Abstract

Small area is an area with insufficient sample for direct estimation. Limited survey objects, cause direct estimation can not produce better parameter estimates. Based on this, an indirect estimation method called empirical Bayes is used to obtain a better estimate. This study will compare means squared error by  direct estimation method and empirical Bayes method to find a better method on a small area. Jackknife is used to get the means squared error in the empirical Bayes. The results is, empirical Bayes methods give a better parameters based on mean squared errors. Empirical Bayes can produce a smaller mean squared error more than direct estimation in small area.

Abstract

Investing among investors is an exciting activity to gain profit in the financial world. The development of investment in the financial world affects the number of alternative investment instruments that can be offered to investors in the capital market. The management of instruments in finance depends on the accuracy of forecasting of variables for example volatility. Volatility is a statistic of the degree of price variation in one period to the next which is expressed by ?. Volatility values can be estimated using Implied Volatility. Implied Volatility is the volatility used in determining the price of European options obtained by equalizing the price of the theoretical options, the price obtained from the Black-Scholes model, with the option price in the market. In this research will discuss how to estimate Implied Volatility value using the option obtained from simulation with Monte Carlo.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to obtain statistics models which explain the relationship between variables that influence the poverty indicators in Indonesia using multivariate spline nonparametric regression method. Spline is a nonparametric regression estimation method that is automatically search for its estimation wherever the data pattern move and thus resulting in model which fitted the data. This study, uses data from survey of Social Economy National (Susenas) and survey of Employment National (Sakernas) of 2013 from the publication of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). This study yields two models which are the best model from two used response variables. The criterion uses to select the best model is the minimum Generalized Cross Validation (GCV). The best spline model obtained is cubic spline model with five optimal knots.

Abstract

Model APARCH is one of the asymmetric GARCH models. These models are able to capture the incidence of good news and bad news in the volatility. The APARCH model has an asymmetric coefficient to cope with leverage effect by modeling a leverage that has heteroscedasticity and asymmetric effect condition. The results of this research were obtained by the appropriate APARCH model. The model is the APARCH(1,2) model because all parameters are significant. Thus, proceeds from the volatility of stock return for the next 14 days with the model volatility APARCH(1,2) increased from period one to period fourteen.

Abstract

The professional of health said smoking is dangerous behavior, because it can make a kind of disease. Although all the people be aware about a dangerous of smoking behavior, but a count of smoker in Indonesian  increase inclined .The purpose of this research was to see the influence of age, the parent level of education, the parent is smoker or no, communication with father, communication with mother, activity with friends, access to media information and intencity to observe advertisement of cigarette to the knowledge level of adolescents about smoking behavior. The method of analysis used in this study is Ordinal Logistic Regression method. Ordinal logistic regression is a statistical method to analyze the response variable (dependent) which has an ordinal scale. The setting of this research that is in SMPN 10 Denpasar, SMP Santo Yoseph Denpasar, SMAN 6 Denpasar  dan SMAK Santo Yoseph Denpasar. That take a sample 144 respondent, 81 respondent is a boys and 63 respondent is a girls. The results showed that the independent variables that significantly affected the knowledge level of adolescents about smoking behavior is age, the parent level of education, the parent is smoker or no, communication with father, activity with friends and intencity to observe advertisement of cigarette with the value of Pseudo R2= 0.599.

Abstract

Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the world based on World Health Organization (WHO) survey in 2015. It took DNA microarray technology to analyze and diagnose cancer. DNA microarray has large dimensions so it influences the process of cancer ‘s classification. GA and PCA are used as reduction method and MBP Powell Beale as classification method. The testing of MBP classification without dimension reduction results 70, 59% ? 100% accuracy. MBP+PCA results 76, 47% ? 100% accuracy. MBP + GA results 76, 47% ? 92, 31% accuracy.

Abstract

Latent variables are variables that can not be observed directly. Latent variables can be observed with constituent indicators. One of the methods used to analyze the latent variables are Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). This research raised the case of impulse buying to be applied to the SEM method. Impulse buying influenced by the characteristics of the hypermarket, situational factors, the characteristics of the product, promotion and positive emotions. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect dari positive emotions as mediation to impulse buying. The results obtained indicate that positive emotions directly affect the impulse buying of 0.302, promotion directly affects the positive emotions of 0.367, and the promotion of indirect effect to impulse buying of 0.111. So positive emotions can mediate to impulse buying of 0.020. Goodness of fit mediation models not good with value 0.39.

Abstract

Life insurance with surrender value is a type of insurance that allows the insured to cancel the contract. Unit-link life insurance is a combination of life insurance and investment. Profit testing method is used to find out the potensial loss or gain of unit link life insurance product. The aim of this research was to determine the potential benefits or losses of unit-linked life insurance product using a deterministic model. Results of this research are the profit obtained by the insurance company for an insurance participant aged 35 years with a sum and in annual premiums are

Abstract

The metric dimension of connected graph G is the cardinality of minimum resolving set in graph G. In this research, we study how to find the metric dimension of lobster graph Ln (q;r). Lobster graph Ln (q;r) is a regular lobster graph with vertices backbone on the main path, every backbone vertex is connected to q hand vertices and every hand vertex is connected to r finger vertices, with n, q, r element of N. We obtain the metric dimension of lobster graph L2 (1;1) is 1, the metric dimension of lobster graph L2 (1;1) for n > 2 is 2.

Abstract

Completion of a metric space has been investigated and proved its existence and uniqueness. While a complex valued metric space is considered as a generalization of a metric space, we study the completion properties of complex valued metric spaces. Using redefined definitions of isometry and denseness in complex valued metric spaces which correspond to the definitions in metric spaces, we prove the existence and uniqueness of completion of a complex valued metric space.
