Abstract

Abstract

This study describes the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at SMKN 1 Kedawung and examines the role of teachers in its execution. The Merdeka curriculum emphasises flexibility, independence of thought, and character development of learners. Teachers have a central role as designers, implementers, and evaluators of learning in this curriculum. This qualitative research uses a literature review method and in-depth interviews with Vice Principals, senior teachers, and curriculum experts at SMKN 1 Kedawung. The results showed that although teachers have understood the concept of the Independent curriculum that has been running for almost two years, there are still obstacles in analyzing learning outcomes (CP), formulating learning objectives (TP), preparing the flow of learning objectives (ATP) and teaching modules, as well as making diagnostic assessments and learning evaluations. To overcome these obstacles, teachers implement strategies such as discussions with the MGMP team or peers and participating in online and offline training. Applying various learning models and methods, such as Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Project-Based Learning (PjBL), and inquiry, is emphasised to train students ' cognitive and psychomotor abilities and develop character. Evaluation of learning focuses on cognitive aspects, but also the character of learners through P5 (project for strengthening Pancasila student profile). Training and professional development are very influential in improving teachers' ability, as evidenced by 80% of teachers at SMK 1 Kedawung who have implemented the Independent curriculum well after attending various trainings.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of transformational skills and digital literacy as a strategy for developing human resources (HR) among university students in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and hybrid learning. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving lecturers, students, and university management. The results show that transformational skills play a role in shaping students’ character to be independent, adaptive, and visionary, while digital literacy enhances technological competence to support the learning process and readiness for a technology-based workforce. Although digital facilities on campus are adequate, their utilization remains suboptimal due to limitations in devices, internet access, and training. The integration of these two aspects serves as a strategic step in creating excellent, creative, and globally competitive students. Educational institutions play a crucial role through the strengthening of digital curriculum policies, the provision of cyber laboratories, and technology training. Thus, the synergy between transformational skills and digital literacy becomes the main foundation in shaping adaptive and competitive student human resources in the era of artificial intelligence. Keywords : Transformational Skills, Digital Literacy, Student Human Resource Development.

Abstract

The role of the principal has fundamentally shifted from a traditional administrative function to a role as an instructional leader that emphasizes improving the quality of learning processes and outcomes. This article is a narrative literature review that examines the evolution of the principal's role in the 21st century with a focus on the context of Indonesian schools. This study integrates findings from empirical and conceptual literature from the past five years (2020–2025) to formulate a conceptual framework regarding the tasks, competencies, practices, barriers, and policy implications for school leadership transformation. The results indicate three main shifts: (1) an orientation from administrative management to instructional and visionary leadership; (2) the need for digital competency and change management in the face of Society 5.0 and the implementation of the Independent Curriculum; and (3) the need for policy support, ongoing training, and an outcome-based evaluation system. This article recommends that educational stakeholders in Indonesia design principal development programs that are contextual, sustainable, and focused on improving learning.
