Abstract

This study aims to decipher the patterns of adaptation strategies fishers in Baubau city in response to the demands of the modernization of the fisheries began to explore the area since the end of the decade of 1970 an.Penelitian using the data kualitatif.Pengumpulan done through interviews, observation, and conducted dokumentasi.Penelitian the fishing communities in the City Bone-Bone Baubau.Analisis data were analyzed descriptively-kualitatif.Hasil research showsthat in responding to the demands of the development of the modernization of the fisheries, the fishermen in the City Baubau generally selecting adaptation strategies. This strategy is the fishermen through motorisation boat (fleet) catch in the various types and sizes, the adoption of modern fishing gear innovation, and establish a working relationship (partnership) with modern fisheries entrepreneurs. Selection of adaptation strategies through three approaches, functionally deliver fishermen can increase productivity results, although on the other hand appears the impact thatputs them in a position exploited in the construction of a working relationship with a modern fisheries entrepreneurs.

Abstract

Bureaucracy is the most important part in governance. The position of the bureaucracy which is intersect directly with the public is placing bureaucracy as the main pillars in the public service. However, a very important bureaucraticposition is not offset. By a good performance by the state apparatus is still bound with the old culture and mindset. Moreover, some diseases or pathologies of bureaucracy such actions violate the rules and indiscipline will then make the community more negative perception of the bureaucracy in Indonesia. So with these conditions, the government is committed to implement a process called the bureaucratic reform. Good faith to create the process has lasted long enough, as evidenced by some of the policies that refer to the revamping and arrangement of structures, mechanisms and work culture of bureaucratic organization. However, the process still needs improvement up to now. The process of revision of the bureaucratic reform agenda should be supported by a strong commitment of all the bureaucrats and decisive leadership character and it is able to be control in the implementation of bureaucratic reforms.

Abstract

Herbal drink in the local tradition Bangkalan Madura is a manifestation of culture in responding to and resolving the health problems experienced daily. The tradition of drinking and making herbal medicine has become part of a culturethat is agreed upon by the community. In the development of the tradition of herbal drink to change the meaning in its implementation. Young people are not completely leaving but did not do a whole tradition of herbal drink. Thephenomenon of lax implementation of the traditions of herbal drink made gatherers and the elderly maintain the effort to pass through various stages of life in the tradition obligations. The study aimed to describe patterns and usergatherers efforts in maintaining the tradition of herbal medicine herbal drink. The location in the town of Bangkalan Madura by collecting data through participant observation and interviews with 30 informants (15-gatherers and 15users of herbal medicine). Data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative. The study found that the patterns of the efforts made gatherers and users in maintaining the tradition of herbal medicine: First, efforts to implement theappropriate understanding of tradition. Second, effective communication efforts among actors tradition. Third, efforts to introduce herbal medicine as Madura community identity during migration.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the role of women in household food security, identify alternatif of local food resources (non-rice) adaptive to the role of women and their utilization, and women’s empowerment modelingbasedpotential of local food resources. The method used is qualitative and quantitative. The respondents of this study is a housewifes who lives in the three typhologies of village, i.e. village of paddy fields, dry village, and beach village. The results show that women have a considerable role in household food security, both from the aspect of food production, procurement / preparation of food, food processing, and food quality. Several types of local food that is found i.e. cassava, bananas, maize, sweet potato, canna, taro, arrowroot, Uwi, gembili, breadfruit, juwawut, and kimpul (for food crops); cassava leaves, papaya leaves, leaf melinjo, spinach, mustard greens, cabbage, beans, and spinach (forvegetables); as well as mango, papaya, banana, melon, jackfruit and rambutan (for fruits). Alternative crops (non-rice) can be processed into some kind of processed food. Cassava, maize and bananas is a commodity that most processed into some kind of processed food product variants.Although it looks fairly prominent role of women in various aspects of household food security, but many found the weaknesses and the potential that can be optimized in order to improve their food security.Therefore, it takes several empowerment programs implemented to support the optimization of their role, among others, increasing knowledge about food consumption that meets the criteria B2SA, habituationfor consumption local food in compliance with food daily, developing culinary industry based on local food, and the optimization of land use.

Abstract

Broadcasting frequencies to produce television and radio stations among the social development of society. Many hunters feel the information and radio messages telelvisi only is the right of citizens who have high capital capital. People who are in the islands is far from informasi. Information spread society must be accommodated properly by the role of the broadcasting commission (especially the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission of East Java) as an autonomous body of regulation, so comes the equilibrium (balance) in the interaction between the individual or group-group man in public life. Broadcast content should be me-represent local culture, especially the culture of the people of East Java. The effort to keep the local culture from the onslaught of globalization is still serving or broadcast noble culture of East Java through the broadcast media for the next generation of Indonesia.

Abstract

This paper aims at describing the introduction and adoption process of society to the commodity plants of palm plantation supporting economic dynamics of rural society. Field study was conducted with phenomenology method, deep- interview and participated observation to arrange data. Phenomenology approach conducted in this research resulted in finding that palm plantation was introduced and developed by the government through power approach to the society in rural area. Horizontal and vertical conflict in accompanying the entry of the palm plantation did not mean of refusing of farmers to the commodity of palm plantation, but it was an effort to access for better positions. Furthermore, small farmers accessed quickly and with eagerness to the arena of capitalist production mode and left the traditional plantation farm modes.
