Abstract

This study examines the book Uq?d al-Lujayn by Sheikh Muhammad Nawawi al-Bantani from the perspective of global Islamic philology and Islamic educational thought, focusing on the guidance on the rights and obligations of husbands and wives and its relevance to character education and Muslim family morals. This study uses a qualitative approach through library research, with the main data sources being the text of Uq?d al-Lujayn and supporting literature discussing family jurisprudence, Islamic character education, and maq??id al-syar?‘ah. The results of the study show that Uq?d al-Lujayn contains fundamental values such as justice, responsibility, compassion, deliberation, and education, which play an important role in shaping family character. Although written in the social context of the 19th century, the teachings in this book remain relevant when read critically and contextually with a hermeneutic and maq??id al-syar?‘ah approach. The conclusion of the study confirms that Uq?d al-Lujayn not only functions as a classic family fiqh text, but also as a source of ethics and pedagogy that is able to bridge the traditional Islamic scientific heritage with the needs of character education and morals of Indonesian Muslim families today.

Abstract

The management of Islamic educational institutions faces the challenge of the lack of optimal integration of Islamic values and modern management approaches in institutional management practices. Modern management approaches tend to be applied in a technocratic manner, while Islamic values are often positioned as normative aspects that do not yet function operationally. This study aims to analyze and synthesize Islamic values with modern management approaches in the management of Islamic educational institutions. This study uses a library research approach with data sources in the form of books and scientific journal articles published in 2019 and above that are relevant to Islamic education management, Islamic values in organizations, and modern management theory. The data were analyzed using content analysis and comparative analysis techniques to find conceptual commonalities and opportunities for integration between the two approaches. The results show that Islamic values such as trustworthiness (amanah), justice ('adl), deliberation (sh?r?), responsibility, and ihsan are substantively compatible with modern management principles oriented towards ethical, humanistic leadership and organizational sustainability. The synthesis of Islamic values and modern management approaches has the potential to give birth to a professional, adaptive, and valuable Islamic education management paradigm, as well as to strengthen the institutional effectiveness and Islamic identity of Islamic educational institutions in the global era.

Abstract

This study aims to conduct an in-depth examination of the concept of decision-making in educational organizations, particularly from the perspective of Islamic educational management. The approach used is qualitative, specifically library research, through the analysis of various sources such as books and scholarly articles. The results of the study indicate that decision-making is a multidimensional process involving rational aspects, individual factors, and group dynamics. In addition to systematic stages such as problem identification, information gathering, and evaluation of alternatives, decisions are also influenced by perceptions, experiences, values, and individual cognitive abilities. In a group context, decision-making offers the advantage of diverse perspectives, although it faces challenges such as dominance and groupthink. In Islamic education management, the values of consultation, justice, and responsibility serve as the primary foundation. The integration of rational aspects and spiritual values contributes to more effective, participatory, and value-oriented decision-making.
