Abstract

The spirit of renewal voiced by modernists in the Middle East is so strong that it affects K.H. Ahmad Dahlan to establish the Muhammadiyah organization. Muhammadiyah was established to accommodate and transform ideas for renewal to the people of Indonesia. Muhammadiyah emerged among Indonesian people who experienced anxiety and social, religious, and moral concerns. In understanding the texts of the Koran and hadith and looking for community-oriented values, this organization uses proportional reasoning. However, the appreciation he gave to reason was not as high as the Mu'tazilah as a rationalist. Therefore, Harun Nasution called this organization adhering to the traditional theology style of Ash'ariah. Muhammadiyah's theological thinking is relevant to his renewed thinking. The relevance of his theological thinking with the thought of renewal is seen in two aspects, namely: first, style. Theological thinking and thinking of renewal in the field of law are both traditional in style. The style of his theological thinking is also relevant to his renewed thinking in the religious field which is characterized by revivalism, fundamentalism and purification. Second, the substance of thought. Muhammadiyah's theological thinking about the position of reason, the function of revelation, the concept of faith, free will and predestination, the sending of apostles, sunnatullah, and the anthropomorphism verses are relevant to the thought of renewal in the religious field about ijtihad, criticism of taklid, calls back to the Qur'an and hadith. Muhammadiyah's theological thinking about the position of reason and the sending of the apostle are relevant to the thinking of renewal in the field of education.

Abstract

The inclusion of the Ombudsman in the Amendment to the 1945 Constitution will place the existence of the Ombudsman's recommendations philosophically (as well as politically) with high value. So that even though it is not legally binding, it is still obeyed by the State Administration. The position of the Ombudsman is a state institution that is independent and does not have an organic relationship with state institutions and other government agencies, and in carrying out its duties and authority free from interference from other powers.

Abstract

Hamka's interpretation of al-Azhar in his interpretation clearly reveals the operational-functional hermeneutics of the Qur'an, although methodologically it is not as a whole and synergistic in representing the Qur'an's hermeneutics as a method of interpretation. "Taslim" referred to by Hamka in the direction of al-Azhar's interpretation of aqidah and worship is the statement of faith and worship not on the understanding and spirit of the verse. The non-use of the term hermeneutics in al-Azhar's interpretation does not require the absence of hermeneutical or operational-functional ideas in the study of the Qur'an. Therefore, efforts to make contextualization of the Qur'an, as initiated by hermeneutics when dealing with text in embodying the meaning of the Qur'anic sholihun likulli era wa makan as a Christian solution, to further earth the al-Qur'an has long been done.

Abstract

The results of this study show leadership theory proposed by Max Weber and the type of leadership in an educational organization namely Weber which divides leadership patterns based on their dominance theory into three, namely traditional, charismatic, and rational leadership. It turns out that in practice the leadership of the kiai in pesantren has a very important role to advance the world of education in boarding schools. But what is also important is the educational background of the clerics and the environment where the kiai is. The type of kiai leadership in Islamic Boarding School Nurul Islam by kiai Syazali uses a type of traditionalist charismatic leadership and in certain moments uses an autocratic and democratic pattern, in the curriculum it has combined between salafiyah and modern, it can be seen from the inclusion of several government curricula, both from the Education Office and the Ministry Religion. Whereas the type of leadership applied by the cleric Tol'at is a type of modernist rational leadership, and at certain times intructive and coordinative patterns are used by scholars and practicing politics. So that it has implications for the activities of the pesantren both concerning the regeneration of leadership, the learning system, the value system and the network of kiai in society, to the kiai with practical politics. It is increasingly interesting to explore this dissertation further, so that the Malay traditions in South Sumatra appear to be correct.

Abstract

Abstract The relationship between Islam and pancasila in Indonesia is still an unfinished issue. The attitude of Indonesian Muslims is divided into three groups. The fundamentalists reject Pancasila as the basis of the state and want Islam to formally become the basis of the state. Nationalist groups reject Islam associated with state issues. The modernist group considers that there is no conflict between Islam and Pancasila so that the Pancasila can be accepted as the basis of the state for the Indonesian nation which is predominantly Muslim. The three groups, despite having different views, however, they depart from the same assumption, namely that there are two different and independent things, namely Islam and Pancasila. The problem raised in this study is how is Islam in the thought of Hidayat Nataatmadja? How is the Pancasila in the thought of Hidayat Nataatmadja? and how is the relationship between Islam and Pancasila in the thought of Hidayat Nataatmadja? Through Pancasila which is substantively the values of Islamic teachings, Indonesian Muslims build new sciences. Above the new sciences new social systems are built. With the new social systems, Muslims organize a new society. It is with this new society that has been organized in an Islamic manner that Muslims build a formal Islamic civilization without the name of Islam. With the building of Islamic civilization, Muslims can compete and outperform other world civilizations. Smart and dignified.

Abstract

Dutch power in Indonesia is being intensified with the mission of Christianization. Traditional methods of suppressing Islam are considered not capable of being a solution to various problems faced by Muslims. For this reason Ahmad Surkati came to Indonesia at Jamiat Khair's request to teach. Then there was a dispute between Ahmad Surkati and other Jamiat Khair figures. This is what causes Ahmad Surkati to leave the Khair Jamaah. Then joined the non-sayyid group to establish an Islamic organization which was given the name Al-Ershad. With the aim of renewing Muslims in Indonesia. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method. While the types and sources of data used in the study are qualitative data that are sourced from primary and secondary data. From the results of the analysis, it can be seen that Ahmad Surkati is one of the leaders of Islamic reformers in Indonesia originating from Sudan. His arrival in Indonesia on the basis of Jamiat Khair's request as a teaching staff, namely in 1911. Later he founded the Association of Al-Ershad in 1914 as a place to carry out a movement for renewal. Ahmad Surkati's renewal ideas were much influenced by the renewal movements carried out by Muhammad Abduh and Rashid Ridha in Egypt. Among the innovations carried out by Ahmad Surkati can be identified through three fields. First, in the field of education, he modernized Al-Irsyad's education in all aspects, both institutionally, educational goals, curriculum content, methods and approaches and libraries for schools. Second, the field of da'wah, he founded idārat al-haq, and carried out da'wah with three ways of preaching at once, namely bi al-hāl, bi al-lisān and bi al-qalam. Third, the socio-religious field, he socializes the notion of equality of degrees, cooperates with other organizations to improve the condition of the ummah, and provides solutions about religious issues raised by the community.
