Abstract

This research aims to analyze the validity, the readability, and the effectiveness of the environment problem based module on environmental change subject for high school students. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 3 Brebes on the second semester in the Academic Year of 2019/2020. The design of this research is Research and Development (R&D). The population of this research is the class of X MIPA 5 SMA Negeri 3 Brebes. The sample of this study is 10 students of X MIPA 5 class that was chosen by using purposive sampling technique. The result of this study showed that the average of the validity value of the environment problem based module by subject and media experts is 90,71 with the criteria is very valid. The readability value by the teacher is 96,25 and by the students is 87,25 with the criteria is very good. The accumulated effectiveness test score of 83.5 is included in the very effective category. The effectiveness test of cognitive aspects showed that 90% of the students have a score above 70, the result of the psychomotor aspects showed that 7 students have a very good problem solving skills and 3 students have a good problem solving skills, and the result of the affective aspects showed that 70% of the students have a very high environmental care attitude and 30% of the students have a high environmental care attitude. The conclusion of this study is the environment problem based module is feasible and effectively used to help the students learn independently and as a source of additional learning for students.

Abstract

MA Negeri Rembang and MA Mu'allimin Mu'allimat Rembang are religious-based schools but there has been no integration between science religions in every learning and still lack of teaching materials. There is no book that integrates religion in biological material. The purpose of this research is to produce materials to teach human reproductive system with religious science insight and to improve the critical thinking ability of MA students. The research and development design (R&D), the development model used by ADDIE using 2 classes as the research subjects: XI- science of MA Negeri Rembang and XI- science of MA Mu'allimin Mu'allimat Rembang. The instruments used were tests and non-tests, which consisted of 10 question items to measure students' critical thinking abilities, validation questionnaires, teacher and student responses questionnaires, and also interview guides. The result of the syllabus validation from the material expert gave an average score of 0,85 and the media expert gave an average score of 0,95. The validation results of lesson plan from material experts gave an average score of 0,83 and media experts gave an average score of 0,98. The results showed that the valid teaching materials were excellent categories. The material expert gave an average score of 4,25 and media experts gave an average score of 5. The average responses score from MA Negeri Rembang’s teachers was 85 and MA Mu'allimin Mu'allimat Rembang’s teachers was 79. The average score of MA Negeri Rembang students' responses to the teaching materials reached 98 and MA Mu'allimin Mu'allimat Rembang students was 97. Based on pre-test and post-test results for simple argumentation ability indicators obtained an average score of N-gain students MA Negeri Rembang 0,75 and MA Mu'allimin Mu'allimat Rembang 0,70. The indicator of ability to connect between concepts obtained an average score of N-gain in MA Negeri Rembang of 0,69 and MA Mu'allimin Mu'allimat of 0,76. The average post-test result score for the indicator of ability to connect between the concepts of MA Negeri Rembang reached 89,64 and MA Mu'allimin Mu'allimat reached 86.73, while the indicator of ability to give simple arguments MA Negeri Rembang reached 88,73 and MA Mu'allimin Mu'allimat reached 86,82. It can be concluded that teaching materials of human reproductive system religious science insight was valid and contributed to improve the ability of critical thinking students. Therefore, teaching materials can be used in the learning of the human reproductive system.

