Abstract

This study aims to examine the improvement of Baca Tulis Al-Qur'an (BTQ) learning motivation among santri at Darunnajah Islamic Boarding School through basic training in the art of nagham (Qur'anic rhythmic recitation). BTQ learning frequently suffers from low motivation because it is perceived as monotonous and purely technical, while existing literature has rarely examined the role of Qur'anic musical arts as an intrinsic motivational instrument. A qualitative approach with a classroom action research design was employed over two cycles, involving 32 santri at the junior level. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, motivation questionnaires, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. Data validity was ensured through source and method triangulation. The findings indicate that basic nagham training, comprising the introduction of the seven maqamat (bayati, shaba, hijaz, nahawand, rast, jiharka, and sika), breathing exercises, and talaqqi-musyafahah methods, significantly enhances santri learning motivation. Improvement is evident in four dimensions: intrinsic interest in BTQ learning (rising from 56% to 89%), learning persistence (62% to 91%), active engagement (58% to 87%), and fluency in reading the Qur'an. The study concludes that integrating the art of nagham into BTQ learning provides aesthetic-spiritual stimuli that simultaneously fulfill the psychological needs of autonomy, competence, and relatedness, thereby strengthening santri's intrinsic motivation and reading quality.

Abstract

The digital transformation of education has become an imperative in the Society 5.0 era. Yet, Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) face unique challenges in integrating modern technology while preserving their foundational Islamic values. This study investigates the digital transformation of Islamic education within pesantren, focusing on the integration of Islamic values and technology literacy as a strategic response to Society 5.0. Employing an integrative literature review methodology, this research synthesizes findings from 35 peer-reviewed articles published between 2020 and 2025, sourced from reputable databases including Scopus, Web of Science, and SINTA-accredited journals. The analysis reveals three principal findings: first, pesantren leaders (kiai) increasingly demonstrate receptive attitudes toward digital adoption while maintaining Islamic epistemological frameworks; second, the integration of technology literacy within pesantren curricula produces synergistic outcomes when anchored in Islamic ethical principles such as amanah (trustworthiness), maslahat (common good), and tawazun (balance); and third, persistent challenges including infrastructural limitations, digital literacy disparities among educators, and cultural resistance necessitate a phased, values-driven transformation model. This study proposes the Pesantren Digital Integration Framework (PDIF), a conceptual model that harmonizes technological modernization with the preservation of pesantren identity and Islamic pedagogical traditions.

Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in adaptive learning has become a strategic approach to personalizing student learning experiences in the digital era. This study aims to analyze the implementation of AI-based adaptive learning systems in personalizing learning experiences for university students. Using a qualitative approach and a systematic literature review (SLR), this research analyzed 35 peer-reviewed articles published between 2015 and 2025, sourced from Scopus, Web of Science, and ERIC databases, following the PRISMA guidelines. Data analysis was conducted through thematic coding and narrative synthesis. The findings reveal three key themes: (1) AI-driven adaptive learning systems significantly enhance personalized content delivery through machine learning algorithms, intelligent tutoring systems, and learning analytics; (2) the integration of AI in learning personalization positively impacts student engagement, academic performance, and self-regulated learning; and (3) critical challenges persist including digital infrastructure gaps, data privacy concerns, algorithmic bias, and the need for educator readiness. This study contributes to the existing literature by providing a comprehensive analysis of how AI technologies can be strategically integrated into higher education to create inclusive, responsive, and learner-centered educational ecosystems in the digital era.

Abstract

This inquiry examines the legal standing of matrimonial unions contracted in the absence of a guardian within the landscape of officially unregistered polygamous arrangements, appraising them through the converging lenses of Islamic jurisprudential tradition and Indonesia's statutory architecture. Deploying a normative juridical methodology enriched by legislative, doctrinal, and case-oriented analytical pathways, the investigation draws upon Quranic scripture, Prophetic narrations, the national marriage statute of 1974, the codified Islamic legal compendium, and pertinent adjudications from religious tribunals accessible via the apex court's digital repository. The analysis substantiates the preponderant scholarly consensus, particularly in the Shafi'i tradition that pervades the Indonesian archipelago, that the guardian is a non-negotiable constituent of marital validity. National legislative provisions mirror this stance, rendering guardianless unions legally deficient. Concurrently, solemnizing a polygamous bond without spousal acquiescence and judicial endorsement contravenes multiple statutory imperatives. The investigation culminates in establishing that the confluence of these twin procedural shortcomings generates compounded juridical vulnerabilities: prospective retroactive nullification, erosion of spousal civil protections, and precarious legal standing for progeny.
