Abstract

Based on the legal provisions and the existing norm values that CSWs are prohibited in Indonesia. However, CSWs are still commonly found in social life. The research began with a Chinese funeral complex, Kembang Kuning Surabaya, which was used as the location of a prostitute. The research objective is to identify the position of religious values in CSWs, identify social reality in CSWs, and identify a person's rational choice to become CSWs. While the research method used is descriptive qualitative through data collection techniques according to observation and interviews. James S. Coleman's rational choice theory is used to analyze the data found. The results showed that the position of religion still exists within a prostitute. The responsibility to make ends meet and the demands to pay large amounts of debt are the reasons for someone to become a prostitute.

Abstract

Policy implementation is the most crucial stage of the policy process because, at this stage, benefits will be obtained from previously defined concepts. Regarding the policy for the construction of the Salutambung-Aralle axis, the steps taken were to compare the implementation of the policies of the Governor of West Sulawesi in each period so that the efforts and obstacles of each Governor were found in that period. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive analysis type. The study results show that during the reign of Anwar Adnan Saleh, efforts to increase the construction of the road got an excellent basis after changing its status from a district road to a provincial strategic highway. Meanwhile, during the administration of the Governor of ABM, policy planning was quite good. Still, it did not have a strong commitment at the implementation stage, as evidenced by various obstacles, including passing incompetent contractors and a lack of communication involving the community.

Abstract

Prabowo's joining of President Jokowi's cabinet is expected to end the polarization of tadpoles versus "kampret". But now, a new label appears called 'Kadrun' or Lizard of the Desert form. Political commentators often use Kadrun on social media as a unique nickname for parties or people against the government. This paper aims to describe the situation of political polarization in Indonesia with the use of religious identity. The analysis focuses on the traces of political labelling "kadrun" on social media that amplify political polarization. The approach used is the descriptive qualitative semiotic framework of Roland Barthes and the concept of labelling as political communication propaganda. The results showed that labelling techniques were used as political propaganda. Kadrun was originally political labelling about the religious identity of certain groups with a political position as opposed to the government. The use of the term kadrun vs cebong on social media by many political commentators has further widened political polarization

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic brings the threat of a global food crisis. Indonesia's food system is vulnerable because it only depends on one type of food, namely rice. Hopes about Indonesia's food security have returned to the potential for local food diversity, as well as moving from food security to food sovereignty. This study will focus on the process of developing local food in Indonesia which is considered a way out of the threat of a global food crisis due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The purpose of this study is to find out a general description of the condition of local food in Indonesia so far. The method used in this research is desk research using a political-economic approach in the context of neoliberalism. The results of this study indicate that Indonesia is "half-heartedly" in developing local food as a result of its position between the dichotomy of food sovereignty versus global trade liberalization.
