Abstract

Improving the quality of teaching biology should continue to be done to establish a professional teacher of Biology and intelligent. This is not an easy thing to do as turning the hand because it requires the cooperation of all faculty in the Department of Biology that is expected from day to day also always improve professionalism . Biology lecturer and intelligent professional, who can develop his professionalism in accordance with the challenges of globalization and the dynamics of global education  will be a living example for students majoring in Biology. Biology teacher candidates who are prospective professional and intelligent teacher who always want to learn throughout life, literati Science and technology, mastering the English language, capable of carrying out classroom action research, writing scientific papers diligent, capable students according to the needs and development of the era, as well as having intelligence thinking. They are also expected to have the ability to constantly develop the ability, can produce intelligent action, which is done with full responsibility, and is able to be recognized by the public in carrying out their duties in the field of education and learning. One effort that can be done by lecturers Biology is biology of learning by presenting to increase the independence of students in learning, and develop metacognitive skills. Lecturer builder courses should be worked together to give its share in coaching students to become teachers of Biology is the professional and intelligent. Lecturers should be an example and role model for prospective Biology teachers who cultivated because of their tendency to learn students more or less the same as how they be taught in LPTK.

Abstract

Implementation of biology learning in SMPN 1 Geneng Ngawi using lecture method. so that student learning outcomes are still low. Results of preliminary observations of student activity to formulate the problem, formulate hypotheses, conduct experiments, collect data, draw conclusions have not been reached indicators ketercapaian.Tujuan research to improve student learning outcomes VIIIA grade SMP Negeri 1 Geneng Ngawi. Research methods using action research, research subjects 40 students VIIIA. Collecting data using achievement test, observation of activities of students and teachers in learning. The study was conducted in two cycles. The results showed an increase in learning outcomes of the first cycle to the second cycle, 33% formulate problems, formulate hipotesis13%, experiment 15%, 20% collect data, draw conclusions 7.5%. Data student activity increased by 14%. Data activities of teachers increased by 15%. The conclusion of this research inquiry into the use of cooperative learning strategies can improve learning outcomes biology VIIIA grade students of SMPN 1 Geneng Ngawi with have significancy level.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of methods Role Playing with “Orkas (Organ KoranBekas)” can improve learning achievement of XI IPA Biology class in Madrasah Maarif Al-Falah. The research was conducted in Madrasah Maarif AL-Falah district of Ngrayun Ponorogo. The subjects werestudents of class XI second half of Al-Falah Madrasah Maarif District of Ngrayun Ponorogo school year 2014/2015 the number of students 16 children. The study consisted of two cycles, each cycle consisting of four phases: planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The results showed an increase inlearning achievement. Student achievement can be seen in the first cycle of 74.75, while the second cycle of 79.43 increased by 4.68. Additionally methods and media Orkas Role Playing (Organ newspaper Used) can improve the quality of the learning process. This is evident from the increasing every aspect ofstudents' courage and precision in playing its role 50% (18.75% to 68.75%). Cooperation of students in the group increased by 50% (25% to 75%). Attitude and cooperation skills of students in the group during the role play increased 37.5% (31.25% to 68.75%). And courage of students in expressingresponses or opinions and experience after playing the role of increased 37.5% (31.25% to 68.75%). It can be concluded that the use of Role Playing methods and media Orkas Organ Koran Bekas/Organs From Newspaper) can increase student achievement grade XI Madrasah Maarif Al-Falah.

Abstract

The aim of research to determine the diversity of plant species of moss in the forest areas  around the reservoir Kedung Brubus Pilang Kenceng District of Madison County , based on the external structure and taxonomy , as the building blocks of high school biology lab manual mosses ( Bryophyta ) .Teknik research exploration , consisting of 6 points location as a decision mosses around the reservoir Kedung Brubus . Moss plants were found to be observed , identified, noted habitat , research location on the chart observations , documented and made herbarium . The results of the study there are 10 species Leucophanes glaucum, Thiudium investa, Polytrichum commune, Garovaglia plicata, Chenidium lychnites, Meteorium miquelianum, ricissa sp, Pogonotum cirrhatum, Fissidens cristatus, Barbrlla enervis.

Abstract

Almost of unspecifically studying methods have been applied teacher for teaching activities. That methods have effected unefficiency for knowledge transferring to student. That is the reason how we need studying methods that efficient, creative and innovative. The purpose of this study is for knowing the studying methods  “Make A Match” and how the impact to result study specifically for natural science. We use purpose sampling technics to definite research class and simple random sampling to definite part of sample of each class. The average score of experiment class are higher than control class. The different of both class is three point with normal distribution for each class and from homogeneity test showed that F hit = 1,163. Both of them have homogeneous varians. The average point of experiment class are higher than control class too. T-test showed  t hit > t table (3,614 > 1,69). Thus, the studying methods  “Make a Match” could raised the study results better than conventional methods. As the result, the quality of education can be more improved agree with contain and the purpose of studying in the school.

