Abstract

This study analyzes the criteria of literary criticism on the beauty aspect of Arabic poetry in classical and modern contexts, focusing on the criteria of poetry beauty put forward by Ibn Qutaibah and Mahmud Sami Al-Barudi. Arabic poetry that has existed since the ignorant era is the main form of expression of the Arab nation that reflects their social, cultural, and political conditions. This study uses the work of Ibn Qutaibah entitled Asy-Syi'ru wa asy-Syu'ara' and the work of Mahmud Sami Al-Barudi entitled Al-hikam as the object of research material. The research method used is a descriptive-qualitative method, the data taken from primary data. The data collection method uses the observation method with a note-taking technique. Furthermore, the data collected by the researcher is grouped according to the existing framework. The results of this study indicate that the criteria for the beauty of poetry according to Ibn Qutaibah are very simple and objective, only covering the quality of the words and meaning, while Mahmud Sami Al-Barudi emphasizes more on the aesthetic aspects and internationalization of poetry. This study also shows that poetry not only functions as art but also as a communication tool that reflects the identity and social values of society.

Abstract

Arabic holds a strategic position in the intellectual and spiritual history of Islam as the language of revelation as well as a medium for the transmission of knowledge across regions and generations. This study analyzes the role of Arabic as a lingua franca in Islamic education and contemporary scholarly communication through a qualitative-descriptive approach based on literature review. The results show that Arabic functions as an epistemological bridge between learners and the corpus of Islamic scholarship, and as a means of accessing classical texts and contemporary academic discourse. However, modern challenges such as globalization, the dominance of foreign languages, and insufficient academic proficiency in Arabic restrict the optimization of this role. The findings emphasize the need for strengthened language policies, curricular integration that combines textual literacy and scholarly communication, and the development of an academic culture rooted in Arabic. With these strategies, Arabic has the potential to be revitalized as a scientific lingua franca that strengthens the intellectual identity of Islam and enhances academic contribution at the global level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' ability to construct Arabic sentences through the application of the Complete Sentence method among tenth grade students of MAS Al-Washliyah 12 Perbaungan. The research was motivated by the low proficiency of students in combining vocabulary into grammatically correct sentences based on the rules of nahwu and sharaf. Many students faced difficulties due to their limited mastery of mufradat (vocabulary), lack of understanding of sentence structures, and low self-confidence in sentence construction.This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the Complete Sentence method helps students understand sentence structure contextually, enhances participation, and improves their skills in composing complete sentences by engaging in activities that require them to complete unfinished sentences. Although challenges remain such as varying levels of students' basic abilities and limited class time gradual guidance and repeated practice were found to significantly improve students' oral and written performance. Therefore, the Complete Sentence method proved effective in enhancing students' ability to construct Arabic sentences at MAS Al-Washliyah 12 Perbaungan

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap makna denotatif dan konotatif yang terkandung dalam puisi religi " ياربّ ياعالم الحال " karya Imam Abdullah bin Alawi Al-Haddad melalui kajian semiotika Roland Barthes. Karya sastra, khususnya puisi atau syair, memiliki kepadatan makna yang efisien dalam penggunaan bahasanya, sehingga membutuhkan analisis mendalam seperti semiotika. Semiotika adalah disiplin ilmu yang mempelajari hubungan antartanda dengan tujuan menafsirkan dan memberi makna pada sebuah teks. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan memfokuskan analisis pada makna denotatif (makna literal atau aktual) dan makna konotatif (makna sekunder, yang lebih kompleks dan subjektif, dipengaruhi oleh konteks budaya dan nilai-nilai sosial) yang terdapat dalam bait-bait puisi tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa makna denotatif memberikan makna literal yang dapat ditemukan dalam kamus, sedangkan makna konotatif dalam puisi ini mengungkap dimensi filosofis atau sufistik. Makna konotatif yang ditemukan merupakan gambaran mendalam tentang sikap rendah hati (kemiskinan/kemelaratan) seorang hamba di hadapan Allah, pengakuan bahwa Allah adalah satu-satunya sumber pertolongan, penegasan Keesaan dan kesempurnaan mutlak Allah, dan bahwa tujuan hidup tertinggi (maqam) adalah meraih ridha Allah yang abadi. Puisi ini pada hakikatnya merupakan permohonan (munajat) dan pengakuan atas kelemahan seorang hamba. Penelitian ini berkontribusi dalam memperluas pemahaman makna spiritual di balik puisi-puisi religius berbahasa Arab bagi pembaca non-Arab, khususnya di Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis maharah qira'ah (kemampuan membaca bahasa Arab) siswa kelas sembilan di MTs Ali Imron dari perspektif teori pengajaran bahasa Arab untuk penutur non-asli. Penelitian ini dimotivasi oleh rendahnya tingkat kompetensi membaca siswa, khususnya dalam kelancaran membaca, pemahaman struktur kalimat, dan penguasaan pemahaman. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, dengan data yang dikumpulkan melalui observasi kelas, wawancara mendalam dengan guru dan siswa, serta dokumentasi kegiatan pembelajaran dan hasil penilaian. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar kemampuan maharah qira'ah siswa tetap berada pada tingkat rendah hingga menengah ke bawah. Siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam pengucapan yang akurat, pemahaman struktur tata bahasa, dan penafsiran makna teks bahasa Arab secara kontekstual. Tantangan ini dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor, antara lain metode pengajaran yang berpusat pada guru, terbatasnya kesempatan untuk latihan intensif membaca, rendahnya motivasi belajar, dan minimnya paparan terhadap teks bahasa Arab otentik. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penerapan strategi pengajaran komunikatif, kontekstual, dan berpusat pada siswa sangat penting untuk meningkatkan kompetensi membaca siswa. Mengintegrasikan beragam media pembelajaran dan menyediakan aktivitas membaca yang bermakna dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan efektivitas siswa dalam mempelajari maharah qira'ah bagi pembelajar bahasa Arab non-penutur asli.Kata kunci: Pengajaran Bahasa Arab, Maharah Qira'ah, Penutur Non-Asli, Keterampilan Membaca, Strategi Pengajaran.
