Abstract

The efforts to achieve optimal results in the development of oil palm cultivation one of which is the use of the planting medium. Palm oil seedlings require planting medium that has the chemical and physical properties are good. Media palm nurseries generally consist of topsoil are mixed with sand and organic matter which is expected to obtain a good medium fertility premises. Top soil needs more difficult, so we need to look for alternative media to growing media prenursery palm oil. This study used randomized complete design and experiment arranged in seven media with four replications. The applications method of media: 100 % topsoil (A), topsoil and salvinia compost (1:1) (B), topsoil and coir palm oil (1:1) (C), topsoil and salvinia compost (1:2) (D) , topsoil and coir palm oil (1:2) (E), coir palm oil and salvinia compost (1:2) (F) , topsoil , salvinia compost, and coir palm oil (1:1:1) (G). All data were analyzed for variance. Data analysis followed by separation of means using LSD test with significance level of 5%. The resulted showed that both time and applications method of topsoil have affect on growth component. The best application method was topsoil, salvinia compost, and coir palm oil increased dry weight and root dry weight. Keywords: Prenursey, topsoil , salvinia compost, coir palm oil

Abstract

Pepper production and export in Indonesia, since last few years, tend to decrease because of various problems i.e: lack of maintenance, pests and diseases attack, old plant/ damaged, not using superior vareties with high productivity, and fluctuation of price. Opportunity of Indonesian pepper agribusiness in domestic and International market still high also opened for ? Lampung black pepper? and ? Muntok white pepper?. Looking the market opportunity and pepper problems, for the solution was coducted rehabilitate pepper plant, from pepper plant with hard damaged, old plant, low productivity also cannot be improved again so require to be changed with superior varieties which better potential production and resistance to pests and disease, and applying recommended cultivation. This research was conducted to know feasibility level of pepper plant rehabilitation using living post with investment feasibility criteria used Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Net Benefit Cost Ratio (Net B/C ratio) and Payback period. Analisis result showed that pepper plant rehabilitation using living post feasible to conducted. Key word: Pepper, Economic opportunity, rehabilitation, living post

Abstract

The research aims to study the ability of Azolla pinata in substituting nitrogen requirement of rice plants at a low dose of urea fertilizer. Factorial experiment arranged in randomized complete design (RCD) with four combinations of treatments and 6 replications. The first factor is the dose of urea with 2 dose level, ie, without urea (U0) and 100 kg urea ha-1 (U1). As a second factor is the provision of water plant Azolla pinnata with a degree without Azolla (A0) and Azolla 100 g m-2 (A1). The experimental results show that: (1) water plant azolla increased height, dry weight, productive tillers and dry weight of paddy rice crops, (2) Provision of a Urea increase high, dry weight, productive tillers and grain dry weight of rice plants, and (3) water plants azolla interacts with urea in increasing plant dry weight and grain dry weight of paddy. Abstract

Nationally, there are some areas of the provinces in Indonesia is livestock center including East Nusa Tenggara province. East Nusa Tenggara Governor Decree No. 278/Kep/HK/2011 Deciding that the allocation of large livestock beef to local consumers (West Java, Jakarta and Kalimantan) each of (a) as 55.000 heads of cattle,(b) 7.000 buffalo and (c) 5.000 horse. For transporting live cattle the only means of transportation by ship. Darmaga Tenau in serving the transport of life cattle is still in a simple way. Similarly, in a transit Kalimas. In an effort to decrease the cattle of the ship had been taken in three ways: (a) transported and unloaded from boats using nets, (b) direct the cows are herded through the bridge and (c) using containers. However, in connection with a number of criticisms relating to the principle Animal welfare, inevitably a third pattern to be implemented despite the fact that take a long time and ultimately costs more mahal. This paper is part of the research results of ?Efisiensi Moda Transportasi Ternak dan Daging Sapi Dalam Mendukung Program Swasembada Pangan? by the Center for Economic and Agricultural Policy, 2013. Location of the study focused on East Nusa Tenggara and East Java. Keywords: marine transportation, livestock, distribution

