In some trotoirs the accidents had been happened. Therefore, it is suggested that the trotoir must be constructed flatly, continued, not too height, synchronized with drainage system, street construction, electricity and telephone net work, andtree plantation for the green peace program.

The results found are as the followings: a) the temporary building for religious ceremony is made based on the anthropometrics measurements of the user, such as upper reach, side reach, knee height, buttock height, shoulder height and should width; b) the forms and sizes of offerings are adjusted according to the place provided; c) the container for an offering has been improved from time to time for efficiency and made of locally produced raw materials; d) the size of offering container is made based on the hand sizes such as grip, width of the hand and counted in traditional unit; e) the interior design, for room or temple building is made fit for it?s appropriate function. Therefore, it is concluded that in doing their daily live activities related to religious ceremony, ergonomics principles are applied. Comfortability, easy to use, and feeling of satisfaction are the criteria in using any kind of tools for Balinese. While if using tractor or cultivator the right or left side and thecorner of the rice field can’t be cultivate. Deep of rice filed soil become shallow so thefertility of soil reduced. Beside that using tractor or cultivator for land preparation needmore fuel. The plough were easy to carry out, but tractor and cultivator difficult to carryout because the weight more that 200 kg.

Abstract

Fraction of hexane extract contains glycosides and triterpenoids, which isassumed to have an anti fertility ingredient, so it can be used as a male contraceptive, although the mechanism of action is not yet clear. This study used the pre-test and post-test control group design, using 30 malemice of balb C strain, aged 12 weeks, weight 20-22 gram, subsequently grouped byrandom into 3 groups each consisting of 10 male mice. One control group (P0 = controlgroup) was given double distilled water, and two treatment groups (P1 = treatment group)was given fraction of the hexane extract of young Carica papaya seed 20 mg/20gram/day,P2 = treatment group) was given fraction of the methanol extract of young Carica papayaseed 20 mg/20 gram/day). After 36 days of treatment, evaluation of the testis and blood,of the male mice was conducted.Data were analysed by normality test of Kolmogorov Smirnov Goodness of Fit,homogeneity test, and Anova test. This study showed that cells of spermatogonia A,primary pakhiten spermatocyte, spermatid, and Sertoli cells, decreased significantly (p <0,05) but Leydig cells and testosterone were not decreased significantly (p > 0,05).It is concluded that fraction of hexane extract of carica papaya seeds can decreasethe mean number of cells spermatogonia A, spermatocyte of primary pakhiten, spermatid,Sertoli, and Leydig cells and the level of testosterone hormone better than fraction ofmethanol extract of young Carica papaya seeds.

Abstract

The use of mill and hand press machines had been increased the productivity ofroof tile home industry at Pejaten Village Tabanan Regency. But the increased ofproductivity followed by increased of working accidents. Many effort had been done toreduced the accident such as equipped the mill machine with machine’s cover, footprotective devices, and training to the new employees; but, the accident still happen.Although the incident of accident was lower but the disability was severed such as loss ofhand, loss oh finger, or other physical defects of the body part. Such physical defectscaused a serious effect on worker’s daily lives and social activities. To find out the unsafeacts as the risk factors of accident, a retrospective study was done using interview and onthe spot observation to the milling process. The results are found: there are three riskfactors contributed to the accidents, namely: the human factor, the tools and theenvironment. The human factor contributed highest one for the accident. From humanfactors it was found that there are many unsafe acts, such as: careless, going up to theupper inlet of mill to push mixing raw material with foot or hand, moving the millwithout turn off the machine, cleaning the mill without turn off the mill, taking out thestone which trapped the rollers using hand, operating the machine without guarding, working with tired condition, working without knowing the operation procedure, withouttraining, improver lighting, working without personal protective devices, etc. The highestincidents come from pushing the raw materials on inlet of mill in order to speed-up themilling process. To solve the problems some actions must be done such as providing themill with the appropriate equipments; by doing so, the operator can push the materialsafely to speed-up the mill process, turn off the machine before cleaning, appropriatetraining before operating of mill, using the personal protective devices, and doing goodhouse keeping and inspection, regularly.

Abstract

Safety and health are the basic rights of the workers and one of the requirement to increased theworker’s productivity. Beside that safety and health constitute requirement for winning freecompetition in the globalization and Asean Free Trade Agreement (AFTA), World TradeOrganization (WTO) and Asia Pacific Economic Community (APEC). So that to followed freetrade competition, safety and health program must be implemented in all working places. Theergonomics, not only increased the healthy and safety of the workers, but also increased theproductivity. If the ergonomics safety and health can be implemented in the enterprises the safetyand health and productivity of the workers will be increased. Although the implementation of theergonomics safety and health principle in the enterprises had been applied and improved thehealthy, safety and productivity of the workers but the implementation in the enterprisesespecially in the small and medium enterprises are still far from expectation. To find out thecauses the observation study had been done during implementation of the ergonomics, safety andhealth program in small and mdium eneterprises in Bali since 1995. There are many obstacleswere found such as: 1) the result of the ergonomics, safety and health implementation still inform of healthy, safety, comfort, efisien and the increases of productivity, but not yet showed inform of money (industrial language); 2) enterprises management took the lower priority to theergonomics, safety and health program in operation of the enterprises; 3) the program of theergonomics safety and health dominan in form of curative action compared with preventive andpromotive; 4) other factors such as less of management and workers knowledge about safety andhealth, limited of capital, less of control and low enforcement of the government. So that theimplementation of the ergonomics safety and health program should be attained the benefit inform of money not only to the workers but also to the enterprises. Control and low enforcementof the governement should be tightening and continued.
