Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui dosis ekstrak daun kelor yang dapat meningkatkan jumlah anakan tebu. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap faktorial dua faktor dengan 5 kali ulangan. Faktor pertama yaitu perlakuan dosis ekstrak daun kelor (0, 10, 20, dan 30) dengan 10 ml/l larutan sitokinin sintetik, dan faktor kedua adalah 3 varietas tanaman tebu (Varietas 1 = BM 9514, varietas 2 = BM 9044, dan varietas 3 = BM 9605). Parameter pengamatan yaitu daya kecambah, tinggi tanaman, jumlah anakan, berat segar tanaman, berat kering tanaman, berat segar tajuk, berat kering tajuk, berat segar akar, berat kering akar, dan volume akar. Data dianalisis ragam dan di uji lanjut dengan Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa daya kecambah tertinggi pada varietas BM 9605 yaitu 97,4%. Perlakuan ekstrak daun kelor memiliki pengaruh terhadap volume akar dan terdapat interaksi dosis dan varietas. perlakuan varietas memiliki pengaruh terhadap tinggi tanaman dan jumlah anakan tanaman tebu. Responsibilitas tanaman tebu terhadap perlakuan ekstrak daun kelor memiliki hasil yang berbeda. varietas BM 9044 sudah merespon perlakuan dosis ekstrak daun kelor dengan dosis 10 ml/l sedangkan Varietas BM 9605 merespon perlakuan dosis ekstrak daun kelor dengan dosis 20 ml/l, dan Varietas BM 9514 merespon perlakuan dosis ekstrak daun kelor dengan dosis 30 ml/l.

Abstract

The research aimed to study the effect of type and humidity level of storage media and teir interaction on cacao seed viability and seedling growth. The experiment was arranged in a completely randomized factorial design 3 x 4 with three replications. The first factor is the type of storage media (P) which is control (P0), charcoal shell (P1), and sawdust (P2).  The second factor is the humidity content of storage media (K) which is control (K0), moisture content 15% (K1), moisture content 30% (K2), moisture content 45% (K3). Parameters observed were seeds moisture content, electrical conductivity (EC), seed germination, germination vigor, germination rate,  height of seedling, leaf number of seedling, dry weight of seedling and hypothetic vigor index of seedling. Data were analyzed by anova and followed Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The treatments of charcoal shell and sawdust gave not significant effect to cacao seed viability and seedling growth, but it’s interactions gives significan effect the observed parameters. Combined use of  charcoal shell storage media with humidity content 30% gives the highest result to cacao seed viability and seedling growth after storage.Keywords : seed viability, storage media, humidity level and cacao

Abstract

The purpose of the research was to study the influence silica and concentration of NAA for moon orchid (Phalaenopsis amabilis L.) growth in acclimatization. The experiment was assigned in completely randomized factorial design with the first factor was silica (non silika and with silica) and the second factor was NAA concentrations (0, 50, 100, and 150 ppm). Each treatments was repeated three times. Parameters measured were the percentage of plant life, number of leaves,  length of leaf,  width of leaf, number of roots, length of root and fresh weight of plants. Data were subjected to ANOVA and followed by Duncan Multiple Range Test. The result showed that aplication silica increased fresh weight of plants. Application of NAA concentrations (50, 100, and 150 ppm) decreased percentage of plant life, leaght of leaf, and fresh weight of plants. Interaction of silica and NAA concentrations showed did not significantly effect. Keyword : Moon orchid, silica, NAA, aclimatization

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study the effectiveness of orange peel extract as seed coating to mantain physiological quality of melon seed during 12 weeks storage. This research was conducted in Laboratory of plant physiology and breeding UNDIP, from December 2016 to April 2017. The research was assigned in completely randomized factorial design with the first factor was the storage periode (0, 4, 8 and 12 weeks) and second factor was the seed coating (control, CMC 1,5 %, orange peel extract (0,5 %, 1,0 %, 1,5 %, 2,0 %)). Interaction of storage period and seed coating showed significant affect to seed moisture content, seed germination and dry weight of normal seedling. Seed coating with orange peel extract 1,5 % was able to keep moisture content for 4 weeks, seed germination for 12 weeks and dry weight of normal seedling for 8 weeks. Abstract

