Abstract

Classifying odor in real experiment presents some challenges, especially the uncertainty of the odor concentration and dispersion that can lead to a difficulty in obtaining an accurate datasets. In this study, to enhance the accuracy, datasets arrangement based on MOS sensors parameters using SVM approach for odor classification is proposed. The sensors are tested to determine the sensors' time response, sensors' peak duration, sensors' sensitivity, and sensors' stability when applied to the various sources at different range. Three sources were used in experimental test, namely: ethanol, methanol, and acetone. The gas sensors characteristics are analyzed in open sampling method to see the sensors' performance in real situation. These performances are considered as the base of choosing the position in collecting the datasets. The sensors in dynamic experiment have average of precision of 93.8-97.0%, the accuracy 93.3-96.7%, and the recall 93.3-96.7%. This values indicates that the collected datasets can support the SVM in improving the intelligent sensing when conducting odor classification work.

Abstract

The performance of gas sensor will differ and vary due to the surrounding environment changing, the way of implementation, and the position of the sensors to the source. To reach a good result on gas sensors implementation, a performance test on sensors is needed. The results of the tests are useful for characterizing the properties of the particular material or device. This paper discusses the performances of metal oxides semiconductor (MOS) sensors. The sensors are tested to determine the sensors' time response, sensors' peak duration, sensors' sensitivity, and sensors' stability of the sensor when applied to the various sources at different range. Three sources were used in experimental test, namely: ethanol, methanol, and acetone. The gas sensors characteristics are analyzed in open sampling method in order to see the sensors' sensitivity to the uncertainty disturbances, such as wind. The result shows that metal oxides semiconductor sensor was responsive to the 3 sources not only in static but also dynamic conditions. The expected outcome of this study is to predict the MOS sensors' performance when they are applied in robotic implementation. This performance was considered as the training datasets of the sensor for odor classification in this research. From the experiments, It was got, in dynamic experiment, the senrors has average of precision of 93.8-97%, the accuracy 93.3-96.7%, and the recall 93.3-96.7%. This values indicates that the sensors were selective to the odor they sensed.

Abstract

Thermogravimetry analyzer adalah suatu alat untuk melakukan analisa thermal dimana massa bahan uji akan berbanding terbalik atau berbanding lurus dengan laju temperatur yang meningkat dan fungsi waktu (temperatur meningkat konstan). TGA biasanya digunakan untuk menentukan karakteristik material. Kurva naiknya massa material Aluminium dapat digunakan untuk mengetahui oksidasi. Titik naiknya massa material bisa digunakan untuk menghitung energi aktivasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan alat Thermogravimetry Analyzer (TGA) Exstar SII 7300 dengan 3 (tiga) sampel yang berbeda yaitu: Sampel Non Heat Treatment, Sampel Quenching, Sampel Annealing.  Hasil pengujian didapatkan bahwa energi aktivasi pada keadaan temperatur 400-6500C ramp 10 pada sampel non heat treatment E = 30,137 kJ/mol. Pada quenching E = 23,537 kJ/mol. Pada annealing E = 28,373 kJ/mol.

Abstract

Smelting aluminum scrap in a small capacity can be done on a simple furnace crucible. As fuel furnaces used type of semi-anthracite coal briquettes, bituminous and sub-bituminous from Tanjung Enim which has been through the washing process by agglomeration method using water-oil palm. Calorific value, the contents of water and hydrogen calculated in the energy balance. Aluminum scrap smelted at a temperature 1023oK. Furnace by coal briquette which has a 23.38% efficiency,, crucible can melt 50 kg of aluminum scrap by 6.47 kg of briquettes for 1 hour 46 minutes.Keywords:coal briquette, coal aglomeration, aluminum scrap, crusible furnace

Abstract

In this reseach, a PSO method is impelemented in searching a gas leakage. A swarm robot consisted of 3 agents, yelow, blue, and green, was used. The research was done in 2 type of experiments, i.e. in simulation and real expeiment. A Matlab is used as a simulation validation while for the real experiment, a 2 x 2 m arena is used. From the experiment, it can be concluded that a good performance of a swam can be achieved using PSO method.

Abstract

This paper summarizes the research performed in the field of swarm intelligent in recent years. The classification of swarm intelligence based on behavior is introduced. The principles of each behaviors, i.e. foraging, aggregating, gathering, preying, echolocation, growth, mating, clustering, climbing, brooding, herding, and jumping are described. 3 algorithms commonly used in swarm intelligent are discussed. At the end of summary, the applications of the SI algorithms are presented.

