Abstract

This research was aimed to measure the effectiveness of using EZproxy on Single Sign On (SSO) in accessing electronic journals for Library Science students, Diponegoro University, Semarang. The analysis used a descriptive analysis method, which is a method that describes the data to get general conclusions. The sample was conducted by purposive sampling method. Collecting data was conducted by a questionnaire distributed to students as much 80 questionnaires. The results of this study are based on indicators of perceived ease of use resulting in a mean of 82.64% which is categorized as very effective; the perceived usefulness indicator produces the highest mean with a value of 83.80% which is categorized as very effective; behavioral intention to use indicator produces a mean of 79.89% which is categorized as effective; the actual system use indicator produces the lowest mean with a value of 74.7% which is categorized as effective. The results of the calculation of the mean value on all 35 statement items obtained a value of 81.25% which can be interpreted as very effective. So it can be concluded that EZproxy on Undip's E-Journal Single Sign On (SSO) service in accessing electronic journals has reached an effective level.

Abstract

Tulisan ini meneliti tentang penerimaan teknologi dan evaluasi penggunaan koleksi digital oleh pemustaka di Library and Knowledge Center (LKC)[1], Universitas Bina Nusantara. Tujuan dilakukan penelitian tersebut untuk mengetahui kesiapan rencana transformasi digital koleksi LKC baik dari sisi pemustaka maupun pustakawan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan menyebarkan survei ke 444 sampel. Pengumpulan data juga diperkuat dengan melakukan wawancara terhadap beberapa pustakawan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemustaka sudah siap dengan transformasi digital koleksi LKC. Akan tetapi dari sisi LKC perlu perencanaan yang matang, terutama dalam hal sosialisasi[1] Berikutnya akan disingkat menjadi LKC saja

Abstract

This study discusses the auditors’ experiences in carrying out audits. The aim of this study is to identify the auditors’ experiences in carrying out internal audits at Ministry X. This study uses qualitative approach with the phenomenological method. The data collection technique used in this research are observation and interview with 4 (four) auditors with different level of expertise. Based on the research results, the experiences of the four auditors in carrying out audits at Ministry X is interpreted as an awareness based on things that support their profession, such as practice and knowledge which is gained from their past education. This awareness also grows their integrity and objectivity as an auditor. The awareness also makes an intersubjectivity that is built from good relations between the fellow auditors, the leader, and the auditees. This supports the four auditors to act professionally and accountably during working time and friendly when out of working hours.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas mengenai upaya meningkatkan kualitas layanan di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Daerah Karawang. Perpustakaan dan Arsip Daerah Karawang yang didirikan tahun 1996, keberadaan perpustakaan dan arsip daerah Karawang ini untuk meningkatkan kecerdasan dan keberdayaan bangsa serta sebagai sarana pembelajaran masyarakat sepanjang hayat. Apa yang diberikan oleh perpustakaan dan arsip daerah karawang untuk kebutuhan informasi masyarakatnya.

Abstract

This research was aimed to examine how the work system of archival institutions in terms of the management of archives must be transformed into digital/electronic systems in the current era of information and communication technology advancements. Archival descriptions have an important role in processing archives at archival institutions. However, archive descriptions are not organized efficiently and effectively in a digital environment. Metadata of archive is often lacking in archive descriptions of digital formats, making it difficult for users to locate and access archives of digital formats. This research uses a qualitative approach with literature studies. Relevant sources are collected, processed, selected, and used to analyze the standard concept of records in contect (RiC) descriptions and digital archive representations in the processing of digital-based archives at archival institutions. The result of this research showed that the application of RiC description standards in digital archive processing provides more accurate and quality archive representations, thereby increasing accessibility and retrieval of digital archive at archival institutions.

Abstract

Building a society that is literate to information in rural coastal areas is a challenge for information activists. The lack of access to information such as reading materials and low awareness of the importance of knowledge are often obstacles. This study examines the efforts of the Kuncup Mekar Community Reading Park (TBM) in the village of Kepek Gunungkidul Yogyakarta in building information literacy for people living in coastal and rural areas through the One Home One Library program, so that it has an impact on improving the quality of education and the economy. The author uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. Informants were selected through a purposive technique, namely people who are considered very instrumental and understand the One Home One Library program. Based on the data obtained, TBM Kuncup Mekar conducted the One Home One Library program through 5 (five) stages, namely socialization, preparing bookshelves in each house, distributing books, making book control tools, and arranging book lending schedules. The One Home One Library program has been able to instill public information literacy skills which have an impact on the education and economic aspects of the community. The impact of information literacy skills include; increasing children's interest in reading and learning, the emergence of parents' desire to provide access to learning and information for their children, as well as increasing community understanding in agricultural and livestock cultivation.

