Abstract

This study to determine the effect of substitution and addition pollard duck mix in the commercial ration, the weight cut and the external offal of ducks Bali age of ten weeks. Ducks fed 100% commercial as treatment A (control), ducks fed commercial pollard 85% + 15% + 0.3% duck mix as treatment B, ducks fed a commercial 70% + 30% + pollard "Duck Mix "0.3% as treatment C, and the ducks are fed a commercial 55% + 45% + pollard" Duck Mix '0.3% as treatment D. The results weight cut duck who gives 100% commercial ration as control 1558.60 tail, whereas treatment B, C, D has a 2.09% cut weight, 5.09%, 5.08% was not significant (P> 0, 05) lower than the control. Heavy duck head on the perpetrator A 5.30%, while B 5.28% C 2.45% D 2.45%, 1.70% D unreal, lower than the control. Heavy neck duck on treatment A 8,, 09% while B 4.57%, C 10.26%, 0.37% D unreal, higher than the control. Heavy duck leg on treatment A 2.49%, 6.83%, while B, C 10.04% D 12.45% is not real, lower than the control. Treatment duck feather weight at a 6.71%, while 6.71% B, while B 0.60%, 7.30% and D is not significantly higher and 1.04% C handles not significant lower than the control. Based on the results of the study concluded that administration pollard 15%, 30% and 45% as a substitute as feed additives commercial with "Duck Mix" produce weight cut and the external offal Bali male ducks were not different from control. Abstract

The research, entitled "Perceptions of Farmers Own Role in Improving Knowledge and Extension Livestock Cattle Management" was held at the Cattle Group Sekar Sari, Pangsan Village, the District of Petang, Badung Regency, which runs from April 16, 2012 until June 24, 2012. Livestock group selected by purposive. This activity has 30 respondents. The purpose of this study was to determine the perception of farmers about the role of education in improving the knowledge and management of cattle in the cattle Sekar Sari and analyze the relationship between farmer perceptions of the role of education with the knowledge and management farmers cattle. There variables show the perception of farmers about the education role that analyzed statistically using the nonparametric Spearman Study Correlation Coefficient Test. The research showed that perceptions about the role of education farmers in improving the knowledge and management of cattle in the cattle Sekar Sari has a good category. Perception of farmers about the role of extension workers is positively associated with the level of knowledge is not real farmers, while the farmers perception about the real role of the counselor is positively associated with the management of cattle.

Abstract

The study is titled implementation of biosecurity on broiler farms in partnership Tabanan and Gianyar regency. The research was conducted in the village and the village of Tabanan district Selanbawak  and  Petak Kaja village of Gianyar district which lasted for three months from the month of February until April 2012. The study site selection using the "purposive", and the determination of respondents defined by the census method is a way of making the response and by taking all populations (Singarimbun and Effendi, 1989). Respondents of the study amounted to 49 farmers who are all broiler breeder two villages in both districts. This study aims to determine the level of implementation of biosecurity on broiler farms in partnership Tabanan and Gianyar.  The data used in this study is primary data obtained directly in the field and using secondary data is the result of the project the Australian Center for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) Ah/2006/169 on a cheap and effective biosecurity for broiler breeders in sector 3 Indonesia (commercial farms that implement biosecurity very simple). The measurement variables using scores from the data obtained. Data processing and analysis using descriptive statistics. Each of these respondents were grouped into five categories da were scored. This score is expressed in whole numbers 1,2,3,4, and 5 for each answer. The values ??are then grouped into 3 sections in accordance with the implementation of bio-security in Pre Entry, Point of Entry, and Post Entry is then the value in each group was summed and averaged and then analyzed using SPSS 16 with Independent Sample Test. These results indicate that the level of implementation of biosecurity on broiler farms in partnership Selanbawak Village Tabanan better at Pre Entry (P<0.05), than in the Village Petak Kaja Gianyar regency. While at Point of Entry and Post Entry at the both of District

Abstract

This research that entitled “Effort to Maintain Inside Organ Weigth of Landrace Cross-breed Pig by Using Oralit Fluid While Delayed Slaughter” was done in two places, in Pig Farm Company PT. PuriAgrindo Indah (PAI) that adressed in Tunjuk village, Tabanan and Traditional slaughter place that adressed in Jln. Buluh Indah Gang IV/ 8 Br. Kerta Sari, Denpasar. The method of this research was using random group design (RAK) factorial pattern, that consist of two factor: the first one is the factor of time to raise the pig in bangsung (L) from 0 day (L0), 1 day (L1), 2 days (L2) and 3 days (L3), the second one was the doses of salt and sugar fluid that was given (G) that consist of without the given of salt and sugar fluid (G0), (150 g sugar + 15 g salt) / 1 liter of drink water (G1) and (300 g sugar + 30 g salt) / 1 liter of drink water (G2). The variabel that was observed is the weight of inside organ (heart, spleen, lungs, pancreas and intestinum). The result of this research shows that there was significant effect (P<0,05) in the weight of intestinum from L and G factor, but it is not really have significant effect to other inside organ. The interaction between G and L factor did not affect to all observed variabel. The weight of intestinum that was produced at L0, L1, L2, L3 was showed 4,079; 3,941; 3,631; 3,687 kg each, and at G0, G1, G2 showed 3,682; 3,917; 3,968 kg each. Based on this research that can be concluded that the placement of pigs inside basung for 3 days before it slaughter and the giving of oralit fluid, decreased the weight of intestinum but not affect other organs, meanwhile the interaction between G and L factor was not affect all observed variabel either. Key words: pig, sugar-salt solution, slaughtering delays, and weight of organs in pigs

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of growth, carcass production and conversion ransum "cili duck" than bali duck, and to know the effect of commercial ransum and artificial ransum ??with the same nutrient composition of the growth rate, carcass production and conversion ratio "cili duck" age of 1 -9 weeks. The experiment was conducted in the village of Perean Tengah, Tabanan which lasted for 8 weeks. Research using completely randomized design (CRD) with three treatments and six replications. The three treatments were: "cili duck" with a commercial ransum CP 511 (A), "cili duck" with artificial ransum (B), and (control) bali duck with commercial ransum CP 511 (C). The results showed that the average final weight, weight gain, and carcass weights at treatment C significantly more lower (P <0,05) of treatment A and B. Mean final weight, weight gain, and carcass weights in treatment A was significantly higher (P <0,05) than treatment B. Average consumption ransum treatment C was not significantly different (P> 0,05) lower than treatment B but significantly different (P <0,05) lower than treatment A. The average consumption ransum treatments were not significantly different (P> 0,05) higher than treatment B. Average conversion ratio C treatment were significantly different (P <0,05) higher than that of treatment A and B. Mean treatment A conversion ratio was not significantly different (P> 0,05) lower than treatment B. Based on the research it can be concluded (1). "cili duck" (a hybrid of peking duck x bali duck ) has a level of growth and carcass production better than the bali duck, (2). Maintenance "cili duck" aged 1-9 weeks, rationing commercial CP 511 can generate the growth rate, higher carcass production and efficient use of ransum better than artificial rationing, (3). "cili duck" has a ransum efficiency better than the bali duck.