Abstract

This study analyses the students' problem solving and metacognitive abilities by applying the BSCS 5E model based on multiple representations to ecosystem material. This research is a pre-experiment using the One-Shot Case Study design. The research pupils were students of class X SMA N 1 Donorojo in the 2019/2020 academic year. The research sample was class X MIPA 2 and X MIPA 5, taken by purposive sampling. The methods used in data collection include tests, interviews and questionnaires. The results showed that the problem-solving ability was in the "medium" category with an average score of 58.8 and the students' final score was in the "medium" category with an average of 60.4. Metacognitive abilities are in the "ok" category. The study journal is in the "high" category. Also the implementation of the learning model is in the "high" category. The calculation results obtained rcount ꞊ 0.509 while rtable with dk ꞊ 65 and a significant level of 5% is 0.244. Because rcount> rtable, HO reject and accept H1 means a significant relationship between problem-solving and metacognitive abilities. Contribution of problem-solving abilities to metacognitive abilities was 26%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the students ' problem-solving abilities are in the "medium" category and the students' metacognitive abilities are "ok" by applying the BSCS 5E model based on multiple representations on ecosystem material.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe feasibility of learning device with the SETS model based on science literacy on the subject of ecosystem. This study use the R&D method which adopts the modified ADDIE model consisting of analysis, design and development. At the analysis stage, a needs analysis and curriculum analysis are carried out to determine learning needs, what will be taught and the competencies that students must be mastered. At the design stage, researchers designed learning device to be developed based on the results of previous analyzes in the form of RPP, teaching materials and assessment instruments as well as collecting references. The last stage, the development stage is the stage of creating the product design into a product that is ready to be implemented, at this stage a product validation instrument used to validate learning device is also arranged. The data collection technique was carried out by collecting data on the results of RPP, teaching materials and assessment instruments validation by four experts which was carried out at the development stage. The results showed that the score given by the validator to the RPP was 3.45 on the “valid” category, the score given to the teaching materials was 3.52 on the very “valid” category and the score given to the assessment instrument was 3.45 on the “valid” category. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the learning device developed are suitable for use.

Abstract

The Lusi River has local potential for abundant biodiversity, one of them is the diversity of dragonfly species. This local potential can be compiled into a teaching supplement to complement the student's teaching book. Data on the diversity of dragonflies in the Lusi watershed of Blora region was successfully obtained and compiled as a supplementary book of biodiversity chapters. However, the feasibility of the book needs to be assessed by material experts, media experts, teachers, and students. The purpose of this study was to analyze the feasibility and response of teachers and students to the supplement book developed. This study is designed as Research and Development (R&D) that is limited to the small-scale test stage. Eligibility data obtained by using media validation questionnaires and questionnaires made in accordance with BSNP 2014 standards, while teacher and student response data is obtained by using teacher and student response questionnaires. The validation of material experts against teaching supplements got a score of 93.23% and media experts gave a score of 98.61%, both with very decent categories. However there are suggestions from material and media validators for minor revisions. Teacher and student responses to teaching supplement received scores of 91.83% and 97.3% respectively with very decent categories. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the teaching supplement of dragonfly diversity in Lusi River watershed is feasible for use in the study of biodiversity chapters.

Abstract

This present study aimed at producing a feasible learning design employing problem-based learning with mind mapping model to develop the ability of critical and creative thinking for Junior high school students in the excretory system material. This research belongs to Research and Development following ADDIE research model without including the implementation stage. The stages which were adopted in this research stopped on the development stage. The products of the developed learning design are lesson plan, learning module, student worksheet, and test instrument. The data collection technique of this research was validation by seven validators involving expert lecturers and science teachers to examine the validity and quality of the learning design. The validation analysis result showed that the learning design is categorized into “very valid” criteria in each scoring aspect. Based on that analysis, the learning design is valid and is able to be tested in the learning activity. However, the validators gave comment and suggestion which were used to improve the products. The test instrument was tested for students and its result was analyzed to figure out the validity, reliability, level of difficulty, and discriminating power of the test items. Based on the items analysis, six question items are classified as valid, reliable, having a moderate level of difficulty, and having a good discriminating power. The final result of this research produces a development product of leaning design that is feasible to be brought into testing.

