Abstract

Based on the observation in SMP Muhammadiyah 9 Yogyakarta obtained some information that low numerical ability, parents pay less attention to children/students in terms of learning, and student learning discipline is less. This study aims to determine whether or not a positive and significant relationship between numerical ability, parental attention, and discipline of learning with the results of learning mathematics seventh-grade students  Muhammadiyah Junior High School 9 Yogyakarta (SMP Muhammadiyah 9 Yogyakarta) even semester 2016/2017 academic year. SMP Muhammadiyah 9 Yogyakarta academic year 2016/2017 consists of 5 classes. All classes have an average value of final exams that is almost the same, so that the population in this study is class seventh gradee A to seventh grade E. Sampling technique using random sampling technique to class and class of VIIC selected as sample class. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and tests. The data collection instrument uses numerical ability tests, questionnaires of parental attention, discipline study questionnaires, and learning results. Test of research instrument using validity test, reliability test, and different power tests. The prerequisite analysis test includes a normality test, linearity test, and independence test—data analysis for hypothesis testing using product-moment correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis.  The results showed a positive and significant relationship between numerical ability, parental attention, and discipline of learning with the results of learning mathematics. At a significant level of 5%, v1 = 3, v2 = 28, Fcount = 49,9147137 and Ftable = 2,946685269, Fcount> Ftable with double correlation coefficient R = 0.917861751 and multiple regression equation three variables namely Y = -18 , 86970257 +0,385695364 X1 + 0,260272591 X 2 + 0,599196062 X3. Relative contribution X1 = 38,54162209%, X2 = 48,612,2907%,  X3 = 48,612,2907%, with double determination coefficient 0,842470194 and effective contribution X1 = 32,47016786%, X2 = 10,8224975% and X3 = 40,95435408%.

Abstract

The teacher's learning model can influence the low learning outcomes of students. The research aimed to determine the effectiveness of the cooperative learning model of TPS type with cooperative learning model TSTS type on mathematics outcomes. The population in this study were students of class VIII State Junior High School 2 Patikraja (SMP Negeri 2 Patikraja) consisted of 6 classes. The sampling technique used a random sampling technique to class, obtained class VIII C as experimental class I, which uses a cooperative learning model of type TPS and VIII B as experiment class II, which uses a cooperative learning model of type TSTS. Data collection techniques used were documentation and tests. Instrument-testing used validity and reliability test. Data analysis techniques used for the analysis include the prerequisite test, normality test, and homogeneity test. To test the hypothesis in this study, using a two-party t-test and one-party t-test. Based on the calculation of two-test and one-party t-test with 5% significant level and degree of freedom 68 on the calculation of t-test two parties obtained value tcount = 2.693058071> ttable = 1,99863, indicating that there are differences in learning outcomes mathematics students using cooperative learning models type TPS with students using cooperative learning models type TSTS. On the calculation of one t-test, tcount = 2,693058071> ttable = 1,99863 indicates that the TPS type is more effective than the TSTS type cooperative learning model in grade VIII students in even semester of SMP Negeri 2 Patikraja Banyumas regency teachings 2016/2017.

Abstract

The teachers still dominate learning mathematics, and some students still assume that mathematics is a hard subject. The lack of student activeness in learning mathematics in the class resulted in low student learning outcomes. Fortunately, there is one way to improve the students' learning outcomes by using the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the learning approach Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach with conventional learning. The study is done in MTs Sultan Hadlirin Mantingan District Jepara. This study population was the seventh-grade students of Islamic Junior High School Sultan Hadlirin mantingan (MTs Sultan Hadlirin Mantingan) School Year 2016/2017, which comprises of 3 classes with a total of 68 students. The experiment class was VIIA, and class VII B as the control class that was selected by random sampling of classes. The methods of data collection using documentation and test. The research instrument is in the form of questions. The test instrument is used for validity, reliability, and distinguishing features. Prerequisite test data analysis is used for Normality Test, Homogeneity Test, and Hypothesis Testing. Hypothesis test results with a significance level of 5% and 46 degrees of freedom showed that: (1) there are differences in learning outcomes of mathematics that using approach Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach with conventional learning.  It can be seen in  = 8,0383 and   = 2,0130, so  >  and (2) Learning mathematics using approach Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach is more effective than conventional learning. This is indicated by the value = 8,0383 and  = 1,6787, so > .