Problems in the cultivation of plants pakchoy caused by the influence of the physical environment such as climate, wind, temperature, the intensity of solar radiation, humidity, and soil. The research aims to know types of mulch and patterns of the plant spacing for optimizing on growth and yield of pakchoy. This experiment had been conducted in the experimental field Margahayu, Balai Penelitian Tanaman Sayuran, Lembang on September-November 2016. The design of the research which used was randomized block design factorial with 9 treatment combinations and 3 replications. The first factor is “Types of Mulch”, the use of M0 (no mulch), M1 (black silver plastic mulch), and M2 (rice straw mulch). The second factor is “The Plant Spacing Patterns”, which are J0 (10x10 cm_triangle), J1 (20x20 cm_square), and J2 (30x30 cm_hexagonal). Data was analyzed with analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued with Duncan Multiple’s Range Test (DMRT) at α=5%. The result showed that the use of black silver plastic mulch and spacing pattern of 20x20 cm (square) is a combination of the best treatment because it has the fresh weight of the canopy and the fresh weight of the roots of the most highest when compared to treatment with a combination of other, namely fresh weight of canopy 5,02 kg and weight of fresh roots 253,6 g.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine growth and production responses of Spoon Mustard (Brassica chinensis L.) due to the treatment of various type of manure and to determine types of manure which effective for the growth and production of Spoon Mustard. This Research has been conducted at  Experimental field and Laboratory of Plants’s Ecology and Production, Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Science, Diponegoro University from January to March 2017. This research used monofactorexperiment in Completely Randomized design arrangement. The treatment was variation of manure which were cow manure, goat manure, sheep manure, horse manure, and chicken manure, they would be compared with nontreatment (0 fertilizer) and  300 kg/ha urea in four times replication. The obtained data were processed statistically with analysis of variance (F test) and Duncan Multiple Range Test at 5% level. The result’s showed that manure treatment with different types gave effect to the plant heigh, number of leaves, leaf area, and plant production. The best treatment was chicken manure treatment which produced average of plant height as 26,33 cm, average of number of  leaves as 11sheet,  average of leaf area as 1033,30 cm, and Spoon Mustard production as 2319,90 g/m2.Keywords: Organic Fertilizer, Manure, Pakcoy.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempertahankan kualitas viabilitas benih kelengkeng selama 30 hari penyimpanan dengan kombinasi jenis bahan pelapis yang ditambahkan ekstrak biji selasih dengan wadah simpan yang berbeda. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan rancangan acak lengkap pola faktorial 4x3 dengan 4 kali ulangan, faktor pertama yaitu pengaruh pelapisan (T) dengan perlakuan T1 (kontrol), T2 (Arabic gum + ekstrak biji selasih), T3 (Alginat + ekstrak biji selasih), T4 (Carboxyl Methyl cellulose + ekstrak biji selasih). Faktor kedua wadah simpan (P) yaitu kertas buram coklat (P1), plastik poripropilen (P2), dan aluminium foil (P3). Parameter pengamatan berupa kadar air benih, daya kecambah, indeks vigor, dan potensi tumbuh maksimum. Data dianalisis ragam dan dilanjutkan dengan uji lanjut Duncan Multiple Range Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan formulasi pelapisan CMC dengan ekstrak biji selasih pada wadah simpan alumunium foil dapat mempertahankan viabilitas benih kelengkeng selama penyimpanan yang paling baik dengan hasil kadar air benih kelengkeng pada perlakuan tersebut yaitu sebesar 47,68 %, daya berkecambah 83,75 %, indeks vigor benih 53,75 % dan potensi tumbuh maksimum yaitu sebesar 90 %.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the effect of KCl addition on the growth and yield of shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) on various organic fertilizer bases. The research was conducted using a monofactor experiment with Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) consisting of 8 treatments with four replications. The treatment is without fertilization (K0), chicken manure (K1), goat manure (K2), cattle manure (K3), chicken manure + KCl (K4), goat manure + KCl (K5), cattle manure + KCl (K6), Urea, SP-36, KCl (K7). The observed parameters are plant height, leaf number, bulb number, bulb diameter, wet weight of plant and the potassium (K) uptake of plant. Data were subjected to Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and followed by Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results of the research showed organic fertilizer with or without KCl addition or NPK fertilizer gave higher plant height, leaf number, bulb diameter and wet weight of plant and potasium (K) uptake compared to without fertilization. The KCl addition on organic fertilizer did not increase wet weight of plant. The treatment chicken manure gave the higher indication on yield of plant compare to goat and cow manure.Keywords: shallot, organic fertilizer, KCl