Abstract

This study aimed to see the multimedia characteristics of the Smart-Flash Immune System that has been built, the validity of the content and readability, and to see the applicability of Immune System Smart-Flash multimedia. The research was conducted using the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) research model. The data taken in this study were the validity of the Immune System Smart-Flash multimedia in terms of material and media by experts, as well as the application of Immune System Smart-Flash multimedia data in the form of the results of filling out questionnaire responses by students and teachers. The results showed that the Immune System Smart-Flash multimedia had 4 factors, namely it can be used independently by students, has attractive features and display designs, has an animated video that is connected to the original website, and has an evaluation in the form of a puzzle game. The results of validation of material experts 1 and 2 and media experts 1 and 2 were 95%, 90%, 87%, and 87% respectively with very feasible criteria. The responses of students and teachers 1 and 2 obtained a proportion of ≥80% with the overall criteria being very good. Based on the research results, it can be seen that Immune System Smart-Flash multimedia was very suitable for use in learning activities.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze how the use of SkelToon animated video learning media in improving students' learning motivation on motion system materials. This research was conducted at SMAN 30 Kab. Tangerang. The method used in this research is a 4D research and development model method consisting of four stages, namely the definition, design, development, and distribution of research design one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects in this study were 21 students who sat in grade XI mipa. The research instrument used in this research is a non-test instrument in the form of a learning motivation questionnaire. The results of media feasibility test by validator showed that animated video media designed in the category is very valid, and in this study statistical test using t-test of paired samples that showed that the significance value obtained in this study was 0.000 which is less than 0.05 , then based on the anal results.

Abstract

Technological advancement is one aspect that can be used to support the learning process. Through the use of technology, one of them is by applying blended learning models students get new experiences that will help them in understanding the material. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of blended learning models on the motivation and learning outcomes of Don Bosko High School students on ecological materials. This research is an experimental research using quasi experiment nonequivalent control group design. Population of students in grade X mipa at Don Bosko High School. The samples used were class X MIPA 2 as experimental class and X MIPA 3 as control class. Sampling using puspossive random sampling. The independent variable in this study is the model of blended learning of ecological material, the dependent variables are the motivation of learning and learning outcomes. The results showed that the percentage of students' learning motivation in the experimental class was 96% while in the control class 84.62% were in a very good and good category. Cognitive learning outcomes in the experimental class were higher than the control class with 84% of students achieving the established KKM. Improved learning outcomes in the experimental class showed moderate categories, while in the control class was in the low category. These results were reinforced by a questionnaire of student responses that gave a positive response to the blended learning model. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the blended learning model of ecological material is effective against the motivation of learning and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Based on the results of observations at SMAN 15 Semarang students still have difficulty working on the questions requires analysis, evaluation, and a high degree of difficulty. In addition, learning has not stimulated students to improve critical thinking skills. Learning that is applied is still more dominant in the aspect of knowledge, it does not require students to be active and train thinking to find independent concepts. This study aims to analyze the effect of PBL learning by analyzing the case study material of the respiration system on students' critical thinking skills. This research was conducted at SMA N 15 Semarang with the research design Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research steps included preliminary observation including potential and problem analysis, determining the subject as a sample, namely class XI MIPA 6 as the control class and XI MIPA 7 as the experimental class, making learning tools, compiling research instruments, conducting test questions in class XII MIPA 3, question trial analysis, research implementation, research data analysis, preparation of research results discussion. The data analysis was carried out by the prerequisite test with the normality and homogeneity test. Normality test with SPSS ver. 21 it is known that the Kolmogorov Smirnov significance criteria of 0.200> 0.05 and 0.074> 0.05 can indicate that the experimental and control classes are normally distributed. The homogeneity test shows that the Leven's significance criteria 0.163> 0.05 in both samples have the same variance. After fulfilling the prerequisite test, the two mean difference test was carried out with the test known that the significance value was 0.000 <0.05 because of the significant difference between the two samples. Then performed the N-Gain test to measure the increase in critical thinking skills. The results of the N-Gain of the experimental class in the high category were 52% and the medium category was 48%, while in the control class the moderate category was 54% and 46% low. After obtaining the N-gain, the t-test for the average N-gain score was carried out. The results of student activity in the experimental class with a higher average value in the control class. The average value of the experimental class was 83.4% in the very good category, while the control class was 75.8% in the good category. The average result of PBL implementation level with Case Study Analysis was 86.6% with very good category. Students gave very good responses to PBL learning with Case Study Analysis with an average of 83.5%. Based on these results it can ignore PBL learning with Case Study Analysis on the material of the respiration system on students' thinking abilities.
