Abstract

Studi eksperimen ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi pengaruh strategi komik yang diunduh dan gaya belajar terhadap kemampuan membaca naratif kelas sebelas siswa SMAN 2 Singaraja. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain faktorial 2x2. Data kemampuan membaca naratif siswa dikumpulkan dengan instrumen yang merupakan tipe tes pilihan ganda. Sedangkan, data gaya belajar siswa dikumpulkan dengan kuesioner. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara statistik dengan ANAVA 2 jalur and uji Tukey. Temuan penelitian ini adalah; 1) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dalam kemampuan membaca naratif antara siswa yang diajar dengan komik yang diunduh dengan yang diajar dengan strategi konvensional, 2) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dalam kemampuan membaca naratif antara siswa field dependent dan siswa field independent, 3) terdapat pengaruh interaksi yang signifikan antara strategi mengajar (komik yang diunduh dan konvensional) dan gaya belajar siswa (field dependent dan field independent) terhadap kemampuan membaca naratif, 4) tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dalam kemampuan membaca naratif antara siswa field dependent yang diajarkan dengan strategi komik yang diunduh dan yang diajarkan dengan strategi konvensional, 5). terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dalam kemampuan membaca naratif antara siswa field independent yang diajarkan dengan strategi komik yang diunduh dan yang diajarkan dengan strategi konvensional.Kata Kunci : komik yang diunduh, gaya belajar, kemampuan membaca naratif This experimental study aims at investigating the effect of the Downloaded Comic Strategy and learning style on students’ narrative reading competencies of eleventh grade students of SMAN 2 Singaraja. The design of this research was 2x2 factorial design. The data of students’ narrative reading competencies were collected by using a multiple choice type test. Meanwhile, the data of students’ learning style were collected by using questionnaire. The acquired data were analyzed statistically by two way ANOVA and Tukey test. This research discovers: 1) there is a significant difference in narrative reading competencies between the students taught with Downloaded Comic Strategy and those taught with Conventional Strategy, 2) there is a significant difference on students’ narrative reading competencies between field dependent students and field independent students, 3) there is a significant interaction effect of teaching strategy (downloaded comic and conventional) and students’ learning style (field dependent and field independent) on students’ narrative reading competencies, 4) there is no significant difference in narrative reading competencies between the field dependent students taught with Downloaded Comic Strategy and those taught with Conventional Strategy, and 5) there is a significant difference in narrative reading competencies between the field independent students taught with Downloaded Comic Strategy and those taught with Conventional Strategy.keyword : downloaded comic, learning style, narrative reading competency

Abstract

This thesis is aimed at analyzing the intrinsic elements of “The Old Man and the Sea”; especially focusing on the character and characterization. The data are gathered through internet and library research. The method used in this thesis is the objective approach. This approach only focuses on the intrinsic elements of literary work. Abstract

      This research is an example of applied research. The aim of applied research is to increase scientific knowledge with a practical aim. In other words, the results of applied research will be immediately used for other practical purposes. The samples of this research are private class students who are taught English directly by the researcher. The number of samples of this research is 4 students who sit in grades 9 to 12 in high school. The research method used is observation, evaluation, and direct-interviews with the samples, then the data obtained are analyzed comprehensively. The result of this research; it is correct that by using the reading repetition strategy can improve the English vocabulary skills of the samples that have been appointed

Abstract

This study aims to provide education to the wider community in general and to readers or for novice learners of English about errors that often occur or are commonly done by Indonesian YouTubers when speaking English where these YouTubers can be grouped into non-fluent speakers or beginner English learners. The result is that the errors made by these YouTubers can be categorized into four major groups, namely; discourse error, grammatical error, syntactic, and lexical error. The object of his research is limited to videos uploaded to YouTube.com by these YouTubers in a limited number. The methods and approaches used in this research are qualitative methods and objective approaches.

Abstract

This study is qualitative research that aims to determine the effect of the game Genshin Impact on the English skills of the players. The ability referred to in this study is limited to the ability to write and read. Correspondents in this study were 20 players of the Genshin Impact game between the ages of 16 – 36 years consisting of 19 male players and 1 female player. The method of data collection was done by using a closed interview method. Then, the information collected will then be analyzed in depth and detail using a grounded theory approach to see the relationship between playing Genshin Impact and the players' English (reading and writing) abilities. The results of this study are true that Genshin Impact has an influence on the English skills of the players although it is not significant

Abstract

This study aims to explain the old phenomenon that has recently re-emerged and become viral among adolescents called bucin or 'slaves of love'. This research is the implementation of qualitative research. Data collection uses direct interview and observation techniques in a Whatsapp group chat. The sample is the members of the Indo Penta Kill Gamer Community. The total sample of this study amounted to 12 people where the sample was determined or selected using the simple random sampling technique. The result of this research is that the bucin phenomenon arises because of the urge to want to be loved, to love, and to find the identity from the players or members of the Indo Penta Kill community. The bucin phenomenon affects several aspects of the personal life of the perpetrator, for example, daily habits and time management

Abstract

Weir is one of the government's efforts to provide irrigation water and increase agricultural production. Any construction of a weir requires an appropriate hydrological analysis so that the weir planning can be technically and economically appropriate. The objectives of this study are: to determine the planned discharge in the Jangkok watershed. In this study, a descriptive quantitative approach is used, meaning that the problems discussed in this study aim to explain the state of the phenomenon status, namely knowing things related to the state of something in accordance with the phenomenon or symptoms that occur. Based on the description above, several problems can be formulated, including: The calculation of the flood discharge plan used the Haspers and Der Weduwen methods, after calculating the two methods obtained a small deviation, namely the Haspers method = 0.071 to 0.086 while the peak time (Tp) = 7,718 hours, the peak discharge of the Snyder synthetic unit hydrograph equation was developed.

Abstract

This is a qualitative study in which the author use a literature review paradigm approach. The goal of this research is to discover the quickest technique to increase reading skills. Several periodicals and articles about how to increase one's reading abilities are the focus of this study.The findings of this study reveal that, reading materials and activities should be very interesting for students so that they can easily absorb books, and must be adapted to their level of competence. Teachers should motivate their students to read these materials, be sensitive to their students' comprehension difficulties, and assist their students in changing their attitudes towards reading and developing positive attitudes towards their reading activities so that they can better understand various texts
