Abstract

In the system of electricity power, either thermal or electric failure often takes place. In order to prevent such failure, isolator testing towards the power transformer is needed. A mineral oil Nynas Nitro Libra was used as the research subject, in which it was compared to the other oil types, involving new oil, in-use oil, and used crude oil. The method used was testing throughout the colour, water content, and breakdown voltage. Colour testing was conducted by comparing between used oil and typical oil, whereas water content was conducted by mixing chemical ingredients which were Solvent Xylol and toluene, followed by 100°C heating process within 3 hours and condenser cooling down until the moisture dropped down the trap, finished by 6 times breakdown voltage test through environment temperature. The testing result shows that crude oil indicates D 8,0 (black colour), with moisture content TRACE (0,2%) which is 4 ppm. The value of 6-time breakdown voltage test in the temperature of 22°C indicates: 09.4 KV, 09.1 kV, 09.2 kV, 09.6 kV, 09.5 kV, 12.0 kV with dielectric power 3.92 kV/mm.

Abstract

Collision avoidance multiple access plays a significant role in WirelessSensor Networks (WSN) as there may have a huge number of nodes in a network. Therefore, it has big chance to conflict when they want to send a packet to the server atthe same time. In our work, we focus on the sensor networks with two-tier network designarchitecture that composed of simple function nodes and presented performance analysisof the proposed collision avoidance multiple access protocol for Wireless SensorNetworks, with emphasis on the contention process exercising in each contention subframe. Then we also examine the efficiency of the overall system based on the simulationresults. The results shows that using different parameter of n, m, and k then the successfulprobability tends to increase, however after certain value of n, the successful probabilitywill decrease. Regarding the overall system efficiency, Esys, in order to get the optimumvalue of system efficiency, we have to maximize α. It is obvious that the bigger value of βwill produce bigger value of α. That is mean a shorter contention sub-frame leads to abetter efficiency of the systems, if Lr (average length of transmission sub-frame) is fixed.

Abstract

Measurement, modeling, and optimization are three important components that must be done to get a better system on the BLDC motor speed control system. The problem that arises in the BLDC motor speed control system is the instability indicated by a high overshoot value, a slow rise time value, and a high error steady-state. The purpose of this study is to increase the stability indicator by eliminating the high value of overshoot and error steady-state and increasing the value of the rise time. The method used in this research is to measure the input and output physical parameters, to model the BLDC motor plant mathematically and the last is to perform optimization using several control methods such as Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) control, fuzzy logic intelligent control, and Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm. (PSO). Experimental and simulation results show that the PSO algorithm has a better value in increasing stability indicators when compared to the other two control methods with a rise time of 0.00121 seconds, settling time of 0.00241 seconds, and overshoot of 0%.

Abstract

This research was conducted to find out the amount of power produced by steam power generators and the amount of power needed for the operation of production motors in PT Madubaru Yogyakarta. This study also discusses the factors that support and inhibit the fulfillment of electric power in PT Madubaru Yogyakarta. From the results of the analysis that has been done, it can be seen that the power generated by the steam power generator at PT Madubaru Yogyakarta can meet the electricity needs of production motors in the factory. The power generated by the three steam generators at PT Madubaru amounts to 3,000 KW, while the power needed for the operation of production motors at the Milling Station, the Ketel Station, Central Factory Station, and Rear Factory Station is 2,313.54 KW. However, the production motor does not always turn on simultaneously, so the power needed is between 1,500 KW to 2,000 KW. The remaining power is used to anticipate an increase in electricity load.

Abstract

Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, as an educational institution, indeed uses the building as a supporting facility for all activities carried out. In each of the reviews, these activities, of course, use of electrical energy, but not infrequently the electrical energy used exceeds the limits of the reasonableness of the resulting use in financial swelling. An energy audit is an activity carried out periodically to determine the amount of energy consumption, irregularities in the system, and load imbalances that cause power losses in a building. These parameters can be obtained by measuring on the SDP panel using a power quality analyzer with IEEE 59-1992 as a obtained reference to the results of the average voltage fluctuations are still within the safe limits determined by PLN items, i.e., from 198 to 231 volts. THDv is still within the safe limit under 5%, as well as for the THDi is also still within the safe limit of tolerance of 15%. As a result of harmonic disturbances and load imbalances in the building G5 in 2018, the caused losses of power losses that need to be borne by Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta in the amount of Rp 9,210,133.09.

Abstract

This paper described research to investigate Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) on a supposedly green building; Admission Building in Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. Observation was done for seven days involving peak and non-peak hours including workdays and off days. Data sampling was recorded 24 hours with one-hour interval for primary parameter data including voltage, current, power factor and frequency on each phase in three phases system. Secondary data calculated to find voltage and current THD and finally to evaluate the loss of money due to power loss as the result of harmonic and unbalance load. Investigation indicated that the building has not met the IEEE 512-2014 standard for Total Harmonic Distortion. National electricity company, PLN (Perusahaan Listrik Negara) as Government Company, has made regulation about tariff and standard. Electricity tariff in Indonesia has been divided into categories based on user, commercial, social, or housing. Based on this tariff, loss of cost was calculated. Cost due to electricity loss in the building was not high since the building has good electricity installation as green building. Total Harmonic distortion reduction was recommended using single tune order 5 filter.

Abstract

Community service program is a compulsory subject for all students in Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY). The existing information system of community service program in UMY is still run conventionally starting from registration system, group division and work area announcement. Meanwhile, students should come and ask directly to Office of Research, Publication, and Community Service to get all the information related to the program. This current system is complicated not only for students but also for officer who manage all data about community service program in UMY. Manually administered management cause frequent errors in invading data and takes a long time to complete the activity. Researchers initiated solution to overcome this problem by implement an application of management information system. This research has developed a web-based application that can be used to manage registration, personal data filling, and periodic scheduling for students whom take the community service program. Various parameters implementation as success determinant of system creation has been applied, so obtained a decent system used. The application is based on windows operating system that easily could be accessed through web interface. System testing has been done both from users (students) side and admin. the form of the webbased application developed has followed the standard manual form so that the system can work effectively and efficiently.
