Abstract

The background of the problem in this study is the analytical ability of students of SMA Negeri 13 Semarang on biotechnology material is still low. One of the consequences on the absorption of UN in 2017, 2018 and 2019 in the puspendik is also low. The teaching materials used are not yet in accordance with the needs and tastes of learners. in addition, learning is still focused on teachers with lecture and discussion methods. This, resulting in KD biotechnology has not been achieved. This research aims to develop research-based e-booklets on the application of conventional biotechnology as a supplement to biotechnology materials facilitated with learning devices. The research method used is Research and Development. Data collection in this study used interview guidelines, validation assessment sheet, clozure technique form, and response questionnaire. The results showed that based on expert assessment of materials and media on e-booklet developed showed very valid criteria with an average percentage of 92.77% and 93.4%. Trials of learners in the clozure technique got an average percentage of 96.33% with high criteria. Meanwhile, students and teachers' responses to e-booklets get an average percentage of 91.25% and 97.22% with very decent criteria. In the validation assessment, learning devices get very valid criteria on all devices created, including syllabus, RPP, LKPD, and evaluation questions with the average percentage obtained in a row is 87.76%; 90,04%; 92,01%; and 93.17%. Through learning using e-booklets that have been developed and refer to learning tools that have been created is expected to improve the analytical skills of learners.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of flipped classrooms during the covid-19 pandemic to improve understanding of students' concepts and self efficacy, especially in circulatory system materials. This type of research is a quaration of experiments using non-equivalent control group design. The population is all students of grade XI Mipa SMA N 4 Pekalongan school year 2020/2021. Sampling in this study used purposive sampling technique with selected class XI Mipa 3 and 4. In experimental classes they implement flipped classroom learning while control classes implement non-flipped classroom learning using video conference and assignment methods. Data collection there are two techniques namely test and non-test. The results showed that understanding of student concepts increased after the application of flipped classroom in learning. From 13% of students understand the concept to 55% of students understand the concept. Results N of moderate category experiment class gain 51.43% and high 45.71% while medium category control class 29.40% and high 35.30%. Classical completedness of experimental class learning by 85%. Mann Whitney's test results showed Asymp's value. Sig. (2-tailed) 0.038 < 0.05 so it known that there is a significant difference between the average posttest results of the experimental class and the control class. Self efficacy of students before treatment category is quite high to high by 42.86%. After the treatment of flipped classrooms became 71.43%. The results of the paired sample t-test showed the Asymp value. Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 <0.05, so it known that there is a significant difference after treatment. Based on these results, it can be concluded that flipped classroom is effective to improve student’s understanding of concepts and self efficacy in circulatory system materials.

Abstract

Biology is a subject that bridges students' knowledge about this pandemic period, where this subject must present knowledge about viruses. In fact, the curriculum designs material that is very detailed and thoroughly discusses viruses found at the SMA / MA / SMK level, but the very minimum requires teachers to evaluate psychomorphic learning related to the application of healthy living habits and preventive efforts to campaign against viruses. Through this article, it will be explained how important psychomotor assessment of this virus is, where the condition of students must first have the competence and do real practicum in preventing virus diseases, especially COVID-19. This article is the result of observations on the implementation of psychomotor assessment, literature review, and documentation studies that give rise to ideas on the importance of psychomotor assessment of virus material in students. Virus material is very important to be presented in biology learning with consideration of a very wide coverage of material (virology), contextual material, the material as a design for health education indicators, and as an indicator design with epidemic response education.

Abstract

Rembang is famous for the marine products as one of the main commodities. This is inseparable from the large number of Fish Auction Houses (TPI) in several sub-districts located on the north coast of Rembang that contribute marine products to support the economic sector in Rembang Regency. TPI is a market where fishermen can land the fish they get and serve as a place to sell them and various other marine products. The Species of Fish in TPI Rembang Regency have a potential to be used as a learning resource in the form of an encyclopedia, and a function as a learning supplement. The method of the study was modified research and development (R&D) of Borg & Gall (2003). The encyclopedia's feasibility level validation refers to the modified BSNP 2014 standard of teaching material feasibility, which includes four components of feasibility, namely content, language, presentation, and graphics. Validity and feasibility test of the encyclopedia was carried out by students using a gaps test to measure the readability and the questionnaire responses of students to the encyclopedia. The percentage of feasibility the encyclopedia by biology experts and teacher reached 90.23% with very feasible criteria. The percentage of readability of the encyclopedia through the gap test reached 98.22% with high level criteria. The percentage of students' responses to the encyclopedia through questionnaires reached 88.9%. The high readability level and very feasible criteria resulting from this study indicate that the encyclopedia developed is feasible for use as a source of high school biology learning.

