Abstract

Tingkeban is a customary tradition of the community in Java for generations which indirectly can increase the confidence of a mother and father candidate to keep praying to be blessed with a sholehih baby branch and sholihah, that is with some ritual behavior done by society, basically is praying to get closer to Allah SWT. The purpose of this research is to see the communication of tingkeban neloni and mitoni rituals that occur in the community In Sumbersuko district Gempol Pasuruan regency. In this study the authors use qualitative methods of study of communication ethnography, because this method can describe, explain, and build relationships of categories and data found. This is in line with the objectives of the study of communication ethnography, to describe, analyze, and explain the communication behavior of one social group. The subject of the research is the seven monthly event consisting of three people and two people who understand and understand the meaning of the seven monthly event. Subject chosen by purposive sampling. The results of the research findings that seven-monthly ritual communication is a ritual activity performed at home or at home from parents of fathers or mothers, and attended by neighboring relatives and village communities Sumbersuko. Communicative events in seven-monthly rituals, topics, functions and objectives, settings, participants, message forms, message content, sequence of actions, interaction rules and norms, Whereas in communicative activities such as who knows and comprehends the implementation of seven monthly events is the host in seven monthly (tingkeban).

Abstract

The media has a major influence on the dissemination of information and the formation of public opinion on issues emerging in society. Even the continued problems of certain issues in society may be the impact of the magnitude of media influence itself. Media framing in packing news leads people to certain trends in attitude. The incessant media coverage of the criminalization of teachers violating the Child Protection Act (UU) No.23 of 2002 even triggered more similar cases in other places. Communities may be inspired to report to teachers even if the teacher’s actions do not include child abuse and are merely educational measures. Another impact is the deterioration of teachers’ authority and the decrease in school credibility. An intense media coverage of an issue must be balanced with good media literacy. Currently, there has been a lot of media literacy movements, but still few use film as a medium for media literacy, whereas film is a very effective medium for expressing messages and influencing others as Quick and La Bau (1972: 11) say. The Candle film is the work of UNIDA Gontor Communication Studies students created with the goal of providing media literacy to the public. There were significant results in the change of mindset and attitude  of the students, teachers and guardians as the target of media literacy by using The Candle film.

Abstract

The development of technology give a big change to the interpersonal communty as face to face. Long time ago, people who are in crouded places will communicate with each other around them, but now in the crouded places we can see many people with their gadget and seems to ignore each other with the people around them. The use of gadget when people meet each other give a big influence and a different feel of comunity. The phenomena of communication awareness will be analyzes using the descriptive qualitative method and using the interpersonal comunication theory and awareness. The result of this research which was conducted that the interpersonal comunication face to face which was done simultaneously and using gadget do not have an effectiveness in communication, the main idea of the communication will not be able to reach. The communication which was made simultaneously is one of the low awareness because of the automatical processes in human body.

Abstract

Radio Geronimo FM is one of the long standing radio in Yogyakarta city. As a long-standing radio, Geronimo FM Jogja radio is required to keep the audience with a tight competition along with the emergence of new radio. One of the strategies undertaken by Radio Geronimo FM Jogja in keeping the audience is by conducting broadcasting management. This study examines the implementation of radio broadcasting management Geronimo FM Jogja in keeping the audience. The method used is descriptive qualitative observed phenomena experienced by research subjects. This study uses qualitative research methods, which became the object of his research is Koskosan Gayam comedy program in Geronimo FM Yogyakarta. Data collection technique is done by interview, pre-production observation, production, and post-production of Radio Geronimo FM Jogja. The research subjects are Radio Programs Producer division Geronimo FM Jogja and Koskosan Gayam figures. Based on the results of this study is to show that there is a creative strategy Kosam Kosan Gayam which has been applied since the beginning of this event stand by lifting the existing phenomenon in boarding house with cultural diversity in it that is packed with comedy

Abstract

Talkshow: Mario Teguh Golden Ways, yang ditayangan di metro tv memanglah menarik. Tiap episodenya selalu menyajikan kalimat indah pada hubungan antara laki-laki dan perempuan.Baik percintaan maupun keluarga, bagaimana seharusnya laki-laki memerlakukan perempuan dan sebaliknya. Melalui permainan katanya, Mario Teguh mendefinisikan bagaimana sikap, peran, serta tanggung jawab laki-laki dan perempuan. Metode yang dipakai adalah reception analysis. Namun sadarkah bahwa pada episode Mario Teguh Golden Ways yang berjudul “ Tulang Rusuk bukan tulang Punggung” sesungguhnya menyajikan konstruksi peran perempuan yang haruslah berfokus pada ranah domestic bukan ranah publik. Audiens merupakan khalayak aktif, khalayak sebagai orang yang aktif untuk selalu mempersepsi pesan dan memproduksi makna. Di saat ini, media memang selalu menampilkan konstruksi yang dibuat seolah dengan realitas kehidupan audiens, namun audiens yang merupakan seseorang yang aktif untuk memberikan pemaknaan terhadap tayangan media yang ia tonton. Melalui metode receptions analysis peneliti ingin melihat bagaimanakah pemaknaan suami istri mengenai perempuan bekerja dalam talkshow Mario Teguh Golden Ways Hasil dari penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa informan terbagi dalam negotiated, dominant and opposite dalam memaknai perempuan dalam talkshow Mario Teguh

Abstract

This study aims to determine the interpersonal communication of husband and wife in preventing divorce. The location of research in Ponorogo Regency with the subject of research five couples who have been divorced by Ponorogo Religious Court. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. The results showed that interpersonal communication husband and wife less well awakened due to disharmony interpersonal relationships in the family. Factors that lead to disharmony interpersonal relationships in the family is the attitude of disbelief between husband and wife caused by lack of honesty and mutual attitude of each partner in the family causing interpersonal conflict and lead to divorce. This study provides recommendations to the community, especially couples to build good interpersonal communication in the family by always putting honest and open attitude so that any problems that arise in the family can be resolved properly.
