Abstract

This study explains about social media development in the library 2.0 service based on Akademi Keperawatan Notokusumo Yogyakarta Library experience. The development of library 2.0 service aims to resolve the distance problem of library service. This study uses qualitative method with action research approach. From the research strategy, it shows that people are easier to be connected with social media Instagram rather than the others. However, the obstacle of this development comes from the librarians who are less experience to deal with social media owned by the library. The best solution is by holding some training in advance of social media management and social media communication.Keywords: Library 2.0, Social Media, Library Service

Abstract

AbstrakArtikel yang merupakan hasi penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Strategi Pengelolaan Perpustakaan Dalam Rangka Meningkatkan Minat Kunjung Siswa Di MAN 1 Medan dengan fokus: 1) Strategi pengelolaan perpustakaan di MAN-1 Medan, (2) Meningkatkan minat kunjung siswa di MAN-1 Medan, (3) Faktor pendukung pelaksanaan strategi pengelolaan perpustakaan dalam rangka meningkatkan minat kunjung siswa di MAN 1 Medan. (4) Faktor penghambat pelaksanaan strategi pengelolaan perpustakaan dalam rangka meningkatkan minat kunjung siswa di MAN 1 Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif naturalistik. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan tiga temuan yaitu : (1) Strategi yang digunakan MAN-1 Medan  saat ini sudah cukup baik dalam pengelolaan perpustakaan. Hal ini bisa dilihat dari pelayanan yang diberikan SDM perpustakaan terhadap pengunjung perpustakaan. (2) Meningkatkan minat kunjung siswa adalah tugas bersama antara kepala madrasah, kepala perpustakaan, pustakawan dan para guru yang ada di dalamnya yaitu dengan melakukan pembinaan pada setiap tahun ajaran baru dengan memperkenalkan perpustakaan kepada siswa yang baru melalui kegiatan sosialisasi pada hari ketiga ta’aruf. (3) Faktor pendukung dalam melaksanakan setrategi pengelolaan perpustakaan untuk meningkatkan minat kunjung adalah sarana dan prasarana sudah cukup lengkap dan dengan menambah koleksi buku di dalam perpustakaan yang bersumber dari sumbangan alumni dan buku BOS. (4) Sedangkan faktor penghambatnya adalah dari segi dana, untuk menambah koleksi – koleksi tersebut. Karena biasanya perpustakaan sekolah kebanyakan menyediakan koleksi buku paket. yang minim dengan koleksi referensinya.AbstractThis article is based on research which aimed at finding out the strategy of library operation of MAN-1 Medan in improving students’ interest in visiting the library. The main focuses of this research are: 1) The strategy of library operation of MAN-1 Medan; 2) Improving students’ interest in visiting the library; 3) Supporting factors in carrying out the strategy; and, 4) Obstacles faced in carrying out the strategy. This naturalistic qualitative research found that: 1) The strategy used in library operation of MAN-1 Medan has been good. This can be identified from the service provided by the librarians to the students visiting the library. 2) The efforts to improve library visit by the students are shared responsibilities of the Headmaster, Chief Librarian, the librarians, and teachers in conducting library orientation for all new students. 3) The supporting factors in carrying out the strategy is by providing library facilities and acquiring more new book collection, either from the government or alumni. 4) The main obstacle faced in carrying out the strategy is lack of fund to acquire new collection.

Google Books, as one of the facilities provided by Google,  has been evoking a tremendous digital disruption toward the libraries. Until 2016, Google had successfully scanned 30 million in 480 languages. Both libraries and librarians, as the most responsible party in providing quality information to their customers, should provide this extraordinary source as an alternative to meet the information needs of their communities, unfortunately, this tremendous potential has not been widely introduced yet. Abstract

Library need a leader who has high integrity to develop library along current times. One leadership style that can be applied in library is prophetic leadership. This research aims to explain about concept of prophetic leadership in management of human resources in library by study of literature method. Prophetic leadership appropriate and can applied in library because a leader who has a prophetic leadership style has a high integrity (As Sidq), reliable (Al Amanah) means the leader of library forms should prove a real job, At-Talbligh mean the leader of the library must be willing to receive constructive feedback, and Al Fatanah, leader of the library should make him able to work intelligently and decisively by combining intellectual intelligence (IQ), emotional intelligence (EQ) and spiritual intelligence (SQ). Library leaders which good quality will deliver high quality human resources, therefore the role of head library in management of human resources is crucial to realize the human resources professional and competent in the library.

