Abstract

There are several hazardous material compounds in water morning glory that cannot be consumed. This study aimed to Fe content in water morning glory taken from different locations using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) method. The data were acquired through documentation method, observational method and experimental method. All of the data were analysed by quantitative approach and descriptive analysis. The number of samples taken was 3 pieces of water morning glory per location. From the AAS method, the results showed that Fe concentrations in all samples varied. The average of Fe content in water taken from Industrial area was 0,258 ppm, from green house was 0 ppm, and from rural area was 0,175 ppm. The numbers of Fe content in water morning glory taken from industrial area were 10,78 ppm, 9,0 ppm, 9,3 ppm; from green house were 1,9 ppm, 4,4 ppm, 2,4 ppm; and from rural area were 6,4 ppm, 4,94 ppm, 4,98 ppm. The results of the study showed that Fe content in water or water morning glory taken from green house and rural area was below the threshold level of metal contamination, meanwhile in industrial area, the Fe content was almost approaching the threshold level of metal contamination. In the industrial area, the water morning glory could be used to reduce water pollution, not as food sources because of the high content of Fe. Meanwhile, in green house and rural area, water morning glory might be consumed by people because of the low content of Fe. © 2015 JNSMR UIN Walisongo. All rights reserved.

Abstract

The subjects of this research are waste of pinepple’s peel (Ananas Comosus (L) Merr) and local beef that were obtained from Jrakah traditional market, Ngaliyan-Semarang. The data technique analysis of this research is descriptive statistics. The result of this research shows that there is influence of waste of pineapple’s peel as source of bromelain enzyme to increase meat quality, especially tenderness. The higher the bromelain enzyme concentration used, the  more tender the meat, although will be may increase the score of cooking loss. The meat that is submerged with the highest concentration (40%) of bromelain enzyme solution has score of 0.6662 and 45% of cooking loss. The organoleptic quality identification of meat that is submerged with bromelain enzyme solution, generally is better than the control meat. The meat that is submerged with bromelain enzyme solution gives better appearance, flavor, juiceness, and tenderness than the control meat. © 2015 JNSMR UIN Walisongo. All rights reserved.

Abstract

The ellips space E has been constructed as cartesian product R+ × R+ × [ π 2 , π 2 ]. Its elements, (a, b, θ), is called as an ellipse with eccentricity is = p1 − b2/a2 if b a and is = p1 − a2/b2 if a b. The points (a, b, π/2) is equal to (b, a, 0). The action of subgrup SOoz(3, 1) of Lorentz group SOo(3, 1), containing Lorentz transformations on x−y plane and rotations about z axes, on E is defined as Lorentz transformation or rotation transformation of points in an ellipse. The action is effective since there are no rigid points in E. The action is also not free and transitive. These properties means that Lorentz transformations change any ellips into another ellips. Although mathematically we can move from an ellipse to another one with the bigger eccentrity but it is imposible physically. This is occured because we donot include the speed parameter into the definition of an ellipse in E.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the inhibition capacity of lemon juice (Citrus lemon) in the formation of calcium oxalate in a variety of concentrations of 5%, 7.5%, 10% which is then compared to pure citric acid. Lemon juice contains citric acid that can inhibit calcium oxalate’s formation. Inhibitory activity found in lemon juice is examined by observing its inhibition capacity towards the formation of calcium oxalate crystal. At the end of the treatment process the turbidity level is compared to citric acid acting as an inhibitor in the formation of calcium oxalate and then the percentage of the inhibition capacity is calculated. Result of the study shows that the optimum concentration of the lemon juice (Citrus lemon) and citric acid is 10%. The inhibition capacities in calcium oxalate formation by lemon juice with concentration variations of 5%, 7.5%, 10% are 47.06%, 73.68%, 94.19% and by citric acid with concentration variations of 5%, 7.5 %, 10% are 29.90%, 30.85%, 42.30%. It can be concluded that the higher the concentration of lemon juice and citric acid used the higher the inhibition capacity of calcium oxalate. Based on the inhibition capacity percentage, lemon juice is more effective in inhibiting the formation of calcium oxalate compared to citric acid and it can function as an alternative to prevent the formation of kidney stone. © 2015 JNSMR UIN Walisongo. Abstract

Synthesis of green concrete has been carried out by using iron slag waste of PT Inti Jaya Steel Jrakah, Semarang. Geopolimer (green concrete) is an aluminosilicate inorganic polymer with chain Si-O-Al that can be synthesized from material rich in silica and alumina with sodium hydroxide as an activator. Iron slag chemical content analysis indicated that this material is a part of pozzolan material with each individual components weight as follow: SiO2: 4.55%, Al2O3: 2.54%, CaO: 11.43%, Fe2O3: 77.10%, MnO2: 1.43 and  other minerals:  4.07%. The mole ratio of SiO2/Al2O3 of iron slag waste of PT Inti Jaya Steel Jrakah, Semarang is quite high at 3.05. Although the ratio is high, it is still can be synthesized using an activator solution of NaOH and increasing the drying time to 3 days and 24 hours of curing time at 60°C temperature to help the process of water molecule condensation in the geopolymerisation process. Characterized concrete (green concrete) that has been formed shows that the maximum compressive power can be achieved at composition ratio of Iron slag/ Na-silicate /NaOH /H2O of 55/10/4/8, with compressive power of 11.254 MPa. © 2015 JNSMR UIN Walisongo.
