Abstract

Wiwanda Agrow is one of the strawberry agritourism in Bali that has not used the assessment theory of supply chain management to assess its performance. This study aims to analyze the performance of Wiwanda Agrow's supply chain using the SCOR theory with the AHP approach. SCOR is a supply chain reference unit that integrates elements in management, namely business process reengineering, benchmarking, and measurement processes. The AHP method is a weighting process for each criterion, attribute, and sub-criteria. The results of distributing SCOR-based construct questionnaires obtained 5 core processes or criteria, 10 attributes, and 22 key performance indicators for further analysis using the AHP method. The results of data processing using expert choice software. The lowest value in the return process is found in the key indicator performance (RRE 1) level of consumer complaint handling with a value of 0.003 and the highest performance value is found in the plan criteria with key indicator performance (PRE 1) planning of strawberry seedlings with a value of 0.252. The overall performance assessment result of Wiwanda Agrow was 89.3. This value is categorized as "good" performance based on the normalization theory.

Abstract

Seeds are an important factor in the success of planting potatoes. In Indonesia, the availability of quality potato seeds is very small. The aims of this research were (1) to find out the best composition of the rice husk charcoal and soil planting medium in terms of the physical properties of the planting medium and  (2) to find out the best media capable of optimally producing seed potatoes with the best quality. This study used a factorial design with two factors. The first factor is the composition of the planting medium which consists of 5 levels, the second factor is the observation time which consists of 4 levels. Five levels of cultivation treatment consisted of husk charcoal and soil, four levels of observation were 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks and 8 weeks. husk charcoal 100%, soil 100%, husk charcoal: 50% soil: 50%, husk charcoal: 75% soil: 25%, and husk charcoal: 25% soil: 75%. The parameters observed in this study included the porosity of the planting medium, pH and electrical conductivity of nutrients, volume of nutrients bound to the growing media, plant development and productivity. Judging from the physical properties, the results showed that the media of 100% husk charcoal had the best porosity of 55.35%, and a pH value of 6.7. Husk charcoal: 50% soil: 50% yields water availability for plants 22.04% w.b, has the highest binding of nutrients with a value of 742 µS/cm, plant height 74 cm, maximum number of leaves 14 leaf branches, root length down 63 cm, and the average number of tubers is at most 7 knol/plant. Treatment of rice husk charcoal: soil 50% : 50% was the best capable of producing potato seeds by producing a tuber weight of 240 g/plant and producing 29 S and M sized tubers from 40 tubers.

Abstract

Purple leaves (Graptophyllum pictum L griff) is a plant that has many benefits. People generally use purple leaves plants as herbal plants. The part of this plant that is often used is the leaves. Various kinds of processed purple leaf products have been developed, one of which is a purple leaf herbal drink that can be brewed like tea. In the manufacture of these products, a purple leaves drying process is required, namely the process of reducing the moisture content of the wet material to a certain moisture content value. The use of a dryer is able to speed up the drying process, not dependent to the weather, quality guarantee, more hygienic product, homogenic result, and it does not require a large area. In this study, a rack-type flash dryer was used with LPG fuel and added a fan to obtain a forced convection effect, in which hot air is circulated evenly by the fan in the drying chamber. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of temperature distribution in the drying chamber, calculate the efficiency of the drying machine, and determine the final moisture content of the material from the drying process. The conclusion of this study shows that the flash dryer is very efficient in the process of drying purple leaves, the lowest water content is found on shelf 2 (middle part) with an average of 7.47% with a large amount of energy used of 38,246.55 kJ. And the efficiency of the dryer reaches 90.62%. The temperature distribution that occurs in the drying chamber for 4 hours of the drying process is quite even and has an average temperature of 50oC.

Abstract

Disturbances in water distribution are also sometimes caused by the presence of rubbish and biasing factors (decreased discharge) also ignoring the flow of numbak (straight flow) and ngerirun (curved flow). With this understanding, farmers (krama subak) whose land is located downstream tend to get less water quota than they should. This research aims to determine the performance of irrigation water distribution management according to RPM values and criteria in traditional subak and semi-technical Subak. This research uses a descriptive quantitative method that explains events based on the RPM values of 30 buildings for (temuku) in Subak in Gianyar Regency. The research results showed that 30% had very poor irrigation water distribution performance, 30% had poor performance criteria, 13% had sufficient performance criteria, and 27% had good performance criteria. From these results, it is also possible to obtain a new dimension of the subak building using a proportional formula approach involving variables of the area of the subak provided with irrigation water, the area of the subak downstream, as well as a water flow disturbance coefficient of around 1.05 to 1.1.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the type of container (bamboo basket, plastic basket, and cardboard) on the physical characteristics and quality of tomatoes during the distribution process using ground transportation simulation. This study used a 2 factorial randomized block design (RBD) with 3 repetitions. The results of this study indicate that the maximal physical damage occurred in the bamboo basket container within 5 hours of treatment because the bamboo basket has rough sides and high porosity of 4.078% (physical damage in the form of increased scratches and bruises and decreased hardness). Minimal damage occurred in the cardboard container with a 1-hour treatment because it has a smooth coating of the container and not too high porosity, namely 3.960%. The best container to use in the tomato distribution process using a ground transportation simulation is a cardboard container (having low porosity the cardboard and a smooth container layer) so can be maintained the condition of the tomatoes.

Abstract

The Management Performance Ratio (MPR) is a comparison between the water flowrate given and the water flowrate requirement for each agricultural land. The subak system in Bali is based on socio technical-religious and economic concepts. This study aims to calculate the MPR value and its distribution as well as find out the irrigation water distribution strategy so that irrigation performance becomes "adequate" to "good" in Subak Gede Kedewatan, Gianyar Regency. This research was carried out using a quantitative analysis approach through surveys and direct measurements in the field. The result showed that percentage distribution of MPR criteria for "good" was 5 subaks (18.52%), "adequate" 4 subaks (14.81%), "poor" 9 subaks (33.33%), and "very poor" 9 subaks (33 ,33%). The MPR value of subak in the upstream area is entirely in the "very poor" criterion with an MPR value of 1.85. Followed by subak in the central region, all of them are in the "low" criterion with an MPR value of 1.45. In contrast to the downstream, the subaks in this area have the criteria of "adequate" and "good" with a distribution of RPM values of 0.64 - 1.05. Subaks that get excess water, then the rest of the irrigation water is channeled to the pangkung, which will be the main water source for subak natak tiyis (tapping taps).

Abstract

Non-thermal plasma is ionized gas which comprised of neutral molecules, excited atom, and charged molecules. Some of the molecules are so very reactive that react rapidly to almost organic or non-organicmatter. Due to its properties, plasma is recently applied to decontaminate agricultural products from various contaminants. In the case of fresh produce such fruit and vegetable, non-thermal plasma is used to kill bacteria and other microorganisms attached to a product’s surface, or to degrade the pesticide residues coating the product. These contaminants affect product quality in a certain way thus, they could reduce the profit gain by producers, handlers, and sellers. Some mechanisms explained how non-thermal plasma reduce the level of contaminant have been proposed by researchers. The point are the reactive species damage the cell wall of microorganisms making them non-viable or damaged, and they could react to pesticide compounds as well and degrade them to less harmful compounds. However, the same reactive species not only react to target-matter but also react to product tissues around the plasma applied and affect the quality of the treated product. This paper reviews the effect of non-thermal plasma on fresh product quality from physical, physiological, chemical, and microbiological viewpoints.