Abstract

research college. Scientific attitudes, scientific processes, and scientific products are special characteristics of the research learning process. The three components of research learning are developed by educators, both teachers and lecturers, maximally in practicum activities in the laboratory. Therefore, as a first step in student learning, lecturers should be able to innovate and be creative in utilizing existing resources for example by the preparation and implementation practicum based on learning by research model. The purpose of this study is to know the process of developing a practicum guideline of Plant Physiology based on Learning By Research. To produce practical products of plant physiology that is valid, and practical for use in the Biological Education Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar. This research is Research and Development (R&D) with using plomp development model. From the results of the research that has been done shows that the practicum guide of Plant Physiology based on Learning by Research that has been developed meets valid and practical criteria. The validation result of the guide is obtained the average value of the Content Validation Coefficient of 0.88 or has high relevance. While the practicality test is in the category of 'overall implemented' with a value of 3.56.

Abstract

Learning on 21 centuries is not only focused on improving students' learning achievement but also focused on developing students' skills and abilities. One of them is to develop the students' science process and creative thinking skills. Guided discovery is one of the learning methods that is suggested for showing those students' skills. This research is aimed to know the result of achievement on students’ science process and creative thinking skills on fungus material. The method used was pre-experimental by using a One group pre-test post-test design to conduct the research. The population of the research was all students of class X MIPA SMAN 8 Semarang in the academic year 2019/2020. The sample of the research used the purposive sampling technique. The result found that students’ science process skills in this research showed the result of each aspect got very good criteria in two experimental classes. The result of students’ creative thinking got classical achievement that was 94.36% by the number of students that reached it was 67 students of 71 sample. The improvement in students’ creative thinking result got an improvement by N-gain score 0,73 with high criteria. Based on the result of analysing the research, it can be concluded that the Guided Discovery learning method can improve students’ achievement of the science process and creative thinking skills.

Abstract

Students' science literacy skills in Indonesia are still low. This is evidenced by studies conducted by PISA every three years. There needs to be an update of the learning model to improve students' science literacy skills. The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia caused learning to be done remotely. This study aims to produce appropriate learning devices that can be used during the COVID-19 pandemic. The method used is Research and Development which is modified into eight research steps. The research was conducted in the odd semester of the 2020/2021 academic year in the XII MIPA 1 and XII MIPA 3 classes of SMA N 1 Karangrayung. Data retrieval using questionnaires, interviews, and tests. The characteristics of the learning devices developed in this study were designed with a flipped classroom model that starts with self-asynchronous, then continues synchronous learning, and ends with collaborative asynchronous. The results showed (1) components of learning devices consisting of syllabus, RPP, LKS, and evaluation tools were declared very feasible by experts; (2) the components of the learning device get excellent response by the biology teacher and get an excellent response from the student. Based on these results, the learning devices developed are very feasible to be used in the process of online learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know about the Daily Deuteronomy (UH) Of Integrated Science Students Grade VIII SMP Negeri 7 Kerinci Year Point 2020/2021 which is from the higher validity, reliability, differentiation and difficulty level. This research is quantitative research with descriptive method. Mata in this study students of grade VIII SMP Negeri 7 Kerinci Year Story 2020/2021 which amounted to 50 students and objects in this study is the question and answer Key Deuteronomy (UH) Mata Sekolah IPA Terpadu VIII Class VIII SMP Negeri 7 Kerinci Year Story 2020/2021 which consists of 20 Ways of collecting data which way. Analyze data by means of spss program help version 24.0 and Microsoft Excel. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that valid question items amounted to 11 questions with a percentage of 55 percent at number 1,2,3,4,7,9,10,11,14,16,19 with criteria ≥ 0.2787, while the invalid question amounts to 9 questions with 45% points at 5,6,8,12,13,15,17,18,20 with criteria < 0.2787. Daily Deuteronomy Problem Reliability (UH) This Integrated IPA Value Currency has a Value of Cronbach’s Alpha or s 0.70 and is disp above the reliability criteria that is a matter of whether reliability is high. On the differentiation of the question that is classified as good as 45 % of the 20 points of multiple choice questions at this time high learners with low group learners. The question item which is the question which is a good differentiator or the proportion of the index derimination of the problem in the sub-district is high. And the index of difficulty of good questions that are classified as being greater than the problem that is classified as difficult is from 20 points of multiple choice questions 13 points of questions (65%) relatively easy.

