Abstract

Red Dragon fruit peel that has a high antioxidant content is very useful and suitable processed into natural coloring in household industry are easily processed. One product to apply it is the Red Velvet Cake. Red Velvet Cake is basically uses natural coloring from the bits fruit and instant food coloring. This discussion will create a research that is attempting to replace the instant food coloring and natural food coloring from the bit that is commonly used in Red Velvet Cake by making use of the Dragon fruit that is considered to be food wastes. This research aims to provide a new alternative natural food coloring in the Red Velvet Cake. Experimental research is used by doing experiments and planned and systematic testing to Red Velvet Cake, and by collecting primary data and secondary data as well. All data is presented in a descriptive with SPSS. From the results of mean average can be inferred that the Red Velvet Cake using natural food coloring from Red Dragon fruit is acceptable to the community.

Abstract

This study examined the effect of cost, productivity of assets and capital structure of an automotive companys profitability. This study focuses on the productivity of assets which include factors such as operating leverage, sales, inventory turnover, net working capital, liquidity, receivable collection, fixed asset ratio, and total asset turnover. Capital Structure includes the degree of financial leverage. Profitability factor in this study includes operating margin, return on assets and return on equity. Sample used are 45 automotive industry companies who have registered and still active until December 31, 2009. The statistical methods used in this research are classical assumption test, f test and t test. This study indicates that inventory turns, liquidity, receivable collections and, the ratio of fixed assets have a negative outcome to the total asset turnover, while net working capital has a positive outcome. Operating margin and total asset turnover both have positive values that have an impact on return on assets. Capital structure and degree of operating leverage both have negative results on the turnover of capital, while return on assets have positive results.

Abstract

The primary objective of this research is to learn the effect among return on assets (ROA), current ratio (CR), debt to equity ratio (DER), debt to total assets (DTA), and net income after tax (NIAT) with dividend payout ratio (DPR), either partially or simultaneously. Research used qualitative method with secondary data collected by purposive sampling from industrial companies sector listed in IDX and preceding journals of scientific articles. Research used simple regression to test the hypothesis simultaneously with F test and t test for testing the partial hypothesis. Results of this research describe that return on assets (ROA) and net income aftar tax (NIAT) have significant effects to dividend payout ratio, but current ratio (CR), debt to equity ratio (DER), and debt to total assets do not have significant effects to dividend payout ratio. It is recommended to further research that the topic of this reseach can be continued using merchandising and distribution company groups, or service company groups either general or special, like: hotels, insurances, hospitals, and banks.

Abstract

At the age of 24, in 2013 (the period of January to December 2013), Rajawali Citra Televisi Indonesia (RCTI) has been retaining the position of market leader with a 17.8% audience share reached. Based on that, RCTI needs to maintain to foster and expand the public watching interest on their program. This study aims to determine the effect of marketing strategy and marketing communications on brand awareness and the impact on the public watching interest on their program. The method used is associative-survey research methods. Data collection techniques are done by using a questionnaire distributed to the public viewers of RCTI and by making interviews to the Senior Manager. Data analysis techniques used is path analysis. As a result, there is a positive and significant effect of the variables of marketing strategy and marketing communications on brand awareness and the impact on public watching interest on RCTI.

Abstract

Capital Market is a significant indicator of an economy for a country. However, in Indonesia many people are not familiar yet with the investment activity in capital market. The writer is then interested to study the performance of the best (15) mutual fund (shares) 2010 version of Investor Magazine for the next period investment decision in 2011. The research will be focused on several stages. First, it will compute the return for 14 mutual funds, market return and risk-free rate for one year period. Then, the performance will be evaluated using Sharpe, Treynor to find which mutual fund outperform the market. Also, each method will result rank of the best mutual fund. Furthermore, there is one more method will be used in performance evaluation, Jensen. The result of this study is there are two mutual funds that can be recommended for investment in 2011, they are Panin Dana Maksima and Panin Dana Prima. They are recommended because the two mutual funds showed the best performance for those three methods of evaluation and they can maintain their performance for more than one period.

Abstract

Selling is the main income for companies, therefore it needs selling internal control. The research method used is exploratory; it is used through literature review and field research. In gathering secondary data, the researcher used both theoretical and company documentation by gathering, reading and learning data and information theoretically. Meanwhile, in field research, the researcher explored company in direct as research object through observation, interview, and survey by questionnaire. The research result showed that internal control in selling function still has not properly executed. Through the existing problems, it could be concluded that internal control for credit selling has not executed effectively and efficiently.

Abstract

Globalization and advanced information technology easing us for obtaining information from global stock markets. With that condition, volatility in domestic capital market could be affected by volatility from global stock markets. The effect would have greater impact if the capital markets are located in same region. That concern will be answered in this research, about volatility spillover in Indonesia, China, and India capital market. This research using daily return data from each country indices from January 1, 2006 until April 20, 2010 applying econometric model GARCH (1,1). The result showing us that there is bidirectional volatility spillover between Indonesia and India. Meanwhile, there is only single way volatility spillover between Indonesia and China.

Abstract

The effective Internal Control System plays fundamental role in a strong corporate governance. One important component of COSO Internal Control is Control Environment. This case study try to describe and discuss about the strengths and weaknesses of Control Environment, one of the Internal Control componen, of company G, a financial institution and how rapid bussiness changes affect the existing control environment. The result of this study showed that rapid business changes and the failure to identify and manage risks of the changes affect the strengths of existing control environment and heighten the weaknesses of control environment.

Abstract

Value-Added Tax (VAT) imposition on self build activity will be distinguished if it is provided by using contractor service. As the result, different VAT treatment on both transactions above has implication to whole company‘s profit. In fact, the implementation of this regulation was ineffective because Taxable Firm will easily run away from such disadvantageous regulation. This paper focuses on comparison between VAT imposition to Taxable Firm in the form of limited liability company for self build activity and equal treatment to buildingconstruction provided by contractor. In fact, from comparative and descriptive researches, it is found that equal treatment on VAT imposition for self construction by Taxable Firm will not reduce income tax earnings compared with using contractor service. On the contrary, VAT imposition for self build activity by Taxable Firm in the form of Limited Liability Company becomes ineffective. In the other sides, because VAT in by means of selfbuild activity that can not be credited it has implication to inefficiency that in turn will not conducive to business climates.

Abstract

This study has three objectives, first to determine the influence of individual competencies to employee performance, second to determine the influence of motivation on employee performance, and third to determine the influence of individual competencies and motivation on employee performance in PT. Setia Mega Beta. Typeof research used is associative research using SPSS 16 as analytical technique. The data were collected by survey through distribution of questionnaires to employees of PT. Setia Mega Beta. The results showed that individual competencies do not partially affect employee performance, motivation partially affects employeeperformance. In addition, individual competencies and motivation simultaneously affect employee performance.
