Abstract

Homology Analysis Of CVPDr DNA Fragment from 13 Citrus Variety in Bali Using Nucleotide Blast And Protein Blast CVPDr from Trhiphasia trifolia is predicted to have to increase resistance fromCVPD, but the mechanism of this DNA is still largely unknown. The first step of DNAanalyzing is by using homology with Nucleotide and Protein BLAST. BLAST canidentify, similarity search, and predict the function of DNA. The goal of this researchis to compare CVPDr DNA fragment from T. Trifolia with sequences from NCBIGenbank and finding it’s significant homology using nucleotide BLAST and proteinBLAST. Nucleotide BLAST result shows that “DNA Citrus nobilis cultivar Tabanancitrus vein phloem degeneration r protein (CVPDr) gene, partial cds” have the highesthomologs, the other sequences that’s shown by BLAST does not have high enoughsimilarity to be homologus. Protein BLAST show “citrus vein phloem degeneration rprotein [Citrus nobilis]” have the highest homologs, but even if the other BLAST resulthave percentage of similarity lower than 55% there are still possibility of structuralhomolog because the E value is lower than 0.01.

Abstract

Application of Biological Agent and Humus to Suppress Population Fusariumoxysporum f.sp. cubense the Cause of Banana Stem Rot. The study aimed to determine the interaction between P. fluorescens, Trichoderma spp. fungus, and humus in suppressing the population of Fusariumoxysporum f.sp. cubense in the soil. The design used was a randomized blockdesign (RBD) of 2 factors namely antagonistic microbes and humus. There were 18treatments with 3 replications so that 54 experimental units were obtained. Thevariables observed were the population of Foc, population of P. fluorescens, population of Trichoderma spp., and soil pH. The results showed that thecombination of biological agent and humus could reduce the population of Foc. Thehigher concentration of humus combined with biological agent showed thedecreasing population of Foc which causes rot of banana stems.

Abstract

Potential of Endophytic Bacteria in Suppressing The Growth of Phytophthorapalmivora (Butler) in Vitro The purpose of this study was to determine the potential of endophytic bacteria in controlling cocoa fruit rot caused by the fungus Phytophthora palmivora. The studywas conducted in vitro and direct test on cocoa fruit. The results of the inhibitory testshowed that 4 isolates of endophytic bacteria had the best inhibition for suppressingthe growth of Phytophthora palmivora. The in vitro inhibitory test showed, thetreatment of TN41 isolates was able to inhibit Phytophthora palmivora with thehighest inhibition percentage of 92.52% when compared to the control at theobservation of 5 days after inoculation. The direct test on cocoa fruit showed thetreatment of TN41 isolate had the least area of spot that is 0.20 mm2 at 7 days after inoculation. Further research needs to be conducted related to the stability ofendophytic bacteria isolate TN41 as an antagonist agent against Phytophthorapalmivora.

Abstract

Difference in Harvest Age Against the Results and Quality of Seedlings of Beans(Phaseolus vulgaris L.) This study aims to determine the effect of seed age on the yield and quality of beans. This research is a one factor research with three different age of harvesttreatments are: harvest before physiological maturity 24 days after flower blooms, harvest at physiological maturity is 27 days after flower blooms, and harvest afterphysiological maturity is 30 days after flower bloom. This study used a randomizedblock design (RBD) with 9 replications. The observed variables included: thedevelopment of the seed wet weight, seed oven dry weight, seed moisture content, podand seed character, percentage of good seed, weight of 1000 seed grains, seedgermination, and seed growth simultaneity. The results showed that the pod harvesttime for the best seeds was carried out at the age of 27 days after the flowers bloomed. At that time the highest dry weight of the seeds and pods had changed color from greento yellowish green. At that time the seeds also showed maximum qualitycharacteristics, such as the percentage of good seeds (87.22%) and the weight of 1000seeds (91.34 g). Physiological characteristics of seed quality such as seed germinationcapacity of 99.78% and 88.78% simultaneity of seed growth were also obtained at thetime of pod harvest at 27 days after flower blooms.

Abstract

Rice stem borer is one of the pests that can cause a decrease in rice yield. In Indonesia there are four types of rice stem borer namely S. incertulas, S. innotata, C. suppressalis and S. inferens. This study aims to determine the effect of rice stem borer attack on rice crop yields. The study was conducted for three months in February to April 2019 located in Subak Cemagi Let, Cemagi Village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency, using a diagonal sampling method, the effect of rice stem borer attack on yield reduction. Observations were made on the percentage of rice stem borer infestation, rice stem borer type, wet weight of rice plants. Observation test shows that rice stem borer attack changes every week and affects the rice crop yields.