Abstract

The Indonesian government, through the Ministry of Education and Culture, has appealed to all schools to carry out online learning as stated in the Circular of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 4 of 2020 concerning the Implementation of Education in the Emergency Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19). As a result, many students find it difficult to undergo the learning process online due to limited electronic learning resources. Departing from this problem, it is necessary to have a digital library that can be used as a learning resource to optimize the online learning process. This research was carried out using descriptive quantitative methods involving SMA Negeri 3 Batam students as research subjects. Based on the data obtained, it is known that as many as 31.80% of students find it difficult to get learning resources during the online learning process. Therefore, presenting a digital library is the right step to optimize online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic..

Abstract

Pada masa pandemi seperti saat ini website merupakan salah satu media yang sangat vital bagi sebuah Perpustakaan Perguruan Tinggi. Melalui website, Perpustakaan dapat memberikan informasi sekaligus memberikan layanan kepada para pemustaka secara daring. Perguruan Tinggi Muhammadiyah/`Asiyiyah (PTMA) di Indonesia saat ini mencapai 174 Perguruan Tinggi (PT). Namun dari 174 PTMA tersebut hanya 43 PTMA yang mempunyai website perpustakaan. Salah satu faktor yang melatarbelakangi hal tersebut yaitu kurangnya SDM dalam proses pengembangan website perpustakaan. Untuk itu penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan produk berupa Content Management System (CMS) berbasis web yang dapat digunakan oleh Perpustakaan PTMA sebagai media informasi. CMS tersebut didesain dengan sedemikian rupa sehingga pengguna tidak perlu lagi mahir dalam bahasa pemrograman. Dalam proses penelitiannya, peneliti menggunakan metode reseacrh and development (R&D). Ada beberapa tahapan dalam proses pengembangan sistem menurut metode ini. Tahapan tersebut meliputi analisis potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi sistem, revisi desain, ujicoba produk, revisi produk, uji coba pemakaian, revisi produk dan produksi masal. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa CMS yang dikembangkan oleh peneliti telah memenuhi standar kualitas website. Kesimpulan tersebut berdasarkan hasil uji coba produk melalui indikator usability, functionality, dan efficiency. Setelah CMS ini diimplementasikan oleh Perpustakaan PTMA, pengembangan sistem harus terus dilakukan karena kebutuhan sistem sewaktu-waktu akan berubah, sehingga harus dilakan ujicoba produk dan revisi produk secara berkala dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This research was aimed to study librarians’ perceptions towards online library training during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study used a descriptive-qualitative and a triangulation method. A survey was conducted on eight librarians of PDDI-LIPI who had joined an in passing online librarian training via Eldika, a web-based application program developed by the National Library. The recorded perceptions were perceptions towards trainers, learning media/ platform, learning materials, and online training. The results were summarized into tables and narrative descriptions, then triangulated through direct interviews to explore the causes and solutions to problems related to the online training. The result of this research indicated that librarians’ perceptions towards all four online training indicators were positive. However, weakness was found regarding the online training platform. Based on the findings, this study suggested that the National Library and other institutions provide online librarian training to develop some more friendly platforms accessible for librarians with various IT skills, and an IT support service quickly responded during training.

Abstract

Technological advances have an impact on library services. This can be seen from the change in services that were previously manual but now use technology. The existence of technology in circulation services then developed again by presenting self service technology (SST).One of the libraries that implements a self-service system is the Grhatama Pustaka Yogyakarta Library. Grhatama library has visitors who vary in terms of age and status, including students, students and workers. Usability is an attribute used to measure the quality of the interface used by the user. Usability in self-service technology in libraries can be used to determine whether a technology-based service is appropriate and easy to use by users.This study aims to determine the effect of the level of usability in the application of self-service technology on user satisfaction in the library unit Grhatama Pustaka Yogyakarta and users consisting of three groups, namely students, students and workers. Usability consists of effectiveness, efficiency, aesthetic appearance, terminology, navigation, and learnability. This study uses a survey method with a quantitative approach. The research sample was taken using purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques used are questionnaires, observation, literature study and documentation. The results of this study indicate that there is an effect of usability self service technology on user satisfaction. In addition, there are differences in the level of influence of usability in self service technology on the satisfaction of the three groups of users in this study, namely students, students and workers
