discussion activities both in terms of asking questions or providing feedback to see the emergence of collaborative reasoning.

Abstract

Each student's problem solving has different characteristics and can be seen in terms of gender differences. Gender in mathematics achievement is still a hot topic to be researched. Therefore, this study aims to describe the problem solving of primary school students on Geometry using the Polya strategy model in terms of gender. This study uses a qualitative approach design. Participants in this study consisted of 4 high and moderate achievement primary school students of the male and female gender. Data collection providing by problem-solving test, and then we conducted interviews with participants as part of the data triangulation process. Based on the study results, we found that: (1) there are differences in problem-solving strategies carried out by male and female students. For high achievement, male participants are superior, while for moderate achievement, female participants are superior; (2) A male student with high achievement is a good problem solver. A female student with moderate achievement is routine problem-solver, and naive problem-solvers are a female student with high achievement and a male student with moderate achievement. (3) Good problem solver were confident and able to find other ways when encounters obstacles. Routine problem solver do not do the looking back process, so there are mistakes at some of the problem-solving stages, and naive problem solvers only manipulate the numbers on the problem into some calculation operations.
