Abstract

Preparing the dialysate temperature to the desiredlevel is a complicated task, since it has a large degree of time delayand nonlinear behaviour. In this work, embedded system fordialysate temperature controller was developed. It is based onimplementation of fuzzy logic controller software on STM32 F4development kit which consits of ARM Cortex M4Fmicrocontroller. The dialysate temperature was controlled byvarying the firing angle of the triac which is connected to theheater. The K-type thermocouple which is connected to AD595CQwas read and compared with the desire dialysate temperature. The fuzzification process was conducted prior to activate the fuzzyinference process. The power of the heater was adjusted based onthe output of the inference process until the desired watertemperatur was achieved. The system had been sucessfullydemonstrated for controlling the dialysate temperature.

Abstract

In this paper, the importance of odor localization isexplained. The researchers that investigated the experimentsand applications of odor localization using static sensors, mobilesensors (that were integrated in single robot, multi robot, andswarm robot) are described. However, there are some difficultiesfaced by the researchers in applying the mobile robots in the realsituation, such as: the speed of mobile robots are not as fast asthe odor patches transporting and the use of more than onesensor in mobile robot can make noises or errors. In the future, the plume finding in the uncertain environment and thechallenges mentioned above will be the authors’ consideration.

Abstract

very year, demanding of spare parts for vehicle isincreasing together to the number of cars, thus spare parts toreplacing faulty component also high demand. Every workshopneed to keep spare parts for replacing breakdown vehicle or someworkshop request spare parts to store it. Base on that, a good spareparts management and storage system is required for effective andfaster service to thecustomer. This paper discuss on the use ofRadio Freqeuncy Identification (RFID) for car engine storage andspare parts management system using RFID technology, because ofits advantages compare to others technology which is no line ofsight required and multiple reading. Every spare parts or enginetagging by an RFID tag which is programmed early with uniqueidentity, then store to a central database for stock and inventorysystem. Testing havebeen conducted an shows reduce on reading performance becauseof most spare parts and engine made from metal material thuseffected to RFID reading performance. A new technique used forRFID tag before tagging which is make some gap from the engineor spare parts to avoid RFID signal absorve by metal material. Theother way is used high gain antenna andRFID reader for faster and powerfull reading. Results showsimprovement on reading distance and performance compare to theprevious tagging technique and tagging placement.

Abstract

5G is speculated to transform the mobilecommunications landscape by increasing data rates, latency, coverage and energy efficiency. Radio-over-fiber (RoF) provides ahigh-capacity, efficient and scalable 5G architecture fortransporting radio signals through optical fibers, exploiting theenormous bandwidth of the optical fiber cables. In this paper, anew radio-over-fiber (RoF) architecture for future 5G networks isproposed using SCM-MDM for converging data streams fromdifferent picocells. Different sets of the Hermite-Gaussian (HG)modes are introduced for the SCM-MDM system in RoF. The effectof different sets of HG modes on the RoF system performance arecompared in terms of the transverse electric fields, eye diagrams, modal analyses and bit-error rates. A total throughput of 19.5 Gb/sis achieved

Abstract

Radio-over-free-space-optics (Ro-FSO) is a strongcontender for providing a ubiquitous platform for seamlessintegration of high capacity radio and optical networks withoutexpensive optical fiber cabling. This work presents mode divisionmultiplexing of LG and HG modes in a 40 GHz Ro-FSOtransmission system to realize 4 x 20Gbps over a free space opticallink under clear weather conditions. The signal-to-noise-ratio,received power and constellations will be analyzed.

Abstract

This paper reports on MDM of a combination ofhelical-phased modes comprising ring modes and HG modes.44Gbps data transmission is achieved by a wavelength divisionmultiplexing (WDM) - MDM system of two center-launchedhelical-phased ring modes and two 3μm radially offset HG modeon wavelengths 1550.12nm and 1551.72nm for a 1500m-longmultimode fiber. The power coupling coefficients, degeneratemode group delays and bit error rates are analyzed for differentHG modes and radial offsets.