Abstract

The objective of the study is to develop Student Worksheet (LKPD) based on the Outdoor Learning Process (OLP) and an Atlas of Biological Diversity of Biological Learning Material and to analyze the feasibility level of Student Worksheet (LKPD) based on The out Door Learning Process (OLP) and The Atlas of Biodiversity. The type of the study is Research and Development (R&D) with the research design is ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The stage of study analysis was carried out by observing the types of plants, animals, fungi, and algae poured into student worksheet and Atlas of Biodiversity and observing the necessity of the student. The second and the third stages was designing and developing with the main focus to develop a product according to the direction and corrections of the material expert validator and the media expert validator. The following stage was Implementation step which was carried out in SMAN 3 Demak Students class XII MIPA 1, XII MIPA 3, and XII MIPA 6 to determine the level of student knowledge about Science Process Skill (KPS) after they read the LKPD and the Atlas of Biodiversity. Furthermore, at the stage Evaluation, an evaluation of the product developed was carried out in order to obtain a final product that is suitable for application in learning activities. The mean percentage score of the material expert validator was 82.95%, the mean percentage score of the media expert validator was 91.5%, the mean score of teacher validation was 77.5% , the mean score of teacher responses was 80% and the mean score of student responses was 81,96%. Based on the result of the study, it is concluded that the LKPD and the Atlas of biodiversity are very suitable for use. The test results of 40 ecosystem material questions given to 60 students obtained low results with a percentage of 33.35%, meaning that LKPD needed to be applied directly in order to increase students' knowledge of science process skills..

Abstract

Analytical skills are thinking to solve issues with reasons and relate problems that arise with previous issues. This capability is one of the focus goals of 21st century education. A Covid-19 pandemic causes learning to take place online and remotely. Automatically learning devices must be made conditionally and accordingly. Teachers need to apply a learning model with appropriate learning resources, not only with conventional methods (lectures), to analyze the biology material presented. The learning model chosen to improve students' analytical skills was the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD). This study aimed to describe the characteristics and analyze the feasibility level of developing the STAD Model online learning tool. The research design used a modified Research and Development (R&D) method. The research was carried out online at the Odd Semester of the Academic Year of 2020/2021. The subjects in this study were 15 students of twelve graders of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. They have received material on Human Reproductive Systems and 2 Biology Teachers at SMA N 1 Dempet. The research’s object was online learning tools in the form of syllabus, lesson plan one sheet, and worksheets based on the STAD learning model of Human Reproductive System Material. The data analyzed descriptively, qualitatively, and quantitatively. Data analysis techniques included validation questionnaires by validators and analysis of students’ and teachers’ readability of learning devices. The results showed that the characteristics of the learning tools developed in this study were online syllabus, lesson plans, and worksheets; STAD Model-Based; RPP one sheet. The materials presented were Human Reproductive System Material; The learning objectives were equipped with audience and behaviour elements and had a mission to improve students' analytical skills. The analysis results showed that the developed syllabus and lesson plans were considered very valid, with a percentage of 94.2% and 95%. The student worksheet (LKS) was included very valid criteria in terms of material with a percentage of 89% and terms of media by 85%. The readability questionnaire results showed that the average percentage of teacher’s responses was 93% and student’s responses were 79%. It concluded that the STAD Model online learning tool to improve students' analytical skills was included in the very valid criteria and very suitable for use in the biology learning process of Human Reproductive System Material.
