Journal DaFIna : Journal Deutsch als Fremdsprache in Indonesien is an electronic journal managed by the Department of German Literature at the State University of Malang which contains articles in both Indonesian and foreign languages. Articles contained in the form of analysis, study, application of theory, results of research, and discussion of literature with the following scope: 1) DaF (Deutsch als Fremdsprache) / learning German as a foreign language, especially in Indonesia, but does not rule out the possibility of themes same from other countries; 2) Germanistic / Deutsche Linguistics / linguistics in German and its teaching; 3) Deutsche Literatur / German literature and its teaching; 4) Übersetzung / German translation and teaching; and 5) related themes, for example a) Tourism / tourism management for German-speaking foreign tourists and their teaching and b) Deutschkurs / management of German language courses and teaching.

Abstract

The purpose of this research and development is to develop “Lass uns spielen” media which supports German learning process in class X language program of senior high school. The development of “Lass uns spielen” media has been adaptsed from Plomp development media and has been modified into 4 steps : (1) preliminary investigation, (2)design, (3) realization or construction, and (4) test, evaluation and revision. In this research, the instrument used to collect data are questionnaires and observation sheets. The quistionnaires ist fulfilled by validator in order to get the data and the result of the experimental observation is analyzed qualitatively descriptively. Based on the results of the questionnaire and the observation, it indicates that the media “Lass uns spielen” is appropriate to be used as media to support German learning in class X language program of senior high school.

Abstract

This article is an evaluation study that aims to evaluate curriculum documents by describing learning outcome’s (LO) suitability contained in the curriculum 2016 of German Department with LO contained in Indonesia National Qualification Framework (INQF), National Standard of Higher Education (NSHE) and ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA). The results showed that formulation of learning outcomes in the curriculum document of German Department especially on the components of attitudes and values, mastery of knowledge, general and special skills has been adjusted to the general description and description of the level of qualification 6 in Indonesia National Qualification Frameworkand general attitude and skill formulation in NSHE. Based on the review in terms of the document, the curriculum of German Department has been accordance with INQF and NSHE, but it is still not suitable especially in the criteria Programme Structure and Content.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the learning process by using “Melanjutkan Cerita” technique and to know the response of German Literature students in the Universitas Negeri Malang on this learning technique. The learning technique of “Melanjutkan Cerita” is one of language learning techniques that can be used to train speaking skill as well as to re-activate students’ understanding about grammatical theory that have been learned. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive with verbal data. The subjects of this research are 24 students from offering A of German Literature Department in the Universitas Negeri Malang, academic year of 2015 and 2016. Data collection is conducted by observation and questionnaire with the instruments of observation and questionnaire sheets. The results show that the implementation of “Melanjutkan Cerita” technique in Konversation II course running well. The respondents also stated that this learning technique can help them to improve their German speaking skill.

Abstract

This study attempts to described understanding students in learning lecture evaluation of teaching language germany with using a technique visualize. Methods used in research is descriptive quantitative method. An instrument used the video visualize, material exercise, questionnaires and documents. Material test competence language productive, receptive and literature presented in the form of video .The contents of material displayed with a variation of color, size of letters, a picture, illustrations and audio. The result of research is third of the material well understood by students because display visualizations served interesting and clear, The preparation of a groove material well furnished by example and training make the material into more easily understood.

Abstract

This research is aimed to develope a test instrument based on curriculum 2013 with Alltagsleben theme for XIth Language class program in second semester. The development strategy in this research is strategy by Cennamo and Kalk. The developed test is a test to assess the reading comprehension, grammar and vocabulary ability of the students. There are some kinds of texts in the test that have different word amount. The short texts consist of 20 until 47 words and the students need 30 until 45 seconds to understand each text. Besides, the moderate texts consist of 57 until 82 words. The students need a minute to understand each text. The long texts consist of 114 until 126 words. The students need two minutes to understand each text. After the test has been developed, the test and items quality have been reviewed by experts  and a trial has been held to check the readability, item difficulty, item discrimination, distractors‘ function and reliability of the test. The result is a test that has 54 items with good quality, 0,71  coefficient of validity and 0,863 coefficient of reliability.

Abstract

This research and development aimed to develop Role-Playing Games (RPG) “in meinem Traum” which used as learning media of reading skill for eleventh grade students of senior high school. This research and development used the Richey’s, Klein’s, and Nelson’s development model type 1. The procedures are Analysis Phase, Design Phase, Development Phase, and A Try Out and Evaluation Phase. Based on the result of the analysis in the open questionnaire which had been filled by material and media experts, as well as the result of the analysis in the observation of the trial, it can be concluded that the RPG media “in meinem Traum” can be used as a learning media in reading skill for students of eleventh grade of senior high school.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa Jurusan Sastra Jerman Universitas Negeri Malang dalam menganalisis kalimat bahasa Jerman berdasarkan tata bahasa DUDEN dan mengidentifikasi faktor yang menyebabkan mahasiswa melakukan kesalahan tersebut. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Sumber data pada penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Jurusan Sastra Jerman Universitas Negeri Malang Angkatan 2015 dengan jumlah 54 mahasiswa. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah kesalahan yang dihasilkan dari proses analisis kalimat bahasa Jerman oleh mahasiswa berdasarkan tata bahasa DUDEN dan hasil wawancara. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) mahasiswa masih melakukan kesalahan dalam menganalisis kalimat bahasa Jerman berdasarkan tata bahasa DUDEN, dengan bentuk kesalahan yaitu menganalisis bagian - bagian dari kalimat atau Wortstellung tidak sesuai dengan syarat atau ketentuan yang ada dalam kalimat bahasa Jerman yang sedang dianalisis, (2) faktor yang menyebabkan kesalahan tersebut adalah kurangnya pemahaman akan konsep dan materi, lupa terhadap materi yang telah disampaikan, kurang memahami maksud dan arti dari kalimat bahasa Jerman yang sedang dianalisis dan baru dikenali, kurangnya berlatih untuk menganalisis kalimat berdasarkan tata bahasa DUDEN, dan tidak hafal urutan Wortstellung yang benar.