Abstract

Abstrak : ADVENTURE (ADVanced ENgineering analysis Tools for Ulra large Real world) adalah proyekambisius Jepang yang menggunakan "komputer tercepat di dunia 30-100 TFLOPS pada tahun2002", tapi juga digunakan untuk analisis GeoFEM yang dirancang untuk beroperasi dalamlingkungan komputasi virtual yang sama (Earth Simulator). Beberapa teknologi yang digunakandalam system ini meliputi arsitektur berbasis modul, standarisasi format dan library, pemodelanyang efisien, visualisasi 3-d untuk model 10-100.000.000 derajat kebebasan (DOF) dan dapatdiapaki dalam berbagai lingkungan computer parallel. Salah satu permasalahan yang dapatdiselesaikan dengan ADVENTURE System adalah analasis retakan seperti analsis J-Integralyang memiliki derajat kebebasan besar. Kami telah mengembangkan Post Program untukmenganalisis sembarang retakan yang memiliki derajat kebebasan besar, dalam program ini,perhitungan nilai J-Integral untuk program 3-D telah menunjukkan efektivitas denganmenghitung contoh retakan. Program ini menunjukkan distribusi tegangan pada bidang tegaklurus ke arah retak yang sulit untuk mendapatkan nilai J-Integralnya. Setelah itu kita dapatmenghitung J-integral Path pada permukaan. Hal penting dalam program post-processingadalah bagaimana cara mengevaluasi J-integral dan dapat menunjukkan distribusi teganganpada bidang yang tegak lurus terhadap retak. Kami telah membuat beberapa fungsi untukmengevaluasi nilai tersebut, seperti distribusi tegangan, untuk mendapatkan J-Integral Pathdengan menggunakan metode pemotongan, dimana hal ini tidak tergantung pada bentuk danletak mesh tersebut. One of the problems that can be solved with theADVENTURE System is an analysis of cracks as the analysis J-Integral which has a largedegree of freedom. We have developed Post Program to analyze any cracks that have a largedegree of freedom, in this program, the calculation of the value of the J-Integral for 3-D programhas demonstrated effectiveness by counting the cracks examples. This program shows thestress distribution in the plane perpendicular to the direction of the crack is difficult to obtain Jintegralvalue. After that we can calculate the J-integral Path on the surface. It is important inthe post-processing program is how to evaluate the J-integral and can indicate stressdistribution in the plane perpendicular to the crack. We have made some functions to evaluatethese values, such as stress distribution, to obtain J-Integral Path using the cutting method,where it is not dependent on the shape and location of the mesh. By using this function, Jintegralevaluation can be easily performed and the obtained results are compared with othermethods, and good results are obtained.Keywords: Adventure System, J-Integral, degrees of freedom, cracks

Abstract

Sebagai salah satu bagian dari tungku peleburan, krusibel mempunyai peran yang penting. Krusibel pada sebuah tungku peleburan berfungsi sebagai wadah material yang akan dilebur. Material krusibel harus memiliki nilai titik lebur yang lebih tingggi dari pada alumunium. Kerusakan pada krusibel sering kali terjadi pada saat peleburan berlangsung, hal ini disebabkan temperatur pembakaran yang melebihi titik lebur dari material krusibel. Kerusakan yang sering terjadi pada krusibel tungku peleburan menyebabkan perlunya simulasi distribusi temperatur untuk menentukan material yang tepat digunakan pada krusibel. Simulasi ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak Autodesk Mechanical Simulation 2016. Data-data yang diperlukan untuk melakukan simulasi ini adalah dimensi tungku peleburan, sifat mekanik material, dan data proses peleburan. Simulasi dimulai pertama kali dengan membuat model tungku peleburan alumunium. Data yang diinput pada perangkat lunak Autodesk Mechanical Simulation adalah data material pada tungku, serta data temperatur saat peleburan. Hasil dari simulasi ini adalah berupa grafik distribusi temperatur.

Abstract

In this paper, the importance of odor localization isexplained. The researchers that investigated the experimentsand applications of odor localization using static sensors, mobilesensors (that were integrated in single robot, multi robot, andswarm robot) are described. However, there are some difficultiesfaced by the researchers in applying the mobile robots in the realsituation, such as: the speed of mobile robots are not as fast asthe odor patches transporting and the use of more than onesensor in mobile robot can make noises or errors. In the future,the plume finding in the uncertain environment and thechallenges mentioned above will be the authors’ consideration.

Abstract

This paper discusses a design of fuzzy logic algorithm in a robot.   This algorithm is useful for the robot in seeking and reaching the target.  The robot is also accomplished with an ability to avoid obstacles. Although the fuzzy rule that is embedded to the robot is very simple, it gives a good result in target seeking and obstacles avoiding task.   The originality of this research is an approach to the rules that can simplify the task by creating faster track for the robot in uncertain environment.
