Abstract

Adaptation is a process of adjustment with the climate change by reducing its risk level to human. Meanwhile, the stakeholder can be defined as people who have an interest in climate change, either the policy maker or the population. This research is aimed atidentifying the current climate change’s situation in Gunungkidul, Indonesia;assessing stakeholder perception regarding climate change, and capturing climate change adaptation in local level. The research was conducted qualitatively through FGD and workshop to take account of perception among stakeholders.Climate change’s situation in Gunungkidul was identified by the extremely fluctuating precipitationlevel in the last 10 years. On the basis ofrespondent’s testimony, we come to know that season can no longer bepredicted by their local wisdom calendar. The majority of them defined climate change as changing of season from dry to rainy season and vice versa. There were several forms of adaptation strategy taken by diverse people in Gunungkidul, considering their occupation. A farmer chose the crop that survives in dry condition (need less of water). On the other hand, an entrepreneur adaptated to climate change bycreating an everlasting business that remained unaffectedby seasonality or climate change. Meanwhile, a breeder acclimtized themselvesby preserving fodder like silage for their livestock. Lastly, government employees stated that they were left untouched by climate change. From this research, we come to a pointthat Gunungkidul is experiencing climate change’s impact in many sectors. Despite the fact that Gunungkidul citizens have a relatively low level of understanding about climate change, it can be seen that they have an adaptation strategy to climate change based on their local wisdom. Thus, in order to strengthen their adaptation capacity, we definitely require the support from the policy maker and local authority.

In this case, pemali (customary prohibition) along with the beliefand customs serving as the background is seen as an environmental wisdom. The conclusion in this paper confirms that the pemali mentioned above are still relevant andimportant to be understood and actualized in order to preserve the Subak Jatiluwih and tostrengthen various regulations having been enacted to protect and preserve the elements ofBalinese culture that need protecting and preserving. Abstract

This research was aimed to examine the perception of vegetable farmers on land conservation and investigating the impact of their perception and behavior toward land conservation on production. This research was conducted in Rejang Lebong District. On this research one hundred fifteen of respondents were selected as sample. Data collected by using stratified random sampling technique based on their land slope. Analytical descriptive method and double log models were used to analyze data which gathered from face to face interview guided by questionnaire. The result of the research showed that vegetable farmers had positive perception on land conservation. Their positive perception were reflected by their action in conserving their land, whether by bench terrace development or growing cover trees. The research also found that all variables included in the model had an expected sign, i.e., positive, except for cover trees growing and seed application that had negative sign. However, not all of these variables were different from zero. Only the cost of terrace development variable, fertilizer usage, land area, education, and farmer motivation to conserve their land had significant factors in influencing vegetable production, while farmers perception were not influenced.

Abstract

Active mud represent process processing of biology by aerobic by using system ofsuspended growth. Microorganism staying in form of suspended referred also solidsuspended liquor mixed ( SSLM), work by fastening organic substrate later thenelaborating it with enzyme of exocelluler so that become its dissolve. Process resolving ofcompounds of organic, microorganism get the source of and carbon of energy. Mudsuspended conducted by 1 g follow the example of Mud or sediment thinned withphysiological condensation ( 8,5 NaCl g / L) and dissolve up to 10-4 ,or can be conductedby taking 0,5 g of sediment into tube reaction of containing 4,5 physiological saltcondensation then shake to get homogeneous suspended. suspended and disseminated bycontaining solder cup on specific media, and then incubation at temperature 270C during24 - 48 hour. Obtained by isolate of RPH1,RPH2, PP, SBDG and STT. During process ofseeding measured parameters, there are VSS and COD that measured base on timeduring treatment. Its process was result RPH2 isolate that showing higher growth ofmicrobiologist activity then another. Result of the research showing that VSS and CODhas highest during treatment.

Abstract

As one of the world tourism destination, Bali is supported by tourism industry components, such as tourist attractions whether they are natural or cultural ones. As a good example of tourist attraction developed by a private company in Bali is Bali Orchid Garden. Abstract

The sustainability of watershed ecosystem functions in managing the water system can be achieved if the utilization pattern of their territories in accordance with the rules of conservation. A decrease in quantity and quality of the river water can be an indicator that condition of the watershed have been damaged. The destruction of the watershed ecosystem as a result of various causes will be able to threaten supply of sustainable water resources. The aim of this research is to determine and analyze the perceptions and behavior of upstream communities and governments about the function and role of water conservation and watershed in their behavior in the preservation of the watershed and its relationship with the current condition of the Ayung river. The study was conducted in the area upstream of Ayung river, which is in the Belok Sidan and Plaga Village, Petang, Badung, stake holder water users Ayung River such as PDAM, AMDK, rafting and farmers, as well as the government of Badung Regency that responsible for the management and conservation of Ayung River. Results of the study found that the public perception of the functions and benefits of watershed in the conservation of water resources classified in the category of high, but was followed by actions or attitudes in the medium category. There was no real relationship between perception and action, but the action affect current watershed conditions. The role and participation of stakeholders Ayung River water users were still relatively low in the preservation of the watershed, while the government's role classified as medium has not been done in an integrated among sectors and regions. From the results of this study it is recommended that the preservation of the Ayung river through various conservation action were integrated by involving communities upstream more active through the empowerment of local knowledge and improve their welfare. Government plays an important role in moving towards unity of this act.

Abstract

Knowledge of garbage problem is important for a community. A study has been conducted at Singkup Village of Tasikmalaya, West Java. The objective was to find out the effects of extension strategy, and the motivation of environment healthy care on the knowledge about garbage of the housewives in the village, which has a dumping site. The design was a 2 x 2 factorial with a sample of 60 women, selected at random. The results show that the housewife’s knowledge about garbage was better by cooperative extension strategy than by the tutorial strategy. The high motivation for healthy care of environment was better by cooperative extension strategy; and for the low motivation healthy care, the tutorial extension strategy better than the cooperative way. The interaction was found between extension strategy and the healthy environment care on knowledge about garbage.

Abstract

This research is done in Lake Batur to know the water quality of Lake Batur this time through biological and non biological pollution index. The population of this research is all water in the lake and the sample is the water taken from Trunyan, Toya Bungkah, Kedisan and Songan Villages. Systematic sampling is employed to take the sample. The data are analyzed by ecologically statistic and its result is compared to the standard water quality according to its functions. The result shows (1) the water quality of Lake Batur based on non biological and biological pollution index shows degradation phenomena; (2) IPB, NVC, and Total Coliform results show that there is water pollution; (3) the physical and chemical aspects (e.g. pH and temperature), do not show pollution yet, meanwhile the dissolved oxygen (DO) shows the classification of medium pollution; and (4) the source of pollution can be predicted through farming, fishery, household, tourism activities and natural pollution source.