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether or not a positive and significant relationship between peers and numerical ability with the results of mathematics learning students of class XI IPA State Senior High School 1 Girimulyo (SMA Negeri 1 Girimulyo) Kulon Progo District odd Semester of the academic year 2017/2018. The population used in this study is all students of class XI IPA odd Semester SMA Negeri 1 Girimulyo Kulon Progo regency academic year 2017/2018, which amounts to 46 students and is divided into two classes. Sampling class using a random sampling technique to the class, so that I obtained class XI IPA 2 as class trial and class XI Science class 1(IPA 1) as a research class. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and tests. The data collection instrument uses peer questionnaires, numerical ability tests, and mathematics learning outcomes. The instrument test analysis uses validity, a test of different power, and a reliability test. Test prerequisite analysis using normality test, independent test, linearity test. Data analysis using simple correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis.  The results showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between peers and numerical ability with mathematics learning result with multiple regression equation Ŷ = -16,723 + 0,428X₁ + 0,632X₂ and double correlation coefficient (R) equal to 0,628, and obtained Fcount = 6,824 and Ftabel = 3.47, so Fcount> Ftable. The relative contribution (X₁) = 46,281% and (X₂) = 53,719% with double determination coefficient 0,394 and effective contribution (X₁) = 18,230% and (X₂)=21,160%.

Abstract

Learning outcomes is the accomplishment of the learning process. Low mathematics outcomes are influenced by factors that come from within or outside the students’ self. For example, a low ability of interpersonal communication makes the interaction of students with other people uncomfortable, and a less conducive learning environment can reduce the concentration of students during the learning process. The study aims to determine the relationship between the ability of interpersonal communication and learning environment with mathematics learning outcomes in student class XI Science (IPA), even semester of State Senior High School 9 Yogyakarta (SMA Negeri 9 Yogyakarta) in the academic year of 2016/2017. The population in this research was the students of class XI IPA, even semester of SMA Negeri 9 Yogyakarta in the academic year of 2016/2017, which consists of 5 classes with some 148 students. Samples were taken with a random sampling technique and derived class XI IPA 5 as a sample class with 28 students.  Data collection techniques use a questionnaire method to collect data on the ability of interpersonal communication and learning environment and test method mathematics achievement test. Test instruments used for validity and reliability. Test requirements analysis was a normality test, a test of independence, and a linearity test. Analysis of the data for testing hypotheses used linear regression analysis and correlation analysis. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between the ability of interpersonal communication and learning environment with mathematics learning outcomes in student class XI IPA even semester of SMA Negeri 9 Yogyakarta in the academic year of 2016/2017. It is showed by Fcount  Ftable is 7,6180 > 3,39 with  R = 0,6154 and R2 = 0,3787 with Ŷ = -71,6983 + 0,7204X1 + 0,9477X2 with RC =  and RC =  with EC =  and EC = .

Abstract

The teacher uses of the worksheet in a studying process are rare, but actually, the case is students may active through do worksheet during the studying process, which is by the low math test scores of students are the background of the research. The research aims to improve the mathematics student’s outcomes grade VIII Muhammadiyah Junior High School 2 Godean (SMP Muhammadiyah Godean 2) in an odd semester in the academic year 2016/2017 through using of student’s worksheet (LKS).  This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR), implemented in the 8th grade in SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Godean in the academic year 2016/2017 on August 16, 2016, through to September 6, 2016. The subject of this research is the students of class VIII C, which consists of 32 students. Action performed in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. At the same time, the object of this research is the use of student’s worksheets. The data will be collected using observation and tests. The analysis data are used descriptive qualitative analysis.  The result of the research showed that using a student’s worksheet on the mathematics studying process could increase the student’s outcomes in every cycle. The first cycle average of the student’s outcomes of the end cycle test was 58,33 with the individual completeness on the first cycle was 25%. Whereas the average of the second student’s outcomes end cycle test was 65,56 with the individual completeness on the second cycle was 34,37%.