Abstract

The ability to cope with environmental stresses and to survive is adaptive. This is due to the changes that occur very rapidly due to the need to adapt according to the demands at the time. Improving the quality of learning is dynamic so that the quality of learning today is not the same as the quality of learning and even become expired on tomorrow. Several studies have shown that teacher quality is a prerequisite in achieving quality education. This can be done as early as possible to improve teacher candidates. Law No. 14 of 2005 states, the position of teachers as professionals, serves to enhance the dignity of the teacher as well as his role as a learning agent to improve the quality of national education. Being a professional science teacher candidates there are a number of basic competencies related to professional quality needs to be improved. One of them contained in the framework for 21st century learning, one is supporting innovation and creativity skills. The main issue in this article is: How to prepare prospective science teachers (IPA) to be able to respond to any changes in present and future as well as to effectively take advantage for the betterment of self, community, and nation. The main issue, the focus of this article is to prepare graduates perspective, especially in science education courses Faculty of Surabaya in adaptive skills to support 21st century skills terkaid innovation and creativity in the lecture biotechnology.

Abstract

Tempe is a traditional Indonesian food made by fermentation or fermentation using Rhizopus sp. Tempe is made from soybeans with high protein content. Tempeh-making process is influenced by several factors: temperature, humidity and curing time study aims to analyze the influence of soybeans, time, and temperature curing of the protein content of soybean tempe, as a biochemistry lab manual. The research method uses an experimental approach with three replications. Test material using a black and yellow soybeans type of treatment in this study is a type of soybean yellow and black, with a curing time of 18 hours and 36 hours, at a temperature of 100o C and 310o C. The protein content was tested using formol. The results showed black soybean with a temperature of 100o C within 36 hours the highest protein content of 0.72%. Low protein content of the black soybean with a curing temperature of 310o C curing time of 36 hours.

Abstract

The aim of the research were to evaluate the efficacy of botanical insecticide of S. mahagoni leaves extracts against larvae of Ae. aegypti, based on concentration of the leaves S. mahagoni extract, and in additional to determine secondary metabolites compounds of S. mahagoni leaves extract. The extraction of S. mahagoni leaves was done by using ethanol solvents and than was analyzed by using Thin Layer Chromatography. The result indicated that ethanolic extract of S. mahagoni leaf contained alkaloid, tannin, saponin, terpenoid, and flavonoid compounds. The value of LC50 and LC90 calculation showed that LC50 of ethanolic extract over second and third instar larvae respectively were 488 ppm and 644 ppm. However the value of LC90 of both instar larvae were 732 ppm and 797 ppm. Based on the above result, it can be concluded that ethanolic extract of S. mahagoni leaf was effective against larvae of Ae .aegypti.Key words: Ae. aegypti, S. mahagoni, botanical insecticide

Abstract

The fat content has been known to vary so that the physical quality of meat is largely determined by its fat content. The purpose of this study was to determine the skin fat content of various types of chicken consumption. The study was conducted for 1 day at the AsriPlamongan Indah Semarang Housing, and UNDIP's animal husbandry laboratory to examine the skin fat content. The research subjects consisted of 12 chickens consisting of 3 broilers, 3 laying hens, 3 native chickens, 3 male chickens. The research variable is skin fat. The data obtained were analyzed using 5% ANOVA. The results of the study had a significant effect (P> 0.05) of 4 types of chicken on skin fat. Conclusion The fat content of chicken skin in various types of chicken consumption has different levels

Abstract

Familiarize learners to communicate, think critically and creatively and to consider moral values of Pancasila is one Permendikbud 81 A mandate in 2013. The need for students to be exposed to high level thinking tests in Learning Science is to hone the skills of students at the high school level. The purpose of this study was to describe the level of student mastery and achievement test indicator junior high school students in East Java in resolving high level thinking tests of learning science. This study was conducted at 20, 23, and 28 November 2012 in three districts, there are: Blitar, Mojokerto, and Pamekasan. The population of this study were junior high school students in East Java with a sample of students SMP 3 Nglegok Blitar (15 peoples), SMP 2 Dlanggu Mojokerto (15 peoples) and SMP 7 Pamekasan (15 peoples) by using purposive sampling technique. Data sources such as student scores on the analysis of high-level thinking skills test developed by USAID Priority Team. Techniques of data collection conducted by researchers through the provision of test instruments to students, then corrected degree of truth answers based on predefined criteria. Analysis of data in quantitative descriptive data then qualitatived. The conclusions of this study are: competence Junior high school students in East Java in resolving high level thinking tests category learning science enough (enough with a mean value of C- with a score of 43.8) and achievement test results categorized good indicators, namely: (a) observation of characteristic Distinctive animals (75.6), and analyze the properties of liquid water (75.6).