Abstract

The study aims to determine: (1) response growth and result of corn and peanut on monoculture and intercropping; (2) an optimal urea doze on growth and result of corn and peanut. Research did from July to November 2014 in Laboratory of Integrated, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The research used complete Random Group Design with Triple Multiply. Homogenity of variance was tested by Bartlett test. Separation of median is done by using the test Polynomial Orthogonal with real level 5 %. The result showed that picking of corn per hectar for monoculture higher than intercropping but the other variable wasn?t really different. Peanut monoculture higher than intercropping for number of pods, weight of 100 grains, and production of seed per hectar but for plant height and greening level, pattern levels of intercropping higher than monoculture, and there were not find an optimal urea doze for corn on intercropping of corn ?double row? and peanut. Abstract

This study aims to determine the pattern of segregation character soybean plant resistance to infection SMV and other agronomic characters as well as many genes that play a role in the inheritance of these traits in the F2 populations from crosses Taichung x Tanggamus follow of Mendel ratio or a modification of expectations and knowing the number of crosses. This research was conducted at the Laboratory LapanganTerpadu Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung from September 2013 until January 2014, and then continued in the laboratory observations Seed and Plant Breeding, University of Lampung. Propagation of virus carried in Kampung Baru, Bandar Lampung. This research uses experimental design without repetition with a single treatment design nested structured data is analyzed using the chi-square test for the suitability of the normal distribution and chi-squared test to test the of Mendel ratio and modifications . The results of this study indicate the character frequency distribution of plant height, grain weight per plant soybeans F2 generation from crosses Taichung x Tanggamus normal spread, while the frequency distribution for character flowering age, harvesting, healthy seed number per plant, number of productive branches, number of pods per plants and severity of disease spread is not normal. Estimates of the number of genes that control the character of harvesting is controlled by two genes are recessive epistasis duplicate the ratio 9: 7, days to flowering follow the ratio 1: 2: 1 which is controlled by a single gene that reacts not perfect, healthy character of the number of seeds per plant followed the ratio 3: 1 and for the total character of pods per plant, number of productive branches as well as the severity of the disease follows the ratio of 13: 3. the character dikendalikanolehdua genes dominant-recessive epistasis react. There are 21 numbers belonging expectations resistant to SMV. Keywords: Soybean, segregation, resistance characteristics, and SMV.

Abstract

Organic waste materials such as flour market (TLOP) have the potential to be used as a substitute for rice bran in poultry rations. This study aims to determine the level of efficiency and effectiveness TLOP in the ration on production of laying ducks levels and quality of duck eggs. The experiment was conducted using Completely Randomized Design with four treatment and 38 replicates each. This type of treatment is replacement of rice bran in the ration with TLOP as: a) 0% (P-0), b) 10% (P-10), c) 20% (P-20) and 30% (P-30). Used 160 ducks consisting of 152 females ducks and 8 males were placed in 8 cages and each filled in 20 ducks were 19 females and 1 male ducks. Observations made during three months and the observed parameters are included the percentage of the daily egg production and egg quality. The results showed that the highest daily production of eggs contained in the treatment of P-30 (average 80.5%), but not significantly different (P>0.05) with P-0 (79.1%) and P-20 (77, 1%) but significantly different (P<0.05) with P-10 (75.2%). Observation of the quality of the eggs they did not look real difference, except in the quality Haught Unit (HU) and egg yolk color index. Haught Unit (HU) increase from 87 to 92, while egg yolk color index change from 14** to 14***. Concluded that TLOP can be used as a substitute for bran feed material up to 30% in the rations of laying ducks Keywords: Organic waste materials, Bran, laying Ducks, egg production, egg quality

Abstract

Nationally, corn demand in Indonesia is still experiencing a lot of shortcomings, so as to fulfill domestic demand is still much imports. It makes a significant opportunity for potential regions such as West Nusa Tenggara Province to develop commodity massively. As it is known that in the development of commodity corn farming will always be included in the networking activities of agribusiness commodities themselves, which means success in improving the cultivation of corn farming can not be separated from the system of agribusiness commodities.. Development of corn by most farmers are not necessarily for their own consumption but geared to meet market needs. This paper is a portrait of the problems and opportunities faced by actors from the business development of corn producers (farmers) to the consumer of corn in the region of West Nusa Tenggara Province. Through the SWOT method to try to put hail research in the field. From the results showed that the cultivation of corn farming development in the province of West Nusa Tenggara are still many obstacles and barriers. On the other hand is very promising prospects for future development Keywords: Prospect, Constraints, Agricultural Development , Corn
