Illegal, Unregulated and Unreported Fishing (IUUF) is not traditionally discussed in security studies, but this paper attempts to prove that the emergence of IUUF in Indonesia since 2015 has become a security concern. The slogan “Tenggelamkan” (which means “Sink It!”) echoed by Minister of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs of Indonesia Susi Pudjiastuti indicated the surging attention, budget allocation and the sense of emergency in Indonesia’s IUUF problem. This study utilizes Securitization theory as the main framework of analysis in investigating three direct speech acts where Minister Susi attempted to securitize this issue by convincing president Joko Widodo and general Indonesian audience. This paper concludes that minister Susi had successfully securitize IUUF in Indonesia as evident in these three events: (1) the execution of exploding and sinking the captured vessels committing IUUF, (2) the militarization of IUUF in the form of involvement of Indonesian Navy and (3) the acceptance that this particular effort by minister Susi has brought fame for her as Indonesia’s female maritime hero.

National identity is an understanding of people's identity in an entity that has a common destiny and purpose. National identity is understood as a dynamic condition that is formed due to ethnicity, territorial, linguistic and religious factors. One of the factors that influence the dynamics of national identity is globalization. Globalization is interpreted as the freedom of the world community to develop various aspects of life such as science, technology, values, and culture. The increasingly easy interaction of the global community has an impact on the process of transmitting cultural values across countries such as the development of pop culture in Indonesia. Based on the study of literature by the author, the development of pop culture can have a negative impact on strengthening national identity, especially among urban communities, especially at the age of adolescence. The negative impact of culture is westernized behavior which tends to be pragmatic, hedonistic, and consumptive. Such behavior is certainly very contrary to the ideology of Pancasila so that it becomes a threat to the Indonesian people in strengthening national identity based on Pancasila. Thus, efforts are needed to strengthen the national identity of urban communities especially teenagers through internalization of community cultural values (local wisdom) in various fields of life, filtering of foreign cultures, and multicultural education to strengthen the foundations of each individual so that they are not easily uprooted by their cultural roots

The implementation of direct local election has become important part of Indonesian society. This election is achievement of the reform. The public can finally vote for their head of the region (the local leaders) based on their own aspiration. The mechanism of this local election is somehow facing pro and contra between direct and indirect. It is considering the positive and negative impacts of the mechanism. The positive impact is to provide an opportunity for proposing their own people of the region to be candidate. This opportunity as a constitutional right of citizen regardless of race, ethnicity, and religion. Other results that there are number of regions are developed since this direct election able to produce several local leaders who are innovative and creative in developing their regions. In contrary, not few of the regional head are entangled with corruption cases. This is caused by the high cost of politics to achieve the seat of that regional head andco-head of the region. In addition, the cost to run the local election is also extremely expensive. Besides the local election socially triggers the horizontal conflict especially among the regional elites and its supporters. Different from the indirect local election that the cost is less. However, its has shortcoming that the regional head electedare not directly reflecting the aspirations of its people.

This study aims to understand the representation in discourse and how discourse constructs ideology in the comic strip Mice Cartoon Indonesia Banget! 2. To understand these two things, representation and social semiotics theories are needed. Both theories are applied to data in the form of visual and verbal language in comic strips. The data in the form of visual and verbal language are categorized based on the anatomy of discourse in social semiotics. The results of the study show that the discourse of Indonesians which is repeated in comic strips represents actors as metonymy of Indonesians which are considered negative. The categorization is based on an analysis of the anatomy of discourse in comic strips in the form of actors, actions, attitudes that are considered deviant and not in accordance with the discourse of people's lives. “Indonesian people” in comic strips are representations of discourses that live in society. The categorization has references that come from social reality in the form of various articles published as a form of discourse legitimacy in comic strips. Although the discourse of Indonesians is seen as a negative representation, this assumption becomes knowledge in comic strips that is taken for granted by readers. In the end, discourse and representation in comic strips are not questioned again. All discourses culminate in ideological construction which is reflected in the title "Indonesia Banget".

Political contestation in the 2019 elections is not only about the contestation of political parties, but the involvement of the Tuan Guru and Ulama regarding ijtihad (political thought) is a concern. The use of Political Identity in the 2019 Elections is damaging to the integration of the nation and state of Indonesia. It began with the 2017 DKI regional election contestation with the start of a demonstration in the name of the defense of religion on December 12, 2016 to try Ahok who was considered blasphemous about religion. TGB is one of the figures who supported the demonstration so that it received sympathy from the alumni brotherhood of 212. PA 212 support was stopped when TGB opposed in supporting Jokowi in the 2019 Election. As Gunernur NTB, TGB had thought according to rational choice considerations in expressing its support for Joko Widodo. Rational choice through consideration of the benefit (goodness) of the people is a priority that encompasses all Indonesian people, including NTB.

Every general election is always accompanied by legal products that are regulated in law. The experience of implementing general elections in Indonesia since the old order, the new order, and the reform order has always been changing. Every amendment to the Election law is always carried out prior to the implementation of the Election on the grounds of the evaluation results of the previous Election. Changes to the electoral law are also always carried out by a package of changes to the election administration law and the law on political parties. This package of changes to laws is also called the package of changes to political laws. Then how about the changes in the post-reform election law? As in the previous elections, there have been changes in laws. A fundamental change in the post-reform Election system is the Decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) number No. 22-24 / PUU-VI / 2008 regarding judicial review of Article 214 letters a, b, c, d, and e of Law 10/2008. That is, with this Constitutional Court decision, of course there has been a change in the Election system from a closed proportional system to an open list proportional system. However, without realizing it, this change has actually opened the space for candidate competition to widen. Because candidates no longer depend on the serial number but depend on the ability to get the most grassroots votes. Changes in the Election system will be followed by changes in campaign strategies and changes in campaign finance by individual candidates and political parties. As a result, the campaign strategy of distributing money towards the end of the campaign was carried out massively. This fact cannot be covered up, which has implications for party financing. Massive open wars of money politics encourage political political parties to be able to provide financial access assistance for candidates to win the competition. This is where the dynamics of campaign finance begin, which implies that campaign finance is very expensive.