Abstract

Multimedia learning on learning mathematics can help students visualize abstract materials to help students understand the material quickly. However, multimedia learning mathematics developed for the learning process of mathematics is only slightly. This research aims to develop multimedia learning using the MOODLE program on the integral subject for senior high school students in grade XII that feasible using on learning mathematics. This research is included in development research using the ADDIE development model. The research subjects are material experts, media experts, and State Senior High School 8 Yogyakarta (SMA Negeri 8 Yogyakarta) and State Senior High School 5 Yogyakarta (SMA Negeri 5 Yogyakarta). Data collection techniques used questionnaires, observations, and interviews conducted before developing the product. The research instruments used are observation guides, interview guides, and questionnaires to evaluate the learning multimedia that has been developed. The data analysis technique uses qualitative analysis that is converted into a Likert scale cumulative value. The result of the research showed that based on the analysis of multimedia learning needs, analysis of the characteristics of students, and analysis of problems encountered, obtained that methods of teaching teachers in monotonous, teachers who develop multimedia learning is only slightly, students often browsing related mathematics learning materials, students are difficult to understanding definite integral. Developed multimedia learning using the MOODLE program on the integral subject for senior high school students in grade XII that students quickly understood. The feasibility of developed products based on the calculation of average scores is an excellent category of material experts obtained for 4,37, excellent category of media experts obtained for 4,41, and decent category of students response obtained for 4,17. The student's response is decent, based on the result of the instrument of student response assessment.

Abstract

The application of conventional learning models in school plus student's mindset that mathematics is difficult, too many questions, too many formulas, making the lack of interest in learning mathematics of students, consequently the learning of mathematics unattractive so that influence on student learning result of the student. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of cooperative learning model type Jigsaw and Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) to the results of learning mathematics. The population in Gamping (SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Gamping) Sleman Regency 2016/2017 academic year is divided into three classes, which amounts to 110 students. Two classes took samples with a random sampling technique. They obtained Class VIIIC as Experiment Class I, Class VIIIB as Experiment Class II, and Class VIIIA as Trial Class. Data analysis techniques used include a prerequisite test using normality test with Chi-Square formula, homogeneity test with F test, and hypothesis test with T-test. The results showed that: (1) There was no difference in mathematics learning results between the Jigsaw type cooperative learning model and Student Team Achievement Division (STAD). This is indicated by the value Tcount = -0.08566 <Ttable = 1.99394 at a significant level of 5% and df = 71. (2) There is nothing better between the Jigsaw type cooperative learning model and the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) type. (3) Jigsaw cooperative learning model and Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) can improve students' mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

Rapid technological developments, make innovation development of instructional media of mathematics as a tool for learning. Media developed learning because students are still challenging to understand the material system of linear equations, so that the need for renewable innovations in mathematics for students in learning to overcome boredom. The use of laboratory and LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) is still not widely used in learning mathematics. This study aims to develop teaching media in the form of interactive media using Macromedia Flash 8 in the learning of mathematics in SMK on the material of the Two-Variable Linear Equations System and test the feasibility. This study focused on developing mathematics learning media packaged in a Compact Disc (CD). The development of research using (Research and Development). The subject of research is matter experts, media experts, and National Vocational High School Berbah (SMK Nasional Berbah) and Muhammadiyah Vocational High School 3 Yogyakarta (SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta). Learning media is validated by three votes materials experts, three expert media, and the subject of the trial of 10 students on a test smaller classes. All students in the pilot class of high use assessment instruments or sheets instrument quality research materials and instructional media student response. Data analysis techniques use qualitative analysis that is converted into quantitative value. Data collection techniques in the form of interviews, questionnaires, and observations. This research has succeeded in developing a medium of mathematics learning that has quality on every aspect of assessment with an average score of 76,67 material experts with good criteria and an average score of expert media assessment 40,33 with Very Good criteria. While the score of student response 69,74 with the score on the small class test and big class test with good criterion. Based on these assessments, this math learning media is worthy of being used as a learning resource for students.