Abstract

AbstrakDalam paradigma baru, perpustakaan merupakan sesuatu yang hidup, dinamis, segar menawarkan hal-hal yang baru, produk layanannya inovatif dan dikemas sedemikian rupa, sehingga apa pun yang ditawarkan oleh perpustakaan akan menjadi atraktif, interaktif, edukatif dan rekreatif bagi pengunjungnya. Di dunia perpustakaan, informasi menjadi garapan utama pengelolaannya untuk kepentingan peningkatan kualitas manusia pada umumnya. Dengan menggunakan metode penyebaran informasi, diharapkan masyarakat dapat mengakses secara terbuka sehingga pengetahuan masyarakat akan terus meningkat sejalan dengan penghidupannya. Untuk itu masyarakat yang mendapat kemudahan akses informasi akan mampu belajar lebih banyak, sebab dengan informasi yang diperolehnya akan menambah wawasan dan pengalaman. Kebutuhan informasi muncul akibat adanya kesenjangan pengetahuan yang ada dalam diri seseorang dengan kebutuhan informasi yang diperlukan. Dalam makalah ini terdapat lima (5) model-model prilaku yang dibahas yaitu: model Wilson, model Krikelas, model Johnson, model Leckie, dan model Ellis. AbstractIn a new paradigm, library is a growing organism; it is dynamic and always offer new endeavors. Its services have always been innovative and packaged in such a new way that it becomes attractive, interactive, educative, and re-creative for its users. In library context, information has been a core business to manage to improve the quality of human intellectual. By the dissemination of information, people are expected to have access to new knowledge to increase their life expectancy. Those who have access to more information will automatically learn more and knowledgeable more than those who are not. The need for information raises as there is a gap between their current knowledge and the demand of new knowledge. This article discusses 5 models of human behaviors including: Wilson, Krikelas, Johnson, Leckie, and Ellis.

Abstract

This article discusses related to the implementation of "knowledge sharing" between librarians and users in the library of Univ. Mercubuana Cab. Cibubur. This type of research is qualitative using case study method. The case study method is used to see how the application of "knowledge sharing" between librarians and users in Univ libraries. Mercubuana. To get success of academic library in carrying out its functions, it is necessary to assess the performance of the library. This is related to information treated by the lbrarians. Information management is a way of treating information to be useful and targetted. Information management requires librarians to foster a sharing culture in the library so that the distribution function in the library can run optimally. Artikel ini membahas terkait dengan penerapan “knowledge sharing” antara pustakawan dan pengguna di perpustakaan Univ. Mercubuana Cab. Cibubur. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode studi kasus. Metode studi kasus digunakan untuk melihat bagaimana penerapan “knowledge sharing” antara pustakawan dan pengguna di perpustakan  Univ. Mercubuana. Untuk melihat keberhasilan  perpustakaan perguruan tinggi dalam menjalankan fungsinya, perlu untuk dinilai kinerja perpustakaan yang bersangkutan. Hal ini terkait dengan informasi yang diperlakukan oleh pustakawan. Manajemen informasi merupakan suatu cara untuk memperlakukan informasi agar berguna dan tepat sasaran. Manajemen informasi juga menuntut pustakawan untuk menumbuhkan budaya sharing di perpustakaan sehingga fungsi distribusi pada perpustakaan dapat berjalan dengan optimal.

Abstract

Student university’s final report (thesis and dissertation) abundant in the library. The abundance of these resources requires librarians make a breakthrough easy to information retrieval. This collection is limited access, one user and unique. Will be the maximum in utilization if librarians do innovation. Forms final report begins with hardcover binding form to the CD collection. Collaboration technology in library information into the background of self-contained systems upload final report. Upload independent chains will shorten the handover-upload the final report in the library. There are three components in the success of independent upload final report, namely Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) clear, professional competence of librarians and IT support. These three components are inseparable and intertwined in the process of self-upload success. Expectations with self-contained systems upload final report is easy retrieval of information so that more resources maximized.

Abstract

The study of information literacy among students of Library and Information Science that exists throughout the University in Indonesia showed an increase. This is apparent in the researches of students in graduation thesis which has been created by graduates of undergraduate or master's degree in Library and Information Science in Indonesia. This happens also among students of Library and Information Science Fikom and served with improved information literacy study conducted the students to complete a final project. This study aims to find out the trend of the development of the research on information literacy in the thesis students of Library and Information Science Padjadjaran University. Methods in this study is a library research. Results of the study showed total use of literacy or information literacy concepts on student research conducted as many as 22 titles and there are 15 thesis/theses (68.2%) who use the models of information literacy to address a variety of problems that they are scrupulous or become a source of reference for determining the various concepts for the benefit of their research. Big 6 model widely used student. The following models used information literacy: Big 6; Information Literacy model 7 steps of Knowledge Management; The Seven Pillars Of Information Literacy SCONUL; Empowering 8; Model 6-Scientific Information Literacy Model; Plus Model; Pattern and Model LISA; ACRL Literacy Model (Information Literacy Competency Standards For Higher Education).

Abstract

Hedonism amid net generation resulting behavior of the next generation has a high level of technology use and consumptive nature that likes to update the latest technology and social media use is high. This resulted in net generation behavioral change. To anticipate these behavioral changes will require librarians to become a partner of the user. Improvement can be done by making the librarian as cybrarian. Establishment of cybrarian is the one way to increase human resources in the library to provide services according to needs of the net generation. This increase can be given the library by providing training and education. A cybrarian will have the ability to visual literacy, digital literacy, ICT literacy, information literacy, and the others. Cybrarian will have the ability to provide knowledge to the net generation, so that the gadget they have to be utilized, particularly those giving a positive effect in improving technological capabilities and user communication.
