Abstract

The aim of the research is to analyze the level of knowledge of farmers in jehe cultivation in Moramo District, South Konawe Regency. The research was carried out in Moramo District, South Konawe Regency in August 2021–October 2022. The population in this study was all ginger farmers, totaling 153 people. Sample determination was carried out using the simple random sampling method. Determining the number of samples used the Slovin formula to obtain a sample size of 60 farmers. The technique for collecting data on farmers' knowledge levels is carried out using the interview method, while data collection on skills levels uses observations and checklists. Research variables include: the level of farmer knowledge in ginger cultivation referring to Bloom's taxonomy. The data analysis used is qualitative descriptive analysis, and the Product Moment correlation test. The results of the research show that the level of knowledge of farmers in ginger cultivation is at a low level at the seed selection, seed sowing, land preparation, fertilization and post-harvest stages; and a high level of knowledge at the location selection/determination stage, planting stage, maintenance, pest control stage and harvest stage. The relationship between the level of farmer knowledge in ginger cultivation and the productivity of the ginger produced is in the weak correlation category. Keywords: farmer's level of knowledge; ginger cultivation; Bloom's Taxonomy

Abstract

One effort to increase the production and productivity of lowland rice in Bombana Regency is the "Gerakan Peningkatan Produktivitas Padi pada Sawah Irigasi (GP3SI)" program, namely by adopting jajar legowo super technology. This research aims to analyze the impact of adopting jajar legowo super technology on lowland rice production. The research was carried out in Lameroro Village, Rumbia District, and Lokomea Village, Rarowatu District, Bombana Regency, in July–December 2021. Sample selection used the cluster random sampling method. The total sample was 80 farmers. The data collected consists of: land area, number of seeds, labor, NPK fertilizer, urea fertilizer, and the amount of pesticides/herbicides used in rice farming, as well as production. Data analysis was carried out using the Cobb-Douglas production function model. The research results show that together, the variables land area (X1), labor (X2), seeds (X3), NPK fertilizer (X4), urea fertilizer (X5), pesticides (X6) and dummy variables have a significant effect on rice production. rice fields (Y). Partially, the production factor is land area; total manpower; seed; pesticides and dummy variables (adoption of Jajar Legowo Super technology) have a significant effect on lowland rice production. Meanwhile, NPK fertilizer; and urea fertilizer has no significant effect on lowland rice production in Bombana Regency. The adoption of Jajar Legowo technology has had an impact on increasing lowland rice production. Keywords: factors of production; rice; jajar legowo super

The population in this research is all farmers who cultivate lowland rice and all agricultural instructors whose work area is in Baruga District. Determining the sample of farmers used the Simple Random Sampling method while determining the sample of extension workers used the census method. Determining the number of farmer samples using the Slovin formula. The number of samples determined was 52 farmers and 3 agricultural extension workers. The types and sources of data used are primary data and secondary data. The data analysis used is descriptive analysis, Spearman Rank correlation analysis and simple linear regression analysis. The results of the study show that: farmer behavior in lowland rice farming; The farmer's knowledge level is at the creation level (C6) at 3.85 percent, the farmer's attitude level is at the characterization level (A5) at 74.26 percent, and the farmer's skill level is at the creativity level (P7) at 7.42 percent. The performance of field agricultural instructors in lowland rice farming is in the sufficient category. There is a significant relationship between farmer behavior and lowland rice productivity. With a correlation coefficient of 0.588, it indicates a moderate relationship with a positive relationship direction. The performance of agricultural extension workers has a positive effect on lowland rice productivity. Abstract

Study of the sago starch value chain can help determine the sago value chain and the added value of sago processing, so that it can be an effort to maintain the sustainability of the sago industry. The study was carried out in April 2022–January 2023 in Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi. The study population consists of 3 (three) categories, namely farmers, sago flour processors, and traders. Sample determination was carried out using the census method. The variables observed are input prices, production costs, output prices, added value, marketing volume, marketing costs. The analysis used is value chain analysis, added value, and marketing efficiency. The study results show that the sago starch value chain in Kendari City consists of 3 (three) segments, namely the upstream segment which includes raw material suppliers, namely farmers, the middle segment which has added value processes, and finally the downstream segment. The main actors in this value chain consist of farmers, home industries and distributors. The added value carried out in the process of processing sago stems into sago flour is IDR. 17,461.89 per kg obtained at Kube Maju Bersama, higher than the added value at UD. Konawe Songgi (Rp. 17,320.8 per kg) and UD. Dani Putra (Rp. 17,261.56 per kg). All sago starch processing industries in Kendari City are said to have efficient marketing, as indicated by a marketing efficiency value of < 33 percent.
