Abstract

This research discusses the social value inculcation implementation in building the fifth graders' characters at primary schools through social study learning. Living together in a society requires a particular value as a reference to interact with other people. This value is called as a social value. The family has a role in fostering human based on social value. Social value inculcation at school covers practical aspects. However, unfortunately, learning at schools mostly emphasizes the cognitive aspect. The objectives of this research were: 1) finding out the social value inculcation implementation in Social study learning for fifth graders of primary schools. 2) finding out the inhibiting factors and solution experienced by the teachers in instilling social values through social study learning for fifth graders of primary school. 3) finding out the outcomes of social value inculcation implementation in building the fifth graders' characters of primary school through social study. This research applies a qualitative descriptive method. Qualitative study is a study to understand a particular experienced phenomenon by research subjects, such as behaviours, perceptions, motivation, actions, and so on holistically by describing them into words and languages. It is done in a specific scientific context by using various scientific methods. The findings showed (1) the teachers' attitudes toward the fifth graders of Public Primary School 1 Terban and Public Primary School 6 Terban were innovative. Their attitudes reflected social study learning; (2) the inhibiting matters during the learning were from the teachers, learning materials, and learning media. The attempts to overcome the hindrances were providing training for social study teachers that was not their field of expertise; (3) the teachers were successful in instilling social-affective values based on the given indicators. The research implication showed excellent social-affective inculcation for the students through social study. Abstract

The education quality assurance of Darul Arafah Raya Islamic Boarding School based on TQM is a deserved breakthrough to improve its education quality. This research aims to describe and analyze the Islamic boarding school's quality assurance improvements based on TQM. It is done by involving the whole concerning parties to reach the vision and mission of Darul Arafah Raya Islamic boarding school. This research applied a case study qualitative approach. The data were collected by interview, observation, and documentation. The research data validity was obtained from triangulation and the researcher’s diligence improvements. The applied analyzing technique was Miles and Huberman interactive model. With a purpose to guarantee the Islamic boarding school's quality, the finding showed that TQM implementations were not applied to all TQM functions. The main focus was only on curriculum quality improvement. Darul Arafah Raya’s TQM implementations did not have specific and structured parts. Its leader had essential roles to involve and empower the whole teams to guarantee the Islamic boarding school's quality based on TQM and with proper managerial skills. It was also crucial to participate in monitoring each activity. Thus, it could support the education customers' necessities (the Islamic students', their representatives or parent, and the surrounding society).

Abstract

Islamic school culture basically embodies daily activities based on Islamic guidelines. SD Islam Sultan Agung 01 Semarang is a school that implements management based on school culture. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the implementation and evaluation of the management of moral and systemic institutions based on Islamic school culture at SD Islam Sultan Agung 01 Semarang. This study approach is qualitative with the form of case studies. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and document studies. The data that has been collected is then analyzed using qualitative analysis, which is the results of the research that will be translated into words so that the researcher can describe the results of the research in depth according to the actual conditions in the field. The results of this study at SD Islam Sultan Agung 01 Semarang show that the management of moral and systemic institutions based on Islamic school culture includes: (1) implementation with process stages: MLBS program material, MLBS program strategy, and MLBS program implementation schedule, (2) evaluation in the form of process evaluation and result evaluation.

Abstract

Poor employee performance needs further investigation. Ideally, employees that perform optimally indicate their qualified self-identities. This research aims to find out, explain, and analyze the leadership of the head of service and communication toward motivation and performance of educational authority employees in Nagekeo municipality, NTT. This research is quantitative research with Path Analysis.The quantitative approach allows this research to investigate the causalities of several influential factors toward employees' performances. The population of this research consisted of forty educational authority employees in Nagekeo municipality. The data were collected through questionnaire and documentary study. Then, the data would be validated to check their reliability. The applied data analysis technique was hypothesis test assisted by SPSS. Then, the data were analyzed by Path Analysis and assisted by SPSS. The findings showed that the head of the agency, communication, and motivation influenced directly to the employees' performances. Leadership and communication, moderated by motivation, did not directly influence the performance. Therefore, this research recommends that: (1) the head of service and communication, with all his authorities, could improve his supervision toward the employees, (2) the employees should optimally perform for the sake of better educational advancement in Nagekeo. Abstract

This research aimed to describe and analysis (1) planning of academic supervision for improving pedagogical competence of classroom teachers (2) implementation of academic supervision for improving pedagogical competence of classroom teachers (3) follow up the academic supervision for improving pedagogical competence of classroom teachers. This research is a qualitative research using a case study approach. Data were collected by means of observation, interviews, and documentation. Sources of data, both primary and secondary data, were obtained from three objects, namely persons such as the head of madrasah and teachers, places held at Madrasah Ibtidiyah Negeri Semarang, and papers containing documents about the results of academic supervision. The result of the research includes, (1) planning of academic supervision for improving pedagogical competence of classroom teachers that are (a) before observation (b) during observation, (c) after observation, (d) monitoring. (2) Implementation of academic supervision for improving pedagogical competence of classroom teachers that are (a) monitoring learning administration, (b) monitoring learning practice in classroom. (3) Follow up the academic supervision for improving pedagogical competence of classroom teachers in form of giving awards for the performance done by the teacher.

Abstract

Character education is a very important thing to do. However, at this time it still appears that the morale of students is still in the poor category. For this reason, this study aims to determine the implementation of character education at SMP Yoannes XXIII Semarang. This research is a research that uses a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation and document study. The data analysis technique in this study is an interactive model with data collection steps, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the implementation of character education at SMP Yoannes XXIII Semarang was well planned and programmed, prioritizing religious values, honesty, discipline, responsibility and care, which was carried out with habituation and integrated into all subjects and extracurricular activities. The obstacles in the implementation of character education in this school are differences in understanding of the school community, limited school control, lack of parental attention and awareness of students. The supporting factors are government policies, programmed activities, a conducive situation, infrastructure, human resources, leadership and the role model of teachers. The conclusion of this research is planning for the implementation of character education at SMP Yoannes XXIII Semarang through 2 processes, namely integrated in learning activities and activities outside of learning, namely integrated in each subject and extracurricular activities, evaluation of the implementation of character education seen from the teacher assessment guidelines and books. student discipline, and there are still obstacles in the implementation of character education in this school.

Abstract

Religious education aims to educate students with the understanding and practice of the values of religious teaching and is based on noble characters (ahlaqul karimah). The values of religious teachings and characters are part of character education which now has become an inevitability in the implementation of education. Madrasah diniyyah has become one of the important pillars and has had an undeniable role in carrying out religious education. The dynamics of social development and educational innovation are a challenge for the existence of madrasah diniyyah, one of which is in the field of curriculum management. It is absolutely that curriculum management is a necessity for Madrasah diniyyah to be able to respond to the demands and challenges of social dynamics. The purpose of this study is to analyze the planning, organization, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of curriculum in Madrasah Diniyyah. The method used was a qualitative approach with a case study design. Moreover, the data obtained through the interview, observation, and document study. The results showed that the curriculum planning of Madrasah Diniyyah referred to the vision and stipulation of the FKDT (Diniyyah Takmiliyyah Communication Forum) which was aligned with the social condition. The composition of the curriculum is divided into three forms, namely learning activities, cultural art skills, and practicing religious values. The curriculum of madrasah diniyyah was implemented in the classroom in the form of learning, and outside the classroom in the form of guidance and skills activities. The supervision and evaluation of the curriculum were carried out by the supervisor and principal of madrasah diniyyah regularly.
