Abstract

Barrier option is an option where the payoff price depends on whether or not the stock price passes the barrier during its life time. The aim of the research is to compare the convergence between conditional Monte Carlo and antithetic variate methods in determining the call barrier option price. The call barrier option price is influenced by several factors: initial stock price, stock volatility, risk-free interest rate, maturity, strike price and barrier. The calculation of call barrier option price is obtained by simulating stock price movements with different simulation number. Based on the simulation result, it is obtained that the calculation of call barrier option price with conditional Monte Carlo method converge faster than the antithetic variate method.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to model and forecast the number of tourist arrivals to Bali using transfer function model based on exchange rate USD to IDR from January 2009 to December 2015. Transfer function model is a multivariate time series model which can be used to identify the effect of the exchange rate to the number of tourist arrivals to Bali. The first stage in transfer function modeling is identification of ARIMA model in exchange rate USD to IDR variable. The best ARIMA model is chosen based on the smallest Akaike information criterion (AIC). The next stage are as follows identification of transfer function model, estimation of transfer function model, and diagnostic checking for transfer function model. The estimated transfer function model suggests that the number of tourist arrivals to Bali is affected by the exchange rate of the previous eight months. The mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) is equal of the forecasting model to 9,62%.

Abstract

Project is any work that has a beginning and ending, consisting of several jobs/activities that must be carried out in a certain order. Contractors typically use the Gantt Chart Method in scheduling home construction projects so that it is difficult to know the impact caused by the late completion of work on scheduling the entire project. The purpose of this study is to determine the time needed to complete two housing units using the Precedence Diagram Method and the Line of Balance Method. The data used in this research are the dependency relationship between activities, time schedule, cost analysis plan (RAB), and SNI unit price analysis. The analysis process carried out in this study is to calculate the time needed to complete two housing units using two methods, namely the Precedence Diagram Method and the Line of Balance method. The results of this study indicate the time needed to build two housing units using the Precedence Diagram Method 7 days faster than using the Line of Balance Method.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze mathematically Bungan Sandat songs and arrange the elements in terms of the Fibonacci sequence and Golden Ratio. Then the ratio of the beauty of the song before and after arrangements were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test with 16 respondents from the student audience ISI Denpasar. Adjustment arrangements were made ??and given the title Bungan Sandat Fibo because it has proved to be a perfect Fibonacci sequence and Golden Ratio. Bungan Sandat Fibo song has the Fibonacci sequence contain up to 100% and the Golden Ratio is more perfect than the song before experienced arranger. In addition, based on the value of statistical tests, proven track Bungan Sandat Fibo more beautiful than Bungan Sandat song.

Abstract

McDonald’s is one of fast food company that is growing rapidly. McDonald’s continues to innovate to satisfy customers. It introduced the concept of a cafe with the name McCafe. Because of the competition with other fast food restaurants, McDonald’s needs to improve the quality of McCafe favored by customers. Thus, this research was conducted to aim at getting the indicators that are best describing customers characteristic. This research used discriminant analysis methods. Discriminant analysis was used to classify customers into groups of loyal customers or non loyal customers.. The indicators that distinguished the decision of the customer to buy McCafe Jimbaran product were affordable prices and locations that are easily accessible to customers. The formed discriminant function had an accuracy of 91,67 percent in classifying the customers.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine factors that influence consumer’s decisions to choose a brand of mobile phone and to determine the dominant factor influencing consumer’s decision in choosing brand of mobile phone. The method used is factor analysis. Factor analysis is one part of the analysis of several variables that are used to reduce the data, which is a process to summarize a number of independent variables associated with the factors named mapped or grouped into a new variable. The results showed that there are seven factors that influence consumers to choose the brand of mobile phone: the quality factor, brand, features, product durability, shape or model, price, and warranty. While among the seven factors, the quality factor is a dominant factors that affect consumers to choose brand of mobile phone.

Abstract

The Separable programming method solves nonlinear programming problems by transforming a nonlinear shape that consists of a single variable into a linear function and resolved by the simplex method. Meanwhile, the quadratic programming method accomplishes the two degrees nonlinear model by transforming the nonlinear shape into linear function with the Kuhn Tucker Conditions and resolved by the simplex Wolfe method. Both of these methods are applied to the Markowitz’s portfolio model, which is to find the proportion of stock funds to obtain maximum profits by combination of three shares, such as BMRI, GGRM, and ICBP. The completion using the quadratic programming method is more effective and efficient with the same optimum value.

Abstract

Poverty still a complex problems for both at national and regional level, so it requires an appropriate and sustainable strategy mitigation. Every household in the different regions has different characteristics and influenced factors, so it requires the identification of the factors that influence poverty by paying attention to the influence of the area using the Spatial Durbin Model (SDM). The purpose of SDM modeling is to determine the spatial dependency relationship which occur not only in the dependent variables, but also on the independent variables. The result shows that the significant lagged dependent variable is indicated by the parameter Lag significant independent variables are independent variables with a significant weighting, but there are no independent variables that are significant with the weighting.

Abstract

Tuberculosis is a contagious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Based on data from the health office of Bali Province, in 2015 tuberculosis cases found 0,96%, while in 2016 tuberculosis cases increase to 1,05%. This research used truncated spline nonparametric regression to model tuberculosis cases in Bali Province in 2016. This method was used because truncated spline has high flexibility compared to other polynomial models. The truncated spline function has a connecting point called knots. The best estimation of truncated spline regression model is obtained from optimal knot point selection by calculating minimum generalized cross validation. The estimated truncated model is linear with one knot point with determination coefficient equals to 70,48 %. In addition, it is also found in order to reduce tuberculosis cases the government of Bali Province should increase percentage of family who lives clean and healthy.

Abstract

One of multivariate analysis application was used to see the relationship between two or more quantitative variable and objects within. Multivariate analysis which used in this case is correspondence analysis. This paper will be done correspondence analysis application in order to see the characteristic of tourism business in Bali. In this study it can be seen the characteristic of tourism business in Bali in a form of illustration of tourism business situation of each regencies which mapped in two dimensional plots. The result was Karangasem, Buleleng, Gianyar, Jembrana, Tabanan, and Klungkung were in a group because they have the same development of tourism area business and accommodation service business. However tourism business that was developed in Denpasar and Badung was tour and travel and food and beverage business.
