Abstract

Cervical cancer is a women's health problem that can be prevented through prevention and early detection. One early detection method is the Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) test, which is relatively simple, affordable, and effective. However, women's lack of knowledge and awareness regarding risk factors, prevention, and the importance of early detection of cervical cancer remains a challenge in control efforts. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge and awareness of women of childbearing age (WUS) regarding cervical cancer, risk factors, prevention efforts, and the importance of the VIA test. The method used was a lecture using PowerPoint, followed by a question-and-answer session and discussion. The activity was held on August 12, 2024, and was attended by approximately 62 women of childbearing age. The results showed that the socialization proceeded smoothly and received a positive response, as demonstrated by the enthusiasm and active participation of participants during the presentation and discussion. This activity is expected to increase participants' knowledge and awareness regarding the importance of early detection of cervical cancer and encourage them to undergo the VIA test as recommended by health professionals. Thus, this socialization is one of the promotional and preventive efforts to increase awareness of women's reproductive health. Sustainability of the program through regular education and support from health workers is needed to encourage wider use of cervical cancer early detection services.
