Abstract

This study aims to describe the representation of cultural imagery in the poetry collection Sangkolan Mata Celurit Mata Sabit by Roz Ekki using a cultural studies perspective. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The research data are in the form of words, lines, and stanzas in the poetry collection containing cultural imagery. The data collection technique is carried out through the documentation method by reading, recording, and classifying parts of the text related to environmental cultural imagery. Data analysis is carried out by interpreting symbols, imagery, and diction that represent the relationship between Madurese society and nature. The results of the study show that the image of environmental culture is depicted through natural symbols such as fields, land, sea, coastal winds, and farming and fishing activities that show the closeness of Madurese society to nature. Imagery. Thus, this collection of poetry is not only an aesthetic work, but also represents the cultural identity of Madurese society and the relationship between humans and the environment that shapes their lives.

Abstract

The Indonesian educational landscape is transitioning from the philosophical advocacy of the Merdeka Belajar (Independent Learning) policy to the practical implementation of Deep Learning pedagogies. This transition is critical for the Indonesian Language subject, which is central to fostering critical discourse and national identity. This conceptual research article argues that the philosophy of Pragmatism provides a robust foundation for Deep Learning, while the Tyler Model offers a systematic framework for its implementation. Employing a critical qualitative literature review, this study deconstructs the current implementation challenges in Indonesia. The findings reveal a gap between policy ideals and classroom practice, where projects often remain superficial. The synthesis demonstrates how each stage of the Tyler Model—from formulating competency-based objectives to designing authentic learning experiences and performance assessments—can be guided by Pragmatist principles to create a coherent Deep Learning environment. The study concludes that a deliberate integration of these frameworks is essential for moving beyond ceremonial compliance towards a transformative Indonesian language curriculum that empowers students as critical thinkers, collaborative problem-solvers, and effective communicators.

Abstract

This research aims to reveal the narrative components in the novels Haniyah dan Ala di Rumah Teteruga, namely narrative as an inherent or extensional component, a scalar or intentional component, a variable based on narrative type, and a mode among various modes. This research is included in qualitative research. Research data taken from the novel Haniyah dan Ala in Rumah Teteruga. The data is texts containing words, sentences, and paragraphs appropriate to the research problem. Data collection using library research. Data analysis uses descriptive analysis methods. The research results show that the novel has a whole narrative aspect. This is demonstrated by an inherent narrative, which shows cultural strength. Intentional narrative is indicated by the novel's sequentiality, eventfulness, reliability, and narrative competence. In variables based on narrative type, this novel shows a romantic, mystical style, but the dominant style is realist. Meanwhile, the novel genre includes historical novels. This novel is intense in portraiture mode, which reveals the story gradually.
